  1. I call it BS. ALL C4C cars are immediately seized with sodium silicate. But I don't think the xterra would qualify under the C4C program. If it didn't then more than likely the dealer said he'd accept trade in which would probably be around that. But if somebody comes in and asks to do Cash 4 Clunkers then the dealer HAS to do it or face fines that start around $15k. The government is NOT screwing around on this. So if there was any validity to the story the government would whack the dealership hard. but the Xterra isn't a clunker by any means.
  2. yeah i just wanted to make sure that way I didn't screw it up. I figure if the oil looks dirty enough I'll just drain it and replace it.
  3. I'd like it with a different vinyl on it. Or a more upscale. But the trim around the door just pops off? After taking the grab handle off I'd assume. Two screws hold the roof panel in under that trim piece.
  4. None of the cable appears to be damaged. I'm not throwing a CEL. Either way I got the sensor. So if all else fails I won't have to worry about that for a minute.
  5. That alone is a red flag. Don't do it.
  6. I love the Z32. Alot more than the 350Z's.
  7. so I'd need GL-4? My XE is a 5-speed.
  8. Manual says Dexron II but I dunno how I feel about just dumping that into my transfer case.
  9. That's the Z32 engine I was referring to. I forgot the extra T. It's a quad cam and really REALLY wide engine.
  10. taillights will not work. They are too tall and skinny for the Pathfinder. Corner lights should work and same with the bumper lights.
  11. picked it up today. It has the O-Ring. What gear oil should I use in my transfer case? I dunno how much I'll lose from putting this sensor in so I want to top it off. SHould I use the same as the manual trans? Or should I use something else?
  12. There are times when I love using a GPS. My trip to IL it helped me find turns and get back on the highway after being redirected and such. Also helps me in the city because I freak out when I don't know where I'm at. And sometimes i can't pull out a paper map while I'm in traffic. Last time I trusted a paper map for the city I also ended up in a very very VERY bad neighborhood. I thought I was going to be shot tbh. I can see the need for them but some people use them for the dumbest things or never use them at all. I don't understand why some people get that $3k option for Navi on their brand new car and then never use it. My little one works perfectly
  13. that's what i was thinking of. That's what we used at work on door locks.
  14. Off a 300ZX? I imagine the one with the VG30E it's possibly. Although I'm not quite sure as to how well the head gaskets and other bits would hold up. But the twin turbo was the Z32 and that was a quad cam engine. VG30DE. Turbo's get a T at the end. The Z31 had a VG30E however. VG30ET however was only one turbo and only produced about 200~hp or so stock. That's at about 6.7 PSI. I doubt you'll get THAT much out of a single turbo setup with stock internals. But I imagine hooking up the turbo system from a Z31 doesn't sound THAT odd so long as you can get everything tuned right. Gotta make sure about clearance issues and such too considering the Z31 is a sports car and rides alot lower and is alot shorter than the Pathfinders. But anything is possible if you put your mind and money to it.
  15. I imagine greasing the cylinder and the linkages (which I think the problem is more in the linkages) would solve it better than WD-40. WD40 works for a while but since it's water in it, it'll dry up over time. They make special spray lubricants.
  16. Usually most are going to involve some wiring up. Some are a manual style so I dunno if you'd just need to wire up the lights or not.
  17. i seen some nice ones on ebay just by searching "clinometer"
  18. Both my Rottweiler and chihuahua get car sick. A bit of a pain cause the vet has to come out to the house.
  19. 2-Door midsize SUVs aren't my thing. Although I dig that filler panel in the back liftgate more than the 94-95 style.
  20. Because I had a flat tire.... my speedo won't work. The cluster is good and the wires aren't cut and i haven't blown any fuses. That would be the only reason to buy one.
  21. I'll have to hope the one I ordered comes with the O-Ring then. The part was $178 from Nissan but $86 from Advanced Auto.
  22. yeah superbrightLEDs is the site to go to. they also got ones that'd replace the normal interior lights (like the dome light). I may cash in on that.
  23. Is there a gasket on the speed sensor where it goes into the Transfer case? and how hard is it to get that gear off the sensor?
  24. I wanted to double check. I figured it was just a color filter. But I didn't know if it was to keep the cluster internals from getting too hot. My camaro had LED lights in the gauge cluster. Turned out really good. I might try and get the stuff to convert the cluster lights to LED. But I hate that greenish/blue glow most clusters have. When I get time I'll peel off the filters from mine. I also found a speed sensor from Advanced Auto Parts for less than half of what Nissan was charging me. Looks like my truck may be on the road in no time.
