  1. UPDATE!!! SO I got the batt and charging system checked. ANd they were ok. Put some belt tensioner on there and it seems to have helped. Last night I decided to get a little mud on a trail nearby. as I'm going down the bumpies I notice that my headlights are severly diming and brightening over and over. Needless to say I turned around and hightailed it home. Once on the smooth pavement no problems. This mean that I have a loose connection probably or a bad alternator?
  2. Good points. I'll have to try some stuff to see what works. Thanks
  3. So that last one is magnetic eh? Think I could utilize that in the winter since my starter likes to freeze up? It seems that something like that on the inner fender would to the trick. Am I mistaken?
  4. Wow, I'm smart. I'm cheching the voltage and it seems good, ground reads 0V so I decide to try the battery. Yup I put the leads across both terminals! My meter started smoking and I think it might be toast now. -thnkboutit- God! What a f*****g Noob thing to do. I really shouldn't be allowed to open my hood. Way to go me!
  5. Plus you might get the attention of the Po-Po's since you will no longer have running lights. If you swapped the bulbs that would take care of it though, right? I read somewhere that you can splice your corner lights into the turn signal circut and run all four for added visibility. It seemed simple enough, just disconnect the corner lights' power lead and splice it into the power lead of the turns and there ya go. -study-
  6. Well my charging light and brake light have been coming on simultaneously these past few weeks. They would click on while driving (hot or cold) and go off after a minute or so. While they come on all the lights dim a bit and that slight constant squealing noise from the engine bay goes away. The RPMs drop slightly as well. This morning the charging light flickered on/off about 20 times really fast like a kid playing with a light switch. It freaked me out so I didn't go to work fearing getting stranded on I90 at 5:30 am. I thought that my alt is going bad but I guess it could be something like a voltage regulator or a battery issue? The belt has a little bit of movement but less than 3/4 of an inch. Where are the connections I should look at on the alt? If it is the alt going bad I think I'll look for one out of a Max. since I can't fab up new brackets in my apt. :help:
  7. Woohoo! This time I wasn't the one to F it all up! Yipee! We still on for today or nay?
  8. G0ddamn DCI Internet!!!!!!! I HATE CHENEY!!!! You sure got a perty bumper thar fella. Damn, when can I get mine? And will this be mounted up by Sunday so I can see?? -bounce- What are you thinking for a coating? Somehting like a Line-X or Rhinolining would be good probably.
  9. Welcome to the board. Good looking rig, except for that motor, of course. What are your plans for it?
  10. MWaahaahaaa But yeah, I say do it. Hell, if for no other reason than to see what all is involved so we can do it to my rig, then Thomas's, then Jeff's then James's (if he ever returns)
  11. Do I? Huh? Do I? -bounce- I think there could be a brownie point system we could rig up. Like truck of the month, but its "converter" of the month or something. BTW, has anyone considered a NPORA MySpace page? It could be a great recriuting tool. Just a thought
  12. I'm afraid of it. You don't think that whatever disease it has is contageous, do you? :o Though, I don't think my engine bay will ever be that clean...nor do I want it to be.
  13. I second that motion! Just Ask Casey.T what I'm talking about.....Though, the bolts that didn't break turned out to be a big pain, just in another way hmm
  14. Good thing that you're ok. I trust that you whipped out a .300Win mag and shot out that SOB's tires as he tried to get away.... :X sly
  15. Ummm, yeah This is good to hear as I hope to replace the hubs someday. OK, its settled. I'm buying snap ring pliers!!!!
  16. Ah, thanks. Next question. What the hell are snap ring pliers for? Or maybe I should ask, am I ever going to use this tool again after the tranny fluid flush?
  17. 'Tis true, and someday I hope to get one..........someday
  18. I JUST found the thread about the manual trans fluid problem where you need snap ring pliers to remove the shift boot cover to add more fluid. I found the tool on summit for ten bucks. Can I get it cheaper elsewhere? Nevermind, schucks has 'em cheaper.
  19. I voted XE because that's what I have. 'course it has all the power bells and whistles of the SE but that wasn't my decision, I blame Hertz for that one. I would prefer mostly manual things like windows, locks and mirrors. The LSD is nice, though. I just wish it had disc brakes and a roofrack. Who needs chrome and leather, this is a truck. It aint supposed to be perty, right?

    I've got gas

I should have looked at this earlier, damnit. I skipped work today and everything!! Well I work Saturday and Sunday 6am-4pm. Tomorrow's good after 4 unless you're too beat from Silverwood, you lucky dog.
  21. I do want to upgrade the wiring and use heavier guage wires and relays. That will be the first step. I think that the improved output will be better served with superior optics eventually, though. Z, from what I understood, the only hardbody parts required are the grill, parking lights and headlight buckets. Is the hood really required for this change?
  22. I emailed DS and he was quick to get back to me on the issue. I've believed that TUV lights are superior for some time and I want to install them on the Pathy. I figure its going to cost me about $250 for the complete deal which includes the grill, marker lights and headlight buckets off a hardbody as well as E Code lights, quality H4 bulbs and a relay kit from DS. If anyone has completed the swap, was it worthwhile?

To quote Beanie in Old School, "Still holding! Still holding!" The stuff we got is a two part putty that you mix together and stick on the hole. It is still there and working. -bounce- So the question is should I replace it with that JB patch? And will JB still hold since this leak is on the bottom of the tank at the lowest point? (meaning that it will never be dry unless pulled out and drained.) How's the eye today?? :X I'm surprized I didn't hear one of these :furious:
