  1. alright, just warning you. youre gonna need some quick disconnects called weather packs. go over on 4x4parts.com's forum and pm a guy named ricahrdz_nc about how he did his on his fronty
  2. id be careful if its a r50, as they are unibody and the doors are a large part of chasis ridgidty, same thing with jeep xj's
  3. local car wash guys know me and wont even touch my rig. always spouting bs excuse about my roof rack, radio antenna, cb antenna, lift height, etc. they say that i have to much mud and that i'd clog every filter. got tired of my driveway looking like a desert so i just use the local spray bays. not reallly into waxing anyways, just hate rubbing up against the dry mud when i'm wearing white.... why the hell am i still typing....hhhaha
  4. slick, i didnt know that there were so many speed bumps around the mall that you need a belly skid? hahaha jk
  5. i know dozens of trucks with anywhere from 4cyl to big v8's and almost all of them use flowmaster 40s. about $60 a pop and sound very good, and take a beating off road. a buddy basically sat his muffler on a rock and there was little more than a dent, didnt even crush it.
  6. nice man. after i get my trailmaster lift on and new header back exaust system this summer i'm gonna bend up a full skid out of 3/16" from my fairlead, down my bumper supports and back to the back of the tcase. reference my sig pic to see what i'm talking about. that angle iron idea is pretty good, i'll have to incorporate it in mine!
  7. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BODY-LIFT-B...sspagenameZWDVW you'll still need to get bolts that are 3" longer, and some hardware stores might not have the right metric size and grade. also needed is a gas filler extension, gas vent hose, 2 power steering pump hoses and a new upper radiator hose, dont know how much cheaper it will be, and you wont have bumper relocation brackets or in structions
  8. hahaha glad to see i'm not the only person who gets excited when wrenching on their truck. i just unclipped the bottom from the top, and i'm running without it, no over heating problems as of yet. eventually i'll get around to putting the efan in
  9. well update on the project: so after 5 busted knuckles the tcase is still in there by the 3 top studs. anyone know how to get those out easily? tbars out, driveshafts out. 9 hours of work. now i see why the mechanic wanted 1400 to do it. also, the horrific fact emerged yesterday that the manual and auto tcases are different. were were just gonna swap from case covers, but to do that, you have to dissasemble the whole thing it looks like. so it looks like monday i'll be calling around to drivetrain shops and asking them to rebuild the case i have in there now with all the parts he needs out of the manual tcase. so far this is costing me $150+whatever the rebuild will be. hopefully in the end it will be less than the 1400 though, and that was the goal.... Pickles: no worries, i wasnt in the position to drive up there anyways, and didnt have anytransportation. i was kinda busy the bpast few days with the whole tcase thing. 87: the tcase that i will have, will be in pieces and have broken parts, as my description above most likely. your welcome to it, i'll get back to you once this is all done and over with.
  10. i wouldnt say they were great, but with the open lug, they got me about 30 feet farther than my friend with the regular style AT's. when you get to tires of this size, $100 is way cheap. to get a good all terain its about 130-140, while a good mud terrain is 160+
  11. yeah man, youre welcome to it. i was gonna take the stick out and modify it for a bodylift and sell it, butlet me know if you want it, i'll letit go for cheap. hell, throw in a few bucks with those trailing arms and its yours.
  12. yeah man, i have those tires. theyve lasted about 10,000 miles with proper inflation and rotation. they are a fast wearing tire, but they were cheap. hope you like them more than i do. cant wait to get them off, horrible in snow, ice, and wet roads even though theyre siped.
  13. yeah, my pathy, named cathy, hates me. shes a cold hard bitch sometimes. pickles, you planning on pulling those trailing arms from 87's old axle still?
  14. cracked one? no, i broke my drive chain yesterday. not fun at all, especially hearing that the tx10 can take a beating and not break
  15. i'm pretty sure i'm the first person ever to break the nissan transfer case. this unit has 120,xxx and was used by an old grandma. went in 4wd twice in its career, until a friend buoght it after it was totaled for parts. hopefully this one wont break on a logging road like my last one. hell, i didnt even do anything coll to make the last one break....
  16. cant argue with free. sounds good to me man, let me know if youre 100%
  17. good point, i was planning on just going slowly. are the ones you have the tubular or the dogbone-style? me driving up north wont likely be hanppening, especially with this problem. i'm all the way down in the SW, right north of portland in vancouver.
  18. hey hey, that was my idea exactly! i was gonna weld a bead all the way down the side though.... just for kicks, how much is one down there at your yard? and yes, i've been driving on it for a couple weeks now, no weird drivability problems have cropped up.
  19. i'm trying man, no one is parting out any pathys around here, and the local wrecker wants $40 for a new one. 88, you have a spare or one at the wrecker for cheaper?
  20. what do you guys think? hahaha yeah, i'm an idiot. think i'm gonna get a new one and weld on either some angle iron or half-tube to kinda brace/slider it. funny thing is i didnt notice until i washed my car today, and i'm sure it happened the last few times i went out, which was 1-2 weeks ago.
  21. haha ok, throwing that out the window..... heres the new design. probably gonna turn it into an air tank as well, put alittle less strain on the compressor. 2"x4"x.25", incorporated hitch for light use, air tank, yada yada yada...
  22. whats so bad about it? what design were you trying to do?
  23. look at my sig for the one i made. i'm planning on making a rear bumper of siniliar lines with an inegrated hitch out of 6" c-channel. i have it all drawn up, but its on the computer at school.
  24. right on. you guys dont forsee any problems with that a pillar tweeter getting in the way?
  25. anyone have a source for 93 Pathfinders?
