stock wheel backspacing is 4.75" right? steel wheels right? Calmini recently posted a chart and thier page saying you can fit 32's w/o rubbing witn thier 3" lift with wheels that have 5" - 5-1/2" backspacing. Calmini Tire Chart procomp doesn't make the Series 51 rock crawler rims in 5" - 55" backspacing it has to do with the integrity of the wheel they do have 3.75" backspacing but thats not enough.. so what so i do .. i call them and they can do custom backspacing but for dealers only... they say they can do probably 4.5" backspacing on that rim at 15"X8" wide. would anyone else be interested in those wheels? i don't know if anyone remembered when i was trying to figure out a business name...well it's comming together so i'll probably be able to have these wheels made trying to fit 32's w/o trimming... i won't ask any more?'s i know it's been beat to death...i'm hoping 4.5" backspaing will be enough thanks for any input on this.

SteeevO replied to SteeevO's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
have you heard of someone killing thier ecu this way? cause 12v in parallel with 12v = 12v but w/e my ecu is still alive thats all that matters and about ther sereo stuff... i have a friend that runs nearly all fosgate stuff.. sounds good.. but not as good as JL's or eclipse -

SteeevO replied to SteeevO's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
yeah i read that but i wasn't sure if it was the same problems.. i'm guessing it's the alternator. i'll probably be getting one rewound for more power or one from a/c -
where it all began... last week i put in my wiz bang stereo (PPI amp & kicker L7 sub) everything was fine for a few days.. a firend put in a CD with a remix that was SUPPOSED to hit really hard.. right as the bass was gonna hit.. the stereo shut off....then came back on as soon as it started to play again .. it would shut off.. so right now i don't even listen to the stereo.. also from that first time it turned off.. i have dim headlights and the dim with each flash of the blinkers and a WACKED out Temp guage... it goes 3/4 of the way up with the lights on and is a lil high w/o the lights on. i really don't think the engineis as hot as the guage says.. i think it's an electricl probelm since it has only happend since the radio shut off... i was thinking my alternator went but i started the pathy and then disconnected the battery and it still runs... a stereo shop said it's prolly my battery but i think it's my alternator... or maybe even both... but why would the temp guage be all retarded like that? thanks ahead of time..

today i got outta the pathy and started to take a look around as i do once in a while and i noticed that the nuts that are on each side of the UCA's were lose.. i know i had a torque wrench when i tightend these down to 75 ft/lbs so just wanted everyone to keep a look out for loose nuts.... -Steven

thanks guys! so how do i take out the shaft ends from the spindles? they don't just slide out do they? there must be something holding it from just sliding out at it's own free will... i'll also look in the FSM thanks again

i have a hydraulic table jack that i will put it on.. and the diff is already mounted on the cross members.. i'm taking out one crossmember and replacing it with the one that has teh diff bolted to it. Yes the tranny and transfercase have been swapped out.. i have been driving it like this for a good 4K mi. i would like to use my LCA's but i didn't know how hard it would be to pull the spindles appart from the axles.. so are they just splines? they just slide out? i guess i'll look at the FSM. so basically the question is, 1)should i take off the torsions and LCA's then raise everything into place or 2)should i take the spindles off and raise in the diff and and angle the axels through where they need to be then attach the spindels on after. i'm going to weld the 2 brackets on for the 2nd cross member after everything is lifted into place that way i can verfiy that where and brackets are and where they should be are the same place.. instead of having them welded and finding out something a tweaked a lil and diddn't match up right.

so i just got over my broken leg, but i have no place to work right now. my dad is in the middle of a divorce and i hate to have to get up and move everything in middle of a paroject.. although i will have to move and engine and a bunch of other old parts.. RAR anways...if i can figure out the fastest way to do this. i could probably get this done at a friends house. ok so the front drivatrain is all together i took it out of another pahty as one piece(the diff, axels, spindls, rotors, hubs, LCA's) so now i want to get this entire thing in as one piece.. what would be the easiest way to get it on with minimal disasembly on the pathy. should i just drop out the torsion bars and take off the current LCA's and raise it in or is there a better way someone can think of?

I think I am about ready to give up on my 95 SE
SteeevO replied to zack1978's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
KEEPT IT!!!. i had 347K mi before i had to swap in a new engine.. suck it up it'll be worth it -
u might want to put a heat shield on the header pipe right under the driverside floorboard. my floorboards get hot and that was the the cause of the melting insulation on my ham radio power wires sparking my carpet on fire on the way home from utah (no the wire wasn't fused at the battery) ... i have the pathy dynomatted now which also provides insulation but i'm still going to put a heatshield soon... P.S. my floorboards only heat up after going 75MPH for atleast 15 minutes

yes i know exactly what you are saying. the guy before me that had it SAID he took good care of it and was ontop of oil changes. and so far he had been telling the truth about everything else i tore of the parts pathfinder. i even drove the other pathfinder with this engine before yanking it out. it did not leak at all. not one drop .. yesterdayi was parked for 5 minutes and had a oil spot the size of my hand on the ground. the shop also fessed up to putting 5 Qts of oil in after i repeatedly told them it did not take that much. so i am going to supply a factory RMS and also new thowout bearing because they supposedly chaged that too but my old one was ould as heck and sounded like it was ready to fall appart.. and thier NEW one is no better.

i know the ECU is a hitachi unit but what microcontroller is it? i'm gonna have a little fun with the extra ECU i have

so yeah my dad got inhis face on the phone... i'm taking it in on monday... they are gonna take the thinga appart and do it again... and i think i'm gonna go down and get the factory seal and make them use that. also make them pout a new throwout bearing.. cause thier "NEW" one is loud as HECK!! so yeah hopfully this works out for me next week... now i need to find a way to get to school while it's in the shop
