  1. Good to see so many people modifying their rides, I personally LOVE my SFD and thanks Andrew for hooking me up with it; I trust his work and have definitly put the SFD to the test with some crazy wheeling and it held up. I am however already starting to do research on my next project which will probably take a little longer and more saving up but I want a SAS! I am in the beginning stages of doing research just like I was a year ago when I found out about the SFD, but I am definitly enjoying my lift the way it is and can't wait to start modifying more. I love customizing my pathy and knowing that you did it all yourself and it will hold up to some abuse is even a better feeling.
  2. The SFD is handling all the beatings I have been able to throw at it, this weekemd that just passed was the only weekend i gave the pathy a break since installing the SFD.... I do not see the need to weld it, just torque the bolts after wheeling and you should be ok.
  3. I was also wondering about extending the bump stops, has anyone ever done this? What model of truck could I get a fender flare and do a little trimming to get extra clearence? Yea I have been wanting to get a picture next to a stock pathy but never had the opportunity until the other day; so any ideas with the bump stops and fender flares? Has anyone ever made some from another vehicle fit with some trimming?
  4. So I went out on a run this weekend with 20 other rigs from a 4x4ing group that i am part of here in NH its www.exploringnh.com and we went wheeling down some class VI roads and all was going good until the last trail where a washout was and a pretty big hill. And since i was running one of the longer wheel bases when i went to go over it stuffed my 33x13.50x15 TSL Super swamper so much into my fender that it popped my fender flare off and disconnected my bumper and peeled it back. So after getting off the trail it took 3 of us to wrestle the bumper back to being close to stock and i used some gorilla glue to put the fender flare back on... Does anyone know where to get any fender flares because all i can find is buchwacker flares that look like stock ones... or can flares from another vehicle be made to fit with some trimming?
  5. Anyone have any info/pics? The book on my pathy doesn't give good directions.... From what I know about tie-rods I need to count the times I turn the bolt to the outer tie-rod, and to take the inner out I need to take the boot off, and modify a 1-1/2" wrench to fit with a grinder to get the old one off while trying not to spin the gears in the rack. Then put the new one on and put the new cotter pin in to keep it from backing off.... Any tips?
  6. There should be local companies around you that can make them for about $70 for the rear and $40 for the front even thought you don't really need the front... I left mine stock and I have the longer replacements..... Don't fix it if its not broke..... Do a google search
  7. I do but my spare tire it turns out had a hole in it... so time for a new spare tire....
  8. So me and a buddy decided to gop out wheeling yesterday on some class VI roads that werent that bad at 11 am and we went down a few roads and got a little muddy and climbed over some good obsticles then we got to a point in the road where the only way you could go further is to climb this rock face and over a medium size tree... Needless to say I got over the rock face and was climbing over the tree when I heard a pop and something sounding like it was dragging so I stopped, needless to say I snapped my outter tierod right at the joint and im stuck half a mile from the main road down a class VI road and the only way to get out is to continue wheeling.... So we were making it down the trail slowely but surely having to kick and manhandle the tire to get it to move and my friend got pissed after doing this for a hour and kicked the rim and hit the valve stem and my tire went flat..... 1/2 mile away from the road.... So I had to call in a recovery wrecker with a wheel lift and convince the driver to go down the road.... which was pretty funny because it was a 5 speed and he kept stalling out and my flat tire was having problems staying in the wheel lift... It slipped out one time and I thought for sure the pathy was gonna flip but it didnt; so 5 hours later and a $250 towing bill my truck was on the main road and I could call AAA (first 100 miles are free!!!) so now the trailfinder is in the driveway sitting on the rim because the tire came off the bead while being dragged and I have to work 10 hour shifts all week so I don't know when I can get her back on the road... I will see if I can get some pics up tonight of the carnage....
  9. The nubs on the side of the super swampers that come along with the more aggressive tread pattern.
  10. It is pretty loud, but I only put them on when I go wheeling; otherwise I keep my 31s on and try to get good gas milage.
  11. I got them on with a little more trimming and didn't have to use spacers, these tires look and handle amazing!
  12. it did stay in place, i took it to my friends shop the previous day after the install and re-tightened all the bolts down with a airgun as tight as they would go, went the day after wheeling and they are all still tight.
  13. just put on the 33x13.5 TSL Super Swampers last night
  14. I have 31x10.5x15 Goodyear Mud Terrains and am going to put my 33x13.5x15 TSL Super Swampers on this weekend
  15. I have 31x10.5x15 Goodyear Mud Terrains and am going to put my 33x13.5x15 TSL Super Swampers on this weekend
  16. There are more to come but not until tonight or tomorrow..... ENJOY
  17. The top of the tire will go into the strut if it compresses a little bit; the strut overhangs the tire by 1" so if it was to compress it would go straight into the tire.
