  1. Yeah the numbers aren't as great as you'd think. I just love the looks and the fact it has some power. I'd much rather have a Ecoboost Flex though. and the FX is rather nice.
  2. Don't waste your time man lol. The yamaha V8's are junk. Complete garbage. 3.4 V8 pushing 240hp and it's a ticking time bomb for the most part. replacing snapped cam shafts isn't fun to deal with. Modify the original V6 and keep up on the timing belt. You'll find yourself alot happier having not wasted your time. and I've seen the V8 in the first gen SHO, it's quite the headache the guy said.
  3. The very first generation SHO's I like. The second generation with the V8, not so much. But I like just about everything about the new SHO lol. I think it looks great (I've been envious of Europe's Ford's for a while now). Interior is really nicely appointed. Back of the car is a little iffy. But the front I like. Still love the Flex. I love Wagons so that may be why.

I got a Westinghouse. $600 at BJ's lol. 1080p LCD 42". Not too bad and hasn't given me any problems. Hopefully it won't. Only complaint is HDMI doesn't come out all that good. I'm getting a better picture out of my Component cables than I am my HDMI cable.
  5. Toyota is iffy. I hated the Tundra at first. But now the exterior has kind of grown on me. Still hate the interior with a fiery passion though. I dig a good bit of Toyota's SUVs (not the Rav4 though). Hate every car Toyota has to offer. Same with Lexus. Nissan has been iffy. I'd like the cube if they had a proper pillar at the very back. That wrap around back glass deal ruins it for me. Also hate the Nissan steering wheels ALOT. I don't know why. I just find them to look disgusting. Still dig the trucks though. I love the Armada. As for Nissan cars I dig the new Altima and the outgoing maxima. The new maxima I hate that boomerang styling. I also think the 370z is about as ugly as sports cars can get lol. the big 3 aren't impressing me much. Camaro looks odd and it's too overdone. Mustang is ugly. Challenger is awesome but expensive. The trucks are iffy. Hate the new F150 but love the Raptor. new Silverado is just okay. New ram is ugly. I like the new Suburban and Expedition. Only other things I love from Ford are the Ecoboost cars (I'd love a Flex or the new Taurus with the Ecoboost).
  6. I don't like it. I do like the current QX however
  7. Rebadging it causes a whole lot of drama. For one you got the warehouse full of Pontiac front ends (Pontiac is dead officially). To change the brand you'd have to submit it again for crash testing and then make more changes to it so people wouldn't associate it with Old "Rebadge Everything" GM. That and GM is trying to get people to think they care about fuel economy. Bob Lutz wanted to do it until he got shut down by the new guy running GM. The G8 was great. I wasn't impressed by the interior materials though. That and I sat in a GXP and the shift boot had some weird oily substance. Hopefully it was the dealership trying to "clean" the leather. CTS is on the Sigma II. Only car to ride that right now actually. Passlock is a HUGE problem with GM's. Just went through that a few months back with my S10. Damn sensor was near $160. There's ways to reset it. Should've bypassed the resistor. It's relateively easy. I had a 1992 Cavalier Convertible and loved it. great fuel economy, great performance for a 4-cyl. And it wasn't half bad looking.
  8. After pontiac's demise the Zeta Platform seemed like it'd be gone for good. It'll live on with the Camaro. But that's like a retarded step child. It just isn't the same. I like my Muscle Sedans. GM Is bringing it back now as a Caprice for Police use. As far as anyone knows it's a police only vehicle. Been reading up on Jalopnik about it. Looks like it'll have some awesome features. Wish we were getting it for public use lol. Press photos: http://jalopnik.com/5374408/chevy-caprice-...selectedImage=7 Love the look of the front. The back however lost it. I mean sure it doesn't matter in terms of fleet use. But the back just looks as ugly and bland as the Impala.
