i also hate stick, but tig takes a lot, i mean i lot of talent....you have to be really good...and because hes doing it himself, MIG would be the way to go...tig i think is too easily messed up...and i believe i was told at one point in my life that not many body shops use tigs when doing their work..they use MIG...oh well maybe im wrong
-
do not tig weld. mig welding is much more common and stronger and will look better in the end, because tig welding is more time consuming, and also is a smaller bead. Mig welding when done, and grinded donw, will look better, and will take much less time!!!! thats just my two cents....

question for a friend about a throttle body spacer
sammyb33 replied to sammyb33's topic in General Forums
ok yes..his pathy is barely a baby.... it barely has over 60XXX miles, so new lifters, springs and others wouldnt neccessarily be needed. But still he and i talked about it, and since the quoted price 98 gave me/him was so high he said he wanted to lift it, and get some tires, maybe go for exhaust first!! Thanks for all your help, but vicks i would still like to hear what you meant by what you said -Sam -
question for a friend about a throttle body spacer
sammyb33 replied to sammyb33's topic in General Forums
what do you mean? is it because they dont work with multi port injections??? yea i kno he does also want a free flowing exhaust (or more so of one) and the cams, how much do they run you? because he seems to be extremely tight with his money, i saw a brush guard, taillight guard and step rail package on ebay...for like 100 bucks..he said no....so wondering how much the cams are would help him in this decision, because i can put them in for him, i have the place and tools to do it...so thats not a problem... -Sam -
i am looking to get an ARB (maybe) or just gettin a front hitch mount, and gettin a winch mount that can be removed...or moved to the rear...anywho...just wondering what types of winches you all think are the best for the moeny, because i do not want to pay that much and end up with a terrible product!!! thanks again!! -Sam

question for a friend about a throttle body spacer
sammyb33 replied to sammyb33's topic in General Forums
thats exactly what i said...because i have the WD21 model..i had no clue about the R50 models...so i was just curious what you all thought!! thanks...and heres another quesiton, is there another mod out there that helps in performance for the R50s????if so this would be greatly appreciated!!! -Sam P.S. i have also been trying to get Jeff (the friend im talkin about)on this site but he says he dont like using the net...whatever..... -
My friend who has an 1999 Pathy, was thinking about purchasing a throttle body spacer as his newest upgrade. He asked me what i thought, and having barely any knowledge on the subject thought best to ask the people who would kno the answer to this question..."Are the gains worth the money i am going to put down for this spacer?" any help would be much appreciated!!!! -Sam

slick, do you even have one guard on your pathy? i mean i havent seen many pictures of yours and was just curious you said you had 2 to unload, why havent you got one on ur finder????
-
i was walkin around the junkyard the other day, lookin around...they had a few pathys. Lookin for a open diff instead of the limited slip. But anyway i was lookin around and saw that one of the finders had been in a fender bender (well bad crash) but had a brush guard on in. I see all the time on this board that people are fabing up thier own versions of guards and was just wondering because this one is kinda bent, but i believe the center "grille guard" is fine, maybe a bent tab don below, but you could use this to become your own fab. So if anyone is interested i can go get some picutes and then maybe ship it to you or something (i live in northern VA) but i would love to help someone out!!! I actually have the same type of guard on my finder (not bent of course) and i think it looks great!!! P.S. i believe the guy at the yard said he would let me have it (free), he dosent want to fool with trying to get it straight again....

ok lookin around at some suspension lifts, lookin at going to normal route, ucas, jgc coils, tbars later, shocks....then i was wheeling with my friend and his cherokee the other day after he had just put on his OME shocks and other equipment. I got to wondering because supriseingly it did quite well, kept traction, ex. So i went looking and OME makes a 1.75 lift for pathies..which is really all i want, not going to much bigger, so i was wondering if anyone had heard about these on a pathy, because it looks like a pretty good idea, so any input would be much appreciated..... -Sammy

i have seen the R50s off road...bone stock...and it was terrible...i could not believe it was still a pathfinder...i have a 95..and with 31s it dosent do that badly...i can go farther then the explorers around me, and many jeeps, so im happy
-
i have the legos on my pathy right now...but prob within the month i am upgrading to steel 15x8s so yes...if you wish to pay a little for them, and for shipping maybe we can work something out.....
-
thanks a bunch guys...i really appricaite the input!! and yes, i consider myself an ok fab/mechanic, but i will have my friend helping..hes the one with the huge garage!! yea the problem might just be gettin everything together to do the swap...thanks again
-
i thought it had to do with the differnt types of pahtys...i thought that the 21 gallon only came with the " off road edition"....with the limited slip, and other misc. things....cuz yea mines only like 18 gallons...

ok guys...i bought a 95 SE automatic, and hate it..(the transmission that is). I really wish i would have held out for a manual but the deal was there. So i was just wondering if a swap to a manual was possible, and if it was (fairly) feasable. So just wondering if anyone had done it, or if anyone had any ideas!!!!
