  1. Vehicle Stability Control (VSC). Uses braking and engine power cuts to prevent you from getting out of control. I like to mess around occasionally when it snows and do donuts etc. I hate the damn thing. I wish I could rip it out of the truck. Also, I wish that in Canada you could get the Double Cab in the TRD Off Road package... would have been nice to have a locking rear diff. Nice looking Tacoma, uncc. I allllmost got white.
  2. It's a 4x4. I've got a backup camera, and when I put it in reverse I get an in-cab beep (once) to let me know, "dude... you missed 1st..." I hate the traction control thing though. I've lost the back end a couple times on ice and I naturally move to correct it. But the dang thing does its stupid traction control and starts braking trying to correct it, and making it pointless and almost dangerous to try and correct it manually.
  3. Thanks all. It's a pretty fun truck for sure. Nicest ride quality I've ever experienced. Not too sure why the fuel economy is so bad... it's only a 4.0L V6, with a 6spd manual... I'll be taking it offroad in the spring to go fishing etc. Payments aren't actually that bad, as I put a bunch of money down on it. But in the end.......................... I still have both of my Pathys Just gotta get the motivation to get stuff done on them and get the '94 trail ready. Yeehaw! Summer project.
  4. Been too busy to come on here and post pics. 100 hours of work per week is kiiiiiillling me.... At the dealership Snowwwww First wash I'll get better pictures when I have the time. In all honesty... I'm kind of half thinking of trading it in on something else... This thing is worse on fuel than my Pathy! I still love it though, but 15.5mpg avg is killing me.
  5. Dowser... way to rain on my parade bro! Sheeeeeeesh! I'm still getting it... and I'll be getting a super warranty.. also, one of our loyal clients at our fishing resort is the new vehicle sales manager at the dealership I'm buying from. So, hopefully I'll get treated better. If not, oh well. Pathy's were new from dealerships at one point.
  6. I'm buying new because I'm tired of used vehicles- I always get lemons. I'd much rather have a vehicle that didn't have a previous owner so I don't have to worry about how it may have been beat heavily offroad, or revved like crazy, or ran 10k miles over an oil change etc. I figure I'll have it for a long time, and the doublecab will be great for a family. Tacomas actually hold their value quite well. Obviously you wont get the whole value out of it, but imo, they hold their value much better than Fords etc. Tacomas are also the cheapest option out there right now, for new trucks... where I live, at least...
  7. Well, I still own my '90 and '94 SE's, but I just ordered a new ride... Now that I've transferred to a different ambulance station where I can actually make some money, I've decided to get a new truck. 2011 TRD Tacoma Double Cab, 6spd manual. Hopefully I'll have time to work on the '94 and get it trail ready for having fun in, and loving Will probably have pics when it arrives in early November...
  8. I've given up on the Pathy, actually... I'm getting into a 2011 TRD Tacoma, double cab 6spd :) But I'll be keeping the Pathys for a combination of both in hopes to produce something evil.

  9. Having the glass completely out is wonderful Though, remember that it's out before you hit 5" deep puddles at 50m/hr....
  10. Because he's a newbie, and the search engine sucks for everyone.... Here ya go. Rear Spring Options Re-indexing and cranking torsion bars for front end lift. Should run you just the cost of Jeep Grand Cherokee coils (or whatever you choose from the list). My coils from an auto wrecker were $40 each. Enjoyyyyy.
  11. The FX4 may need to run a 17" or larger wheel perhaps? No idea, but the difference may make a difference, ie. the 16" wont fit? Go back to the dealership and tell them.. AFAIK it's 'against the rules' for a dealership to send a vehicle out without a spare tire and the means to change it.
  12. What make are the speakers, and what amp are you planning on running? A 50x4 RMS amp with the 35W RMS and 60W RMS speakers would honestly be fine. As long as you keep your gains down, you should be good to go.
  13. So did I. It was meant to be temporary but worked out well. I had it that way for 4 years
  14. With the combination of the Trail Master lift, cranking the t-bars, and new coils... you can essentially get 7" of lift. Correct me if I'm wrong, guys. Pair that up with a 3" body lift and you're sittin 10" higher But, with lifts like that, you're gonna be wearing stuff out a lot quicker, so you know...
  15. I really hope the LCA isn't bent... if it is, then I'm gonna be in for A LOT of work...
  16. I'll go out and take some measurements everyone. Thanks for the suggestions. I'd use something other than WD40 if I had something else Unfortunately, my dad used up the last of my stuff when he was working on the tractor. Booo!
  17. Thing is, the tensioner is already in the right spot. If I moved the t-bar forward further, into the LCA, wouldn't that make it so the tensioner is in the wrong spot? Does that make any sense? I'll go WD40 up those 3 nuts on the plate right now and let em soak for a bit before I try and crack em. Thanks for the suggestion!
  18. So, I stumbled upon some motivation to get my Pathy back on the road... After a full day of pulling my old body lift out, disassembling a bit of my old Pathy, pulling my old Pathys t-bar crossmember out, dealing with mosquitos and 90 degree heat, I started to work on my new one. About a month ago I bought a '94 that I was going to fix up a little bit with the parts from my '90. I re-indexed my t-bars and cranked them a bit, threw in my JGC coils and decided to call it good, until I had time to pull the body lift out of my '90. A short distance from my home, my drivers side t-bar popped out of the LCA, and I had to get it towed home. I took a good look at the crossmember and convinced myself that it must be bent or something, and since I have another Pathy, why not swap out the crossmembers to see. Yesterday I swapped crossmembers, and the drivers side t-bar still won't seat properly. There's still quite a bit of the splines showing, and I don't like it. I've convinved myself now, that the previous owner must have jumped it or hit something with the front end and the LCA is bent...? Here are some pics... Driver side t-bar Passenger side t-bar Any ideas?
  19. Yea man, that'd be sweet to get together and wheel. My Pathy has been outa comission for a little while, gotta get the motivation to work on 'er. Probably by the end of this month she'll be ready. Not too sure if I'll go hard on this one though, my last one got demolished :D

  20. Really all you need to know about fibreglassing is the following: Make sure there are no wrinkles in the fabric you're stretching (unless you want to do A LOT of sanding and filling) Make sure you mix your resin appropriately Be sure that, if you want a nice finish, to spend a lot of time sanding and filling. Then spend some more time sanding and filling. Gauge pods don't need to be structural, so resin soaked fabric is fine. No matting is really needed here. Take your time, plan ahead, and wear long sleeves and a respirator or particle mask while sanding. And, have fun I did tweeter pods on my a-pillars without any glassing experience. If you follow the tips listed above, you'll be totally fine.
  21. I believe they're 5x7's. I pulled them out and they're definitely not 6x9s. I'd put money on them being 5x7's.
  22. When I did my motor swap, I didn't bother putting my AC back in. Twas a simple fix and I now sport a headache free AC system.
