  1. Everything was perfect before the wheel came off. Torsion bars are equal. The LCA link that goes back to the frame is the culprit I think. The drivers side is about 3/8" further towards the rear of my Pathy, which would give it the "toe-out" and explain pulling left (in my opinion)... Gonna get my buddy to weld me some cups onto my fram for my new bushings to fit into, because the hole in the frame is pretty big (from the previous bushings being worn to nothing). We shall see if it fixes it. Wont have an update for a bit though, they have to order the part in.
  2. Aye, I'll check out my steering and TRE's. Tire pressure should be the same, I just got them from a tire shop. I haven't checked, but I'm sure they're good. Hopefully it isn't something with the LCA itself... that could get expensive.
  3. A year ago my drivers front tire came off while driving down a dirt road. My rotor and LCA slammed into the road, digging a 3" deep trench... I put my spare on, and drove it home, which was only about a mile away. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. I figured I was really lucky nothing got messed up. It has been parked ever since, because I couldn't afford new tires and insurance. Now I have put new tires and wheels on, and insured it. I took it for a little cruise today after bleeding my brakes to test them out, and noticed that she's pulling pretty hard to the left. Definitely not what I was wanting. Not too sure what it is at this point, but it seems possible that the LCA link that goes back to the frame may be the issue. Seems as though the bushings at the frame (that I had replaced the day my tire came off) are quite compressed. My thinking is that the link was allowed to move rearward, producing somewhat of a "toe-out" type alignment on that side. Not sure, but that bushing needs replacing now. I will replace it and see if there's any change. Keep ya updated! Oh, and pics to come of the new shoes and stereo installation. 15x8 Black Daytona's with 31x10.50 Goodyear Wrangler Territories. Looks good.
  4. Well, finally I went for it.... new tires and rims on the way. I have the tires already and I get em mounted on my rims Wednesday. Fiiinnnnally. Goodyear Wrangler Territory's 31x10.50 and 15x8 Daytonas. Pretty much the cheapest way to go, but I'm cool with it. The tires look gnarly, and for the price... I couldn't go wrong. I'll have pics up on Thursday or something.
  5. If you want to remove the whole pod, then you'll have to pop off the top "screened" part, then pry off the plastic that surrounds the 'pod'. If I remember correctly each pod has two pieces? Been over a year since I tinkered with mine, and I don't have my rig nearby. Once you do that, there will be four screws that you can remove, and pull the pod off the side panel. There's a white connection behind that pod, if you decide to put your good speakers in there and they are amped, I would suggest bypassing that plug.
  6. To show my appreciation for this forum being started, and the huge amount of support I've received through various members on here. I plan to make the 6 hour trek next year to attend. I'm now working two jobs, and have been away from the forum for a while now (HEY ALL!). My career has started now and I'm making a little bit of spending money, so I'll be working on the Pathy in what time off I have, to get it ready for the trails this fall. Good job everyone! Congrats on the reuniting, Jim! Welcome back! Really cool to see people come together like this. This IS in the Seattle area, correct?
  7. What about the sensor? Would that be located in the x-pipe then?
  8. Seems quite involved to replace wheel studs. What a PITA.
  9. Pull the disk? So I have to take it all apart starting from the outside, which involves taking out the hub? Or can the disk be removed with all of that intact and pull the studs out with the plate thing in its original position?
  10. Well, after my wheel came off while cruisin down a dirt road, I've got some fixes to do. My wheel studs are stripped like crazy and I need to replace them. I got new studs, but cannot figure out how to get them out. Do I have to take my hub off and then slide the wheel stud mounting plate thing off? I'm so stuck. My search function isn't working either.. thanks for the help!
  11. Ahhh the joys of being a recent graduate. I wish those days hadn't come and passed already.. Enjoy them while they last, man. I'm 21, and that kinda stuff never happens anymore. It stopped when I was almost 20, haha.
  12. Thats what I was wanting to do was true dual exhaust, no y-pipe or anything. But how is it possible without messing up the sensor... hmmm...
  13. I've got a pretty bad leak right under my tranny anyway.. and I rarely smell it.. haha
  14. Haha very true.. it is a Pathfinder, who knows what could go wrong... the tires might fall off!
  15. Yes, but it's after the collector, isn't it?
  16. I wonder if it would matter if it were only reading off of 3 cylinders instead of 6. In theory it shouldn't... since the reading should be the same, yes? Just 2x the gas...
  17. Son of a. So it's not possible to re-locate the sensor?
  18. Is there any possible way to remove the exhaust sensor so the engine doesn't run crappy? I was thinking of getting pacesetter headers, getting a flowmaster welded on either side, and having it dump right behind the front doors, like what you see on Landcuisers sometimes. I want to do something new with my exhaust, something that not alot (if any) have. And since I don't do much city driving, or rock crawling... I don't think that exhaust fumes in the cab would be anything to worry about really. Anyone care to chime in with their thoughts?
  19. Everything seems fine, surprisingly.. Just a couple rocks in my rotor, and a compressed bushing... the one I just changed. Maybe that compression bent something in the LCA, but it doesn't look like it. I think everything is fine. I'll double check all joints to make sure she's sound. Really, I wasn't going that fast, and gravel/dirt roads are pretty forgiving.
  20. Thing is, there was no warning. I've felt loose lug nuts before, and it usually wobbles a bit and makes noise... but there was no warning, just a bang and grinding sound as my brake dug into the dirt and gravel road.. then the vision of a tire.
  21. You can all laugh all you wanted. You should have seen me after I got out of my rig. I would have been rolling on the ground laughing if it weren't for traffic. Hahaha. It was really wierd seeing it RIGHT next to me, because I have no doors on it right now and I was just cruising on our dirt road. Although, it DID happen when I was going probably 60km/hr. I'm still laughing about it... I think it's my way of "coping"... since I have no money now, and that's my only vehicle..
  22. Grey Goose is pricey... at least up here in Canaduh. Personally, I would go with Smirnoff... Vodka is Vodka is Vodka. If I was feeling like drinking something people don't always drink at highschool parties, I'd go with Absolut. Absolut is great. Even better yet, why not get a bottle big enough for two, and you two share it? Thats what I used to do, and it worked great. What about Goldshlick (sp?), Evan?....
  23. I think I have found the reason why I was put on this earth; To do completely stupid things so other people (and myself) can learn from my mistakes. First it was going through puddles at higher than needed speeds, swamping a motor. Then, it was procrastinating, "it's just a minor squeak, I'll check it out later" to find out that my LCA link was almost worn through. And just today.... EVERY TIME YOU TAKE YOUR TIRE(S) OFF, DOUBLE CHECK YOUR LUG NUTS TO ENSURE THEY'RE TORQUED DOWN! Although I gotta admit, it WAS pretty sweet seeing my tire go whizzing by me, then to disappear off a bank, and to reappear after it hit a huge rock and skyrocketed 30 feet in the air. Kinda like watching those videos on AFV or Real TV... So, after replacing the LCA links, and putting new bushings in... my truck was ready for the road again. Now it looks like I may need a new LCA, and brake assembly... We shall see.
  24. I don't see how BL's are such a pain... I didn't have to adjust one thing when I did mine. Rad hoses stayed put, rad stayed put, shifters didn't need lengthening, gas filler and vent hose were fine.. only thing I had to do was unbolt my power steering pump and watch my lines.