  9. I don't have that kind of time really. I gotta get the truck inspected and all still. And my usual place is busy. That and if anything else is wrong with it I'd like some time to fix it. I'm just pressed for time. I suppose if I can't find the GL-4 I could use ATF for now. I also gotta get my exhaust welded. I got a crack right before it goes into the collector
  10. I guess I may have to go on a limb to see if a local performance shop has it. I need my Nissan on the road by the end of this month lol. Don't have time to wait for ordered parts. Any other suggestions in case I can't find that? I'm almost there. All I got left of real work is this damn sensor. The A/C belt but I can live without A/C for now. Gotta bleed my brakes but that doesn't take long at all.
  11. That's what I meant. The power steering pump uses ATF as well according to the manual. That's why I said that lol. sorry about that. I've never heard of MT-90. and I have a manual trans
  12. What fluid do I use? I've been through this before I believe. Power steering fluid is what the manual says about. Dexron II. Would Dexron III be fine? (I'd assume so but i'd rather ask and be safe).
  13. I'm replacing my vehicle speed sensor. So i'll probably end up losing all my fluid. I'll look for it when i get a day off I suppose.
  14. How would I go about putting said fluid in? I searched and came up dry.
  15. I can't remember the company but they made heat shield wraps for fuel lines. It looks like a space blanket. Pretty much all GM RWD V8's had it I think. But it looks just like a space blanket and looks a little better than the insulated coverings. but it all accomplishes the same job. I don't think anyone off road will ask to see your engine lol
  16. I'm saying maybe the people who turned it in didn't ask for the CFC program. And if they didn't submit the car to the Federal Government the dealership is at risk of fines. If a person goes in requesting to exhange a car through the CARS program than the dealership is obligated to do exactly that. The dealer can't swindle the government and offer above the rebate or try to change the person's mind. If I take my Suburban in and say how I want the CFC program. The dealer can't say "well I'll give you $6k for it." The Government set it up like that so the clunkers WOULD get off the road and dealerships wouldn't pick and choose with what they want. Hopefully the dealership gets fined and learns their lesson. Also as for the whole "helping american cars" debate. One of the key selling points to this bill was that it was going to help out American automakers. Our companies. Not saying Toyota, Honda, Nissan, etc don't have American workforces or factories. But they are also doing pretty well financially. GM and Chrysler just went through bankruptcy protection and restructuring. Ford has been limping along and is soon going to be out of assetts to chop. I've been following the bill since the first time they tried to push it through. So I wish it would've been used to help sell some cars and help out our own companies. Sadly it just didn't work out that way. I think only the Focus was in the top 10 of cars purchased with the program. Also the Drivetrain thing is iffy. Government has been flip flopping ont he issue. Yeah the Engine is seized but most of what you get out of a car pricewise is the drivetrain. I'm not sure if they ok'd selling the transmission/rear diff/driveshaft/etc. I'd have to check on that. But body panels and interior are fair game. Some of the stuff we've gotten at the junkyard through this program however would make you sick. There's REAL clunkers on the road and then there's ones that somebody put alot of time and effort to take care of. We got an 1985 LTD in MINT condition with 40k original miles. a few newer Explorers. None with over 100k. A Olds Bravada that is in pretty much new condition. 1985 Town Car, fully loaded. And the list goes on. We've only gotten maybe 3 cars out of the 25+ thus far that you can really say "well I can see why they traded that in"
  17. they are pretty flat. Recovering them with the same vinyl (or another material) wouldn't be all that hard. Spray glue would be the best bet (it comes in cans). It's pretty easy and i'm sure getting some tiny thin padding wouldn't be as hard either.
  18. You need to relocate the oil filter to install thorleys correct?
  19. Maybe you don't have a turbo you don't know about.
  20. black coffee. Once in a while if i'm feeling adventurous I use french vanilla creamer. But normally I don't care enough. and if it's tea for me usually it has to be sweet tea. Hot tea for me is usually asian teas. Green tea, jasmine tea, etc.
  21. did the 94/95 ever have a clinometer?
  22. I guess im lucky. Both of mine are as loose as can be.
