2000 Pathfinder Trailer wiring assembly?
csutke replied to BigBikeMike's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
as for the wires i belive that you will use butt connectors and inline splice connectors -
I dony know what im going to be doing. I need to hear from the ins comp first to see what they will do. Id like to get another but theres an X that im intrested in. It has ARB's F/R, skids, sliders, TJM front bumper, 33's etc... so well just have to see. If I do get the X I will still stay as active as possible on here though.

dont know about the aftermarket stuff, i hope so but I kinda doubt it, the only things left are the Hubs, Lift, Lights, and CB. a few of these things i can grab and dont think it will matter but the others i doubt.

Sounds like a bad day for pathies. Today I was on my way to work today, hit a patch of ice and had the back end slide out on me. When this happened the rear slid in to a UPS trailer after this the front slid and hit the trailer, then I got spun around and hit the center median wire divider. So it looks like it will be totalled but I will need to wait and see what the insurance company says. Ohh yeah everybodies is ok. No injuries.

theres a how to, to make it so you can use your fogs with the brights on
-
well there are shocks and struts on it. You have struts up front and shocks in the rear. So it could be helpful to know which was changed. The coils are going to be what you need to looking at for towing capacity. BTW the towing cap. for our pathfinders is 5,000 I believe.

the pump will use the reserve but its there to allow you to get to a gas station before running dry. Once the light comes on you are in the reserve and it will start using that 4 gallons.
-
when you ran out did you run it completely dry? and did it run dry again? i believe that our tanks have about a 4 gallon reserve to make sure that you dont run dry. maybe thats whats going on. If you ran dry last time then it would take 4 of those 5 to fill it.

thanks, but they've already been sold. I got new tires and rims in OCT.

I believe that they were American Racing, but I dont know anything more anbout them as they were on there when I bought it

Ohh and heres the pics of my new light bar. Its a piece of 3/16 x 2" from home depot. I just used the same measurements from my last one. The reason for this one is I was sick of my lights bouncing around everywhere when I would be using them.

No Im not going to do the whole bumper, just the chrome part. The reason for me doing this was to get rid of the rust that was starting to show. Also I think it looks better having black bumpers rather than chrome. So here is the final product: heres what it looked like before before also in these pics I dont have my new tires and wheels which are black :

So today I finished applying the second coat to the front and the first coat to the rear bumpers. For the how to, here is what I did: 1. Either remove bumpers or tape off what you want to coat as once its dry you will not be able to remove it easily or at all. 2. Scuff up chrome so the herculiner will stick, I did this but using a flap wheel on an angle grinder. I only got off the shiney surface, so I didnt get too deep. 3. Wipe off surface with MEK or some other solvent to remove dust and what not. 4. Apply liner with paint brush. (I used herculiner but im sure its the same process with other DIY liners. I used a 3" brush from Harbor Freight that cost .70 as I didnt want to use an expensive brush because when the liner drys it will be hard as a rock and you wont be able to reuse the brush.) The easiest way I found to apply it was by dabbing the brush in the can and then using the lid as a bucket to hold the excess that would be dripping off. When I needed more I would take it from the lid instead of the can. You can brush it on but it doesnt work that well. 5. Let dry for recommoned time or unitl not tacky and apply second coat. tapped off and not scufffed after scuffing with flap wheel on an angle grinder after the first coat

Could you direct me to the location of the valve, I cant seam to find it. I dont seam to be having bad or rough idle though.
-
so could the other code be causing the knock sensor code? if i do change the sensor will it change anything at all or will it not do anything? If I do change it is it nessecary to pull the intake or can i get to it without pulling it?
-
About a three weeks ago in the gas fields in Texas I was driving into town to get some supplies and what not and noticed that my CEL was on. Had the people at Autozone pull the codes and heres what came up: P0325 and P1491. They said that P0325 was the knock sensor and I knew about that as Ive it the CEL trip for that before, but the other code P1491 was new to me. The definition from them is: Vacum cut valve bypass valve. Problem causes: Failed vacum cut valve bypass valve Blocked line. They couldnt help me firgure out what the problem was or where it was at. I have found this valve in the FSM but cant seam to find it on the vechile. Also could this cause the code for the knock sensor or is the knock sensor actually bad? If the knock sensor is actually bad do i really have to take the intake off to change it? If I do have to take the intake off how hard is it, and is there anything that I should be aware of as Ive never taken it off before. Thanks

i got one here in fort collins, co. On the ticket it stated that it wasnt going to be reported to the DMV or to insurance so in my mind they are only doing it to make money. The fine was $40, and im sure thats why it's so low. I wasnt going to take off work and try to fight it and i would end up losing money and would still have to pay court fee's and what not. As for having a radar dectector that wont always work, i have one and i still got hit. It started going off at the same time that i got my pic taken. If you had a pop sensor detector it might work better. As for the mythbusters thing, do you really think that if it did work they would tell you how to get around breaking the law?

Both the early X and the early R50 share the same VG33E, although some of the 2000+ X's I believe you could get with a supercharger
