Dealt with that 2 years ago; and found the best way was to re-wire the boat trailer ($25 waterproof kit from Wal-lyWorld) and it has worked fine for 2 years (no splices to come and haunt me while I'm in the Northwoods also...)

3rd member diference in 87 auto and 89 manual
MikeV replied to TopOfTheLine89's topic in 86.5-89 WD21 Pathfinders
If they are both 4.6 (or 4.3) no need to touch the front if the 87 is 4.3 and the 89 is 4.6 (or vice-versa) yes you will have to either swap gears in the rear or swap the front and back both to keep the gearing matched. As Greg said check the codes on the plate to see -
stock gear ratio HELP!(tried searching)
MikeV replied to TopOfTheLine89's topic in 86.5-89 WD21 Pathfinders
if the gearing is the same then swapping the 3rd member is easiest in the how to's of the garage is a How to install a locker. It will fill you in on what is ahead. Not bad at all though, 'cept gear oil smells Get some PB blaster and start spraying the bolts for the rear sway and 3rd member. -
I don't know of any running without mufflers; wouldn't be a good story anyhow. alot are running hi-flow cats and non stock mufflers.

I'm making a mount to hold it; asked the very same question a week ago on AC!-) AC recommends a bungee cord... Next I need all the reflectors in my wheel spokes! Bungee will let it bounce around I'll send ya a few pics when I'm done. I need the swaybar for towing and highway driving (95% HWY for me) and @sspipes in Milwaukee can't drive. I just sawzalled the old ones out instead of wrenchin' rusty bolts

we have E85 stations around here but that stuff sucks, we have had a law for at least 10-15 years our gas is at least 10% ethanol due to pollution Utah is running the natural gas REAL cheap and the Aussies are using propane; India is using compressed air in their cabs

Good info; and I agree the update looks like @ss; I was having to refresh to see some pages as they would come up blank the first time (sporadic) BL is an easy and one of the best upgrades (makes other upgrades easier)
