  1. I would like to see what your rig looks like....
  2. I dont know if they have this around you but here in NH they have a Robbins Autoparts store and they sell stock replacement exhaust, I had to replace mine from the cat back and it was like $360 for everything and it is just bolt on with new gaskets....
  3. So after putting my leveling kit in, which involved me unbolting my shocks so my axle would drop further down so I could squeeze the rubber spacers in then bolted my shocks back up; I took my pathy to a 45 degree ramp to test out the flex and see how the new spacers worked and halfway up the ramp i heard a quick snap and got out to see that my Rancho RS5000 snapped off right at the mount. GREAT..... it isn't a big job at all to replace those shocks but at $55 a pop it sucks because I also have to wait 3 days for them to come in and I have to reo the bushings in the shock to make them fit my pathy. They are Rancho RS5000's for a 2000 Ford F250 RWD V8 with a 4" lift. They are very good shocks and perform very well but has anyone had this problem of it breaking like that? Maybe I tightened the bolt holding it on to much?
  4. So my tires stick out a good 3-4" and I got a warning from the cops the other day.... I have been looking around for the longest time and can't seem to find fender flares; I do not want to take the rubber garden lining and rivet it to my fenders because I hate the way it looks. I have searched fender flare making companies such as bushwacker and such with no luck... they sell stock looking replacements but those dont have coverage either. I have heard of the idea of getting flares for like a yota truck or a 4runner and cutting your fenders to fit the flares but am wary of doing so because I do not know if it will work, but I guess I will never know unless I try, so does anyone have any input or has anyone had this problem and prevaled? BTW I have 34x10.5x15 TSL Swampers on my R50 with 6" of lift.
  5. I looked under it last night and the bushings for the lower arms look good and the arms don't look bent, the upper arm on the driver side looks like the bushing could use some replacing and the upper on the passenger side where the wheel is close to the running board doesn't look like much bushing is there, so After doing some research in the pinned section of the forum I think I just need to put some new poly bushings in the uppers and should be ok, I can always do the lowers which are much easier to do down the road. And I put a 1" leveling rubber spacer in the rear because my custom springs have finally sagged to where they are going to be and the back was 1.5" lower than than the front which I have a 4" SFD in.
  6. So yesterday after getting a 1" leveling kit put into my pathy and test driving it, it was making a sound like the tire was rubbing on the passenger rear side; I got out and my axle looked kinda weird, on the driver side between the axle and the running board I can fit almost 3 fingers between them, on the passenger side I can get 1 maybe 1-1/2.... It looks like my axle moved foreward on the passenger side? Could this be caused by the bushings in my 4link being bad?
  7. those are my old 31 mud terrains, I now have 34x10.5x15 TSL Super Swampers....
  8. Well I for one can tell you I wheel the sh@# out of my r50 and it takes every little bit I throw at it; I have 6" of lift and it gets through things that some jeeps don't.... also because I try them and then everyone else doesn't want to go after I did it. I have pulled out numerous jeeps, a couple yotas, and 2 landrovers.... don't get me wrong I have gotten stuck a few times myself, but I love the offroad capabilities of my R50. The only things that I have broke on mine was snapping my tie rod while rock climbing, the a/c compressor went out and I had to replace, and having to replace 1 CV after I tore the boot on the trail and filled it with mud.

  11. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/96-97-98-99-NISSAN-PATHFINDER-3-3-AIR-A-C-AC-COMPRESSOR-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem562e903ea1QQitemZ370148392609QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories will this one work? Pretty cheap... also has anyone ever use those ac recharge cans from the auto parts store? how good do they work?
  12. So it got upto 98 degrees today in nh so i decided to put my a/c on which i rarely do because of gas milage and hey its nh.... so i put it on and it worked great blowing ice cold air for about 15 minutes then it started blowing hot air so i decided maybe it needed a recharge because its been 2 years since i had it recharged, so i get home and hear this grinding sound coming from under my hood and low and behold the a/c pulley is barely moving and sounds like the bearings are shot..... I don't even know where to get a new compressor because it is hard enough to find parts for this truck on CL or a junkyard.... Anyone have any ideas? Also i have never done a compressor before, does anyone have a write up on this or some help? Thanks
  13. They would fit with some trimming, and as for the lift you should get the KYB struts that come in the kit for $790.00 they are much better and go buy OEM upper strut mounts because the ones that come with the kit are junk.
