  1. I've got a TomTom One... Its my clock, my speedometer, and tells me where I'm going! Its great to get around traffic jams, etc. Since I have TomTom Plus I get traffic, weather, speed trap cameras, etc on mine. Now all I need is it to tell me where the cheapest gas station is and I'll be set.
  2. Is that winch mounted on that brush guard.. and ... where did you find it... its... beautiful...
  3. I've got the KYB GR-2 struts, and I dont have anything like that, but at full lock I can sometimes get my MTs to rub and make a similar sound...
  4. Been there, done that. Let it dry out for a few days and the lights will start going off on their own. Airbag light wont go off, wait untill you KNOW its dry then reset the airbag module with the door switch thingy... I've got all my lights back to normal now.
  5. I may not be an expert on the WDs, but uh... that brush guard doesnt look like its designed for a WD OR an R50...
  6. Jeez... its a shame that even adults still think you can "overdose on marijuana"... whats the worst that can happen, you have a panic attack and have to sleep it off? Big deal.
  7. Well, right now I'm pushing 220 on drivers (goes up to the roof), and 110 on the passenger (brush guard mounted). I guess I'm going to have to do something about that. I gave em a test run in my parking lot for a few minutes, and that fuse got incredibly hot, the cables got a bit warm, but nothing serious. I'll have to get some bigger gauge cables and wire a switch straight from the battery I guess. I did use them for a fairly extended period tonight when I got caught driving down the highway into a massive storm... I entered a wall of hail at 72mph (according to my gps) and dropped to about 27 once two cars a short distance in front of me slammed into each other and wiped out. The darkness that prevailed was incredible, so I flipped on the 330 watts of lighting and kept trudging through the rapidly flooding highway. Eventually everyone started putting their flashers on and pulling off to the side of the road, while I kept on boating right on through. I survived, so did my electrical system, I'm going to inspect my condensor/transmission cooler later on, I had to go straight through the crap all over the road from those two cars, and I could hear all kinds of stuff slamming into my brush guard, bumper, and getting crushed by my MTs. All in all, it was an interesting drive home from Sears... and all I wanted was some stuff to try fixing my house's air conditioner.
  8. How much can I power off those cables? I've been running 220 watts of lights off the drivers side cable, and now I went to run 110 watts off the passenger side, giving a total of 330 watts, but when I flipped the switch, I killed the 15 amp fuse under the hood, I popped a 30 amp fuse in and its fine, but is it going to put too much load on the cables or anything?
  9. My 1997 XE's transmission was $1795 if I remember correct, except I had *no* gears left.
  10. You know, just to add to this. One time I was over my bumper in water for a while, took some time for us to figure out how to get my Pathy out, and once I drove like 10 miles out of the woods, got a few miles down the road, almost every light came on... All kinds of @!*% started to light up. A few miles down the road, my transmission died for unrelated reasons.... Well, related to the water, not the lights. Apparently you should clean out your tranny cooler BEFORE driving 90mph down a highway. Either way, after a couple weeks the lights had all gone off on their own, except for the airbag light, which needed a reset.
  11. I got some wild rear lift, and mild front. So I just tossed those weights back there to balance it. Looks much better now.
  12. Myself, I just took 200lbs of weights from our gym and threw em in the trunk as far back as possible, and I moved everything that was in the trunk and had some weight to it as far towards the rear as possible, leaving the lighter things closer to the back seats, and its almost completely balanced. Once the rear sags some I figure I'll need to take the weights out...
  13. Yea. I see no reason to spend $100 on a lightbar that does the exact same thing, so I figured I'd give it a try, I went out and got a pile of the cheapest lights I could find (in case it didnt work), drilled 4 holes, bolted right in, and since it really made it look better I just left em there. Theyre wired into the stock fog light switch. I'm pretty good at coming up with mods without wasting alotta cash on em, gives you more money for the important things like a lift
  14. Look at the front, passenger side in front of the AC condenser, if you have an auxillary external one its a little black cooler over towards the bottom.. Otherwise its in the radiator... I replaced my itty bitty auxillary one with a Hayden 403 cooler, its more than twice the size of the last one, I just had my mechanic stick it in when he was doing my timing belt... Thats my Hayden, it was $50 or so, I'm not sure what installation cost.
  15. I have almost no tools, and very limited knowledge of how this stuff works, so this is a learning process here, but I didnt want to learn about what happens when shocks, struts, etc decide to come off when you're on a highway, so I felt it was better for my mechanic to do it. And yea, $200 front, $250 rear. Its a guy who seems to have unbeatable prices on everything, I didnt know if $450 was alot, but whatever -- sand in the wind man.
  16. OK OK OK. Here the pics are. I ran into a few problems. Lift installation went perfect. Cost $255 for installing the front, $200 for the back. Yea I know its alot, but I'd rather have it done in a couple hours, and done RIGHT than me try doing it and $#&% it up completely. So interesting story, I had been having some issues getting my engine to start lately, so I leave my mechanic's lot, drive home... Go to start my engine again later -- starter was completely dead. Cost me $300-some for a new one with installation and a lifetime warranty, but its a million times better now. Slowly becoming the ugly beast that could.... Anyway, to the pics: Pre-lift Post lift Getting a bit better every day. I also replaced a smashed bumper corner and bumper, AND corner light, and mounted two more lights on my brush guard. The official test is this weekend... We'll see how it goes. Oh, and nissandoms: I dont wanna hear it :tonguefinger:
  17. Nah.. but Max already made $100 off me. He had some taillight guards to get rid of for $60, well I ended up paypaling him $100 to ship me them.
  18. Monday at 8:45 I'm dropping all that and my Pathy off at my mechanic, then walking two blocks to where I am now (work), then they're going to work on it all day, then by the time I'm done at work at 5, it'll be done!
  19. Would getting one of those shift kits I've seen you mention before help this, or is it already probably too broken to save?
  20. I filled up at $2.89/gallon over here in Jersey, about 5 miles from Philly...
  21. I've got rebranded BFG MT 31x10.50x15s running on my 97 XE, and at full lock I get some rubbing sometimes, and I'm still on stock suspension..
  22. Bah. I dont know if thats even your paypal acct. I'll send ya an email with my address now.
  23. I'll take two white or white reflectives, if you have reflective. I see you want $12.70 USD for two, and I also see you arent making any profit off them, so enjoy the little extra you get off me I'm at work now, so I'll try to send ya some money through paypal, but I think its blocked here, may have to wait till I get home.
  24. OK. I guess no internal transmission problem is really a minor issue. I have a transmission thats about 370 days old. When my new mechanic replaced my transmission cooler and my speed sensor, he found metal shavings and burned fluid inside. The only problem that I've noticed is that if you accelerate, you go from 1st, to 2nd, then you have to ease off the gas to get into 3rd, but I always do that anyway from my stick days, so I never really noticed it.. Its been doing that for at least 8 months and hasnt gotten any better or worse... how serious of a situation is this? Since its lasted this long, as long as I dont change my driving habits, is it going to survive a while like this? My old mechanic said he is going to take it apart this week and most likely send it back to the place he outsourced it to and tell them they have to do it right this time..
