  1. Thanks. It does the job. I love Palm too. So many programs....so little time!!!
  2. Yessir....works well. Palmone Treo 600. That's the phone. I've got both TomTom Navigator, and Mapopolis software on it. Both allow me to set navigation points, and gives me step by step directions. Only problem is that the GPS receiver is cable based, so it's not portable. It has to be plugged into the cigarette lighter and Treo via split cable to work. No big deal though, as I hate walking!!! Links.. TREO TomTom Navigator Mapopolis
  3. I use my cell phone as a GPS unit. I have a 1Gb SD card, and maps of all of Canada on it. Hell of a lot cheaper than one of those.....but, that is a really nice unit!!!
  4. Damn!!! You have a source for women?!?!? Unfortunately, (in this case) I'm married, so no women for me. Don't worry about bringing anything. I don't mind at all. I'll give you a hand . If you'd like to have a couple beers while working, by all means, bring some...I've got a fridge in the garage for just such an occasion. I'm a Keith's fan, but I'll drink anything if I want a beer enough This weekend, I think Sunday would be best, as I have a dinner thing to go to on Saturday. My Sunday is free, so we can break my tools together!!!! Let me know if that's good for you.
  5. I've got a similar hole. I'm going to use 2 sheets of metal, and sandwich the hole with them. It'll be overkill, but should be more sturdy than one sheet. I'll prep them before hand with high temp primer and paint, then I'll coat them in POR-15 and rivet them in place. I'll let you know how it goes. I may even take a few pictures!!
  6. I believe the 96's also had 16" rims. But, quite a few came with smaller tires....so maybe that would be enough?
  7. Dowser, you're more than welcome to come to my place if you like. I'm in Acton, which is about 10 minutes north of Milton, which, is about 35 minutes west of Toronto, along the 401. Let me know. I have jacks, jackstands, ramps, some air tools, ratchets, sockets, spring compressors, you name it, I've pretty much got it.
  8. He IS full of chit!!! On a pathfinder, the rule of thumb is 3" SL + 3" BL =33" tires. Even then, they still rub a bit in some cases if you don't trim. I'm running a 3" SL and 32" tires and still have some rubbing in the rear. Have to trim my fender flares.
  9. Okay.....on the check engine light. If you turn your key to the on position, without starting it, the check engine light should illuminate. That's your indication that it's working. IF not, that's okay. You can still run the codes on the ECU, because even if your check engine light IS working, it may still have a code that wouldn't trip the CEL. I'd start there, and let us know what you find, but smelling gas in the oil is NOT a good thing. Could be a leaky injector, or it could be a seal/gasket somewhere has failed. Good luck, and report back anything you find.
  10. Dowser, when I lifted mine, I had the passenger side front cranked about 1" higher than the driver's side. It ended up tilting the entire truck. If you level out the front, my guess is that the back will settle nicely as well.
  11. If it were me, and I was already in there, I'd take the old bolts out. If breakage is a major concern, and you're getting the cold 'tick tick tick' then I'd say get the bolts out, and put new ones in. Soak in PB Blaster or something similar for a day or so, and then try to pull the old bolts.
  12. Geez V6!!!! Maybe no one is sure, and doesn't want to offer up the incorrect information. Relax man! Have a or 12!
  13. Oh, that sounds like fun too!!!!! A CAA ride.......the newest attraction at Canada's Wonderland next year!!!
  14. My God Dowser!!!! That's a whole heck of a lot of damage from one trail run!!!! You must have been flying through there!!!! Glad you had fun doing it though, the memories will outlast the pain of having to pay for the repairs. I'm also glad that I didn't go!!!
  15. Twisting is okay.....though, if they're too lose, usually you'll be able to make them move lengthwise...which is bad. They have to be able to turn on the axis as that's where you get the flex when going over bumps. If you can move them from outside to inside, along the length of the tie-rod assembly, that's a problem, and can cause your wobble.
  16. Don't give up so easily...... Maybe a used tranny can be found? A rad shouldn't cost you too much. You could possibly have it back on the road for around a thousand bucks if you can remove and replace the tranny by yourself, and do the work to replace the rad. Might be worth it with only 150K on it. Check local wreckers for availability on a tranny.
  17. Good info Filthy. I'm going to check out a set tonight, but the rims are aftermarket....they were on an R50....so I'll see what the fit is like.
  18. It could be that the wire has been pulled out of the sending unit. It's located right beside the oil filter. Happened to me once, and the wire would ground on the frame, and cause the light to come on.
  19. EXCREMENT!!!! Thanks Vengeful!!!! :cool2:
  20. Hey folks, just did a search, and came up with NADA, so I'm gonna ask. I've got a 95 Pathy, and I'm going Wednesday to look at some wheels/tires that came off an R50 Pathfinder. I know the bolt pattern is the same for both, but will the center hole be the right size to fit over the hubs on my 95? I've seen a couple of WD21's with newer style rims, (one had QX4 rims) but I'm not sure if there was any modification necessary to get them to fit. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. EDIT: A preliminary search on aftermarket wheels shows that part numbers for a 96 and 95 Pathfinders would be the same in 16" size, but I'd like to be 100% sure if possible.

    locking hubs

That's exactly it. As far as I know, Vengeful and Pezzy both have manual hubs on their R50's and have had no complaints. I'm sure there are others, but I can't remember off the top of my head.

    locking hubs

The advantage would be to stop the CV's from spinning all the time. It evidently gives you a slight increase in mileage, and decreases wear on the front drive components.

    locking hubs

Do you even have hubs? I think the R50's came with fully engaged driveshafts. Unless, of course, you put on hubs yourself.
  24. No, it wouldn't cause the truck not to get spark, but I wasn't sure that you were sure that it's a spark issue. If you are, disregard the sending unit part.

    locking hubs

You still could have done it in 2wd if you locked the front hubs and left the shifter in 2WD. Then, if you got stuck, throw it in 4HI. You can use manual hubs like auto's if you just lock them before hitting the trail.
