I am going to try, but there isn't much space to play with.

This gets wierder. I just looked up the EGR tube in FAST, and there are 2 different part numbers. 14725-75P00 is applicable from 06/94 and up, while 14725-88G00 is from 08/89 through 06/94. There is only one manifold listed for ALL models with VG30E. That means that no matter what year, the VG30E manifold had the same bung, but a slightly different EGR tube.
-
I know I ordered the one for the VG30E. The site lists it as a 1990-1995 manifold. I guess they could have shipped the wrong one.
-
I bought a "OEM Direct Replacement" Driver's side exhaust manifold from www.car-stuff.com It says it is the right one for all WD21's EDIT should read 1990-1995's. That was an error on my part. I was a bit skeptical, but for $22 you can't really go wrong, right? I got it the other day and installed it. Mates up fine to the head. The only problem is the EGR tube bung. It is way too big. I guess this is a feeler question / warning. Has anyone else bought a replacement manifold and had the EGR tube not fit? The stock number on the site is N960705.

does a 92 have a check engine light?
Indigent replied to Channel595's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Of my three pathies, the only one that has a CEL is my 95. My 91 and my 90 do not. -
There is not just one tensioner. Each belt has its own. If they have been excessively tight for a long time, it could have messed up a few bearings.

This notion of executives getting paid vast sums of money to "do nothing but sit and fskc up" is getting tired. I agree that most of those execs make more than they probably should, but you walk a fine line between socialism and reality when you feel disenfranchised by it. These execs have worked hard to get where they are. Whether you feel they deserve to be there or not. There are sooo many things that are involved with positions at that level. They applied themselves and strove to get to the level they are. When it comes down to it, *someone* has to be in that position. If one feels that they could do a better job, I applaud you and wish you the best of luck in your endeavor to achieve that level of success. You just may come to the realization that actual real decision making as a profession is quite difficult. One of the things that makes it difficult is the fact that you will never be able to make everyone happy. Playing the blame game is dangerous.

Isn't that the font from Star Trek the Next Generation?

Wouldn't it be easier to pull the front propeller shaft out?

My 90 doesn't have a body lift and I was able to buy a small battery powered drill that fit. Also, if you take it slow enough you could do it with some extensions and a regular drill. It is definitely a pain, but it is do-able. Just jack up the driver's side and remove the tire. You will be able to see all of them easily.

Other than the sites listed on here like www.courtesyparts.com and rock auto, have you tried dealing locally? There is a great shop in my town called Triangle Auto that has never let me down. You might be surprised if you get outside of those big chain parts stores and check the little guy down the street. YMMV

I seriously doubt it. It is possible, but even the 90-93 pathy belts are different from the 94-95 ones. You never really know when Nissan did what with different models. For example, the 300zx had a VG30E in the 80's when the Pathy had the VG30I. The best way to check would be to compare the Nissan part numbers for each part on each vehicle seperately in something like FAST.
-
You can check your VIN number in FAST. It will tell you the options it came with. A dealer might do it for you too.

x3. that doesn't look like a $700 stuck situation. I am with bitemedoughboy on the air down. Get yourself one of those little air compressors that runs on the cigarette lighter. If you get stuck let most of the air out of the tires and when you drive away from the hole, air them back up.

Sounds like a torque converter to me. I would drop the pan and check for chunks of bearings.

courtesy nissan has the toolkit on the site. Courtesy Parts It is less than $50US. The tool you need is the 99540. The handle is 99541. 99540 lists for less than $20US as of right now. I have never seen one in the JY either, but luckily of the three pathys I own right now, all of them have had the toolkit under the seat.

Are the spark plugs out? If you leave them in, you will be pushing against engine compression.
-
Did you do a compression test on it? Compression testers can be purchased cheap or even rented.

Is the information in your profile correct? If it is then you should really post this in the 86-89 Section of the board. The VG30I is very different from the VG30E. Most of the solutions people might give will not apply to your rig anyway. It is a bit frustrating constantly seeing that. Keep in mind I am only going by what your profile says. If you have a second rig that is 90-95, I apologize for the rant. indigent.

It can be a bit of a PITA to get the cluster back in and seated on the speedo cable. That little white plastic springy assembly with the square end needs to seat into the square hole in the speedo. If your cluster is springing back at you, you didn't get it seated into the hole. Be careful because you can break that little springy plastic piece and will have to get another one. Make sure that springy thing is on the cable all the way then install the cluster. To get the needles off just pull them up. Grab as close to the shaft as possible. They are not keyed or anything. It can be hard to put the needle back on in the right place accurately. I did it by RPM. At 40mph when the tranny has shifted into OD, you will be almost dead on at 1500rpm, assuming you have stock tires. Otherwise if you have a gps handy set the cruise and place the needle back on. It is very touchy and just the slightest jerk will make it wrong. It took me about 5 tries to get the needle on where it needed to be. You cannot do this at a stop because the shaft of the speedo has no mechanical limit. That is what the little plastic peg is for; it stops the needle at zero. If that little peg wasn't there, the needle would go a ways below zero.

The main problem is that the ECU maps are still assuming stock cams. You will either need to buy the upgraded jwt ecu along with them or tune for them yourself. A favorite mod among the Japanese Terrano owners is to get the European spec cams and ECU. I seem to remember someone posting about the Euro cams on here about a year ago.

There would be little reason for you to think otherwise slick! This is the 90-95 section. Just in case people forgot where they clicked. lol

What does a squealing at startup indicate?
Indigent replied to BobLoblaw's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Torque converter? Really, it could be anything that turns, which is a lot of stuff. Too many to list. -
Pathy idling erratically - when clutch down, idle is high
Indigent replied to BobLoblaw's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
IF the IACV is bad it probably wont run any different than right now if you unplug it. There is a gasket on it and none of the parts stores could get it when I changed mine. I just made one. Buy yourself some of that gasket material that every auto parts store has and carefully trace and cut using the old one as a template. Have you tested the IACV? You can pull the plug that is by the oil filler cap and test the continuity of the solenoid in the valve. IIRC it should read 10 ohms. That will tell you if it is good electrically, but not mechanically. It is the only plug in that cluster there that has two wires. I belive they are orange and black. There is the possibility that there is a chunk of crap in there too, so pull it apart and inspect it. From your symptoms it sounds like it is sort of working but maybe just sticking or in need of lubrication. hope this helps indigent. -
There is a Japanese company called elford that makes a wide variety of aftermarket flares. I haven't had much luck finding them since I got back to the states though. They are all over auctions.yahoo.co.jp, but all of the listings state that they do not ship out of mainland Japan. check this link fender flare listings on yahoo japan I realize that wasn't very helpful, but try searching for elford. indigent.