  14. Good to see so many people modifying their rides, I personally LOVE my SFD and thanks Andrew for hooking me up with it; I trust his work and have definitly put the SFD to the test with some crazy wheeling and it held up. I am however already starting to do research on my next project which will probably take a little longer and more saving up but I want a SAS! I am in the beginning stages of doing research just like I was a year ago when I found out about the SFD, but I am definitly enjoying my lift the way it is and can't wait to start modifying more. I love customizing my pathy and knowing that you did it all yourself and it will hold up to some abuse is even a better feeling.
  15. The SFD is handling all the beatings I have been able to throw at it, this weekemd that just passed was the only weekend i gave the pathy a break since installing the SFD.... I do not see the need to weld it, just torque the bolts after wheeling and you should be ok.
  16. I was also wondering about extending the bump stops, has anyone ever done this? What model of truck could I get a fender flare and do a little trimming to get extra clearence? Yea I have been wanting to get a picture next to a stock pathy but never had the opportunity until the other day; so any ideas with the bump stops and fender flares? Has anyone ever made some from another vehicle fit with some trimming?
  17. So I went out on a run this weekend with 20 other rigs from a 4x4ing group that i am part of here in NH its www.exploringnh.com and we went wheeling down some class VI roads and all was going good until the last trail where a washout was and a pretty big hill. And since i was running one of the longer wheel bases when i went to go over it stuffed my 33x13.50x15 TSL Super swamper so much into my fender that it popped my fender flare off and disconnected my bumper and peeled it back. So after getting off the trail it took 3 of us to wrestle the bumper back to being close to stock and i used some gorilla glue to put the fender flare back on... Does anyone know where to get any fender flares because all i can find is buchwacker flares that look like stock ones... or can flares from another vehicle be made to fit with some trimming?
  18. Anyone have any info/pics? The book on my pathy doesn't give good directions.... From what I know about tie-rods I need to count the times I turn the bolt to the outer tie-rod, and to take the inner out I need to take the boot off, and modify a 1-1/2" wrench to fit with a grinder to get the old one off while trying not to spin the gears in the rack. Then put the new one on and put the new cotter pin in to keep it from backing off.... Any tips?
  19. There should be local companies around you that can make them for about $70 for the rear and $40 for the front even thought you don't really need the front... I left mine stock and I have the longer replacements..... Don't fix it if its not broke..... Do a google search
  20. I do but my spare tire it turns out had a hole in it... so time for a new spare tire....
  21. So me and a buddy decided to gop out wheeling yesterday on some class VI roads that werent that bad at 11 am and we went down a few roads and got a little muddy and climbed over some good obsticles then we got to a point in the road where the only way you could go further is to climb this rock face and over a medium size tree... Needless to say I got over the rock face and was climbing over the tree when I heard a pop and something sounding like it was dragging so I stopped, needless to say I snapped my outter tierod right at the joint and im stuck half a mile from the main road down a class VI road and the only way to get out is to continue wheeling.... So we were making it down the trail slowely but surely having to kick and manhandle the tire to get it to move and my friend got pissed after doing this for a hour and kicked the rim and hit the valve stem and my tire went flat..... 1/2 mile away from the road.... So I had to call in a recovery wrecker with a wheel lift and convince the driver to go down the road.... which was pretty funny because it was a 5 speed and he kept stalling out and my flat tire was having problems staying in the wheel lift... It slipped out one time and I thought for sure the pathy was gonna flip but it didnt; so 5 hours later and a $250 towing bill my truck was on the main road and I could call AAA (first 100 miles are free!!!) so now the trailfinder is in the driveway sitting on the rim because the tire came off the bead while being dragged and I have to work 10 hour shifts all week so I don't know when I can get her back on the road... I will see if I can get some pics up tonight of the carnage....
