Road Trip from Florida to Alaska in the path!
csutke replied to RoadTrippin's topic in General Forums
the timing belt should have been done at 105K if not your pushing your luck, im not sure if theres a way to check it or not but im sure that others can tell ya. -
for an update, i decided to go with sirius and i love it. I just made about an 800 mile trip and it was a life saver. I never once lost signal and the different stations made the trip seam alot faster than it was.

i just made about a 1000 mile trip to my new job (thanks brian) and before i left i changed the front and rear diffs, tranny and t-case and engine oil and some other misc things that needed chaning. i would recommond getting either sirius or xm satilite radio as it was a life saver for me. It made the 12 trip go by alot faster and it was nice having something different to listen to the whole way down to tx from co. as for what to carry just like what brian said things that you would need to survive if needed. other types of maintanance what has been done that you know of will help others to recommond what is needed. true going to a smaller tire will give you better MPG but will also decrease you ground clearance if you need it. -
as for the rags i just throw mine away in the trash. if your really worried about it you could prob stick them in a ziplock bag to keep them from leaking
-
i also ran mine under the drivers side A pillar and then ran them under the dash and all that jazz
-
i know that the center bore is different but im not sure after that

switching oil from castrol to royal purple

i just put SYNpower in my F/R diffs and semi/syn engine oil two weeks ago and no probs here. I wanted to use syn in my tranny and t-case but couldn't find syn DEX/MERC tranny fluid and didnt want to wait on having some shipped. -
yep those are the standards at least in the pic. I def wouldnt spend that much on the standards IMO http://www.warn.com/truck/hubs/hubs.shtml
-
those hubs on parts warehouse dont look like what i have. I know that I got Warn #29091 and they were the premiums those on parts warehouse look like the standards. The best thing you can do when looking for hubs is try local 4x4 shops. I got mine shipped to the store for $120 and they were there next day. whats listed on parts warehous what I have and is listed on AC etc...

must be nice

get a pair of sliders that you can use as a step, it will provide more protection in the long run.
-
I never use shell gas, as they seam very proud of it as it costs atleast 10-15 cents more than everyone else, my .02
-
you could always find another brand of rack and use U-bolts to mount it
-
check the owners manual
-
try looking in the R50 section.
-
So I finally got them changed and all I have to say is GOD i hope i never have to do that again. Took about 4 hours to change two arms. Fawk that
-
what did you do to hold the plate out of the way thats on the front of the driver side mount?
-
if you do plan to proceed youll have to think about other things besides the axle such as, steering, suspension driveshaft, etc... and where to mount all of that. So its not going to be as simple as just putting a new axle under there. check out http://www.roninwheelers.com/vbulletin/index.php as theres a lot of guys on there that have SAS's their rigs and would be able to help you out more on the basics of completing one. But if you do SAS it take lots of pics and notes. More power to ya if you get it done.
-
he should already have a rear axle but im guessing that it would be to much of a pita as we have a unibody and i dont know if the 2WD models are made different but i think that you would to buy the previous list as well as crossmembers and such
-
those sound about right
-
Ive tried a search and cant find my answer I just changed the fluid in my 98 Pathy XE with AT and was wondering the capacity of the pan as I want to make sure that i didn't over fill my tranny? thanks
-
trying to do mine and all i have to say is fawking nissan, why did they have to make every thing so difficult. Got the front bolt out on the passenger side and got the nut off on the rear and then rounded off the bolt head. On the driver side theres some sort of skid plate on the front mount that I have scrapped one of the two bolts on a rock and it now doesnt have a head to it. Figures

Anybody else heard of this? taken from April 08 fourwheeler
