  1. how do you expect to sell her for very much with bent valves? i think with all the work you have put into her, you should just get the valve work done, and enjoy, i mean she is YOUR truck, no one elses, that is hard to find.....
  2. DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO, DONT LET US TELL YOU WHAT TO DO!!! AND USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION!!!! sorry, i did not mean to get mad, its just why would we tell u what to do, ARB style bumpers provide more protection, while "nissan" brush guards provide protection, they may do more damage in a wreck then they are really worth
  3. yea vsicks, heavy duty vs. light duty...factory nissan vs. ARB
  4. after seeing all of the pictures, i honestly wouldnt have bought that rig. sorry man, way toooooooo much rust. since you have the fenders off (well the whole front end off) you should fab up a snorkel. Since its gettin warmer here, thats my next project, PVC snorkel
  5. DSM_guy, i totally agree with you, i would much rather have an ARB style bumper/brush guard, but as money is tight, the bolt on does nicely. and yes, i do also agree that in a crash, the bolt on would F#$k up more things then not. but i like mine none the less
  6. i disagree. I have the nissan brush guard, and honestly it has protected my bumper many times,(the lower half that is) approach angle is kind of sacrificed, but i enjoy the fact that i can set the front on the ground, and not worry about ripping my bumper off. i do agree that an ARB or other replacement bumper/brush guard would be much much better in an accident, and does look better, its just i dont have the money just yet. So for me, i enjoy having my little bolt on up there.....
  7. to be honest with you all, i think that looks ridiculous. it looks unproportional, and yes i wonder how much fender rub he gets, not to mention, zero power pulling those tires. Overkill to me on an IFS. In my eyes, a SAS would have been the better way to go. Especially if you say he got all of the work done at some shop. Oh well, again, to each his own, just my 2 cents.
  8. wow thats crazy, 65 miles....geez.....maybe i should get one....
  9. so is money not a problem? if so go to purenissan.com (Calmini, they make great kits, so i hear) if money is a problem, go looking for some UCA'a (upper control arms) that allow for the 3 inch lift. Rough Country, Calmini, AC all sell them, i am sure there are a few more, but i cannot think of them right now. Then for the rear suspension just get some jeep grand cherokee front coil springs, placed in the rear of our vehicles provide about 3 inches of lift. AC also sells a 3 inch lift kit. go to www.4x4parts.com Calmini 3 inch www.purenissan.com im sure there are more, but those options seem to be most common. as for your other question, the carpet. i honestly would just get some new carpet. Honestly i dont like the look of a vehicle that has rhinolined flooring, unless it is strictly an off road vehicle (i used underbody coating on my bronco (strictly farm use)) if you want more protection on your interior, get some good rubber floor mats, seat covers, and possibly a cargo mat, thats what i use, and it works great.... have fun with your project man, sounds like it should be lots of fun
  10. eh, if he wants to spend that much, and well once you are done, it is YOUR truck. you put the money into it, making it how you wanted it, id say that really isnt that bad of a price, hell, i paid 6700 for mine...
  11. you have never heard that? i can not believe it....
  12. yes i do agree, SAS would be pretty high on my list if i was stripping, and sandblasting my frame....replacing almost everything on the front end....yea i would swap out that IFS....oh well "different strokes for different folks"....
  13. i think i may be able to answer your quesstion vsicks......an ungodly amount.... either way, that is a large amount of money, and work, enjoy, and hope all goes well!!
  14. yes welcome, hello, i am from the shenandoah valley, (winchester to be specific)!!! YAY ANOTHER VIRGINIAN!!!!
  15. electronic LSD???? never, ever heard of this, anyone have pics of it? how you engage it? how it works?
  16. yea i was kinda wondering the same thing, i have never heard of a 4 inch body lift. But eh, maybe it is ok, who knows, i just have never liked just body lifted vehicles, put suspension on if your gonna wheel your rig....
  17. ok, i also heard "thuds" comming from what i thought was my suspension. It turned out to be my spare tire carrier. I had to replace the bushings, and that fixed the sound. I too also thought this was something either contacting in the suspension, or flat out bottoming out (highly unlikely but i thought i would check every possibility). So here is a link from an earlier post about changing out the bushings. LINK
  18. i kno this prob should be in the Parts section, but i thought more people would see it here...saw it and just thougth people might be interested!!! It is modified for a 3 inch body lift already...so maybe even better for someone!!! LINK
  19. yes Mr. P that was my suspicion after i was told they did not make fairings for pre 96. yes, i was looking at buying a yak now, and possibly getting a fairing and doing exactly that. Thanks for all the input guys...
  20. ok, i thought i had seen one or two that actually had "NISSAN" written on them, maybe not. But what i am looking for is a basket, since i have the factory rack, i would like something like this, which is a yakima rack... LINK
  21. ok i was looking around the other day, and really was looking for a good looking functional roof rack. I am not going to be putting my spare up there, but i go camping a lot, and a rack would be very helpful. So not a lot of gear has to go up there, but it will be used. I have seen a few people with the wind deflectors that say Nissan on them, and was just wondering where those people got them, and if they got them from the dealership. I know the dealership prices are amazingly high compared to others, but i always like the look of factory, so price (if it's at the dealership) is not a problem. Thanks in advance, -Sam
  22. and i dont care...im going to purchase it
  23. apparently with the crazy new concept "tyres" you would not need recovery equip.!!! ha ha....still i think it looks pretty cool...even tho it wont happen...oh well....
  24. and we get it...sometimes you pee in the sink...geez....
