  1. so I bought this today: http://www.garmin.com/products/iQue3600/ due to a special for existing customers at http://www.radioworld.ca I picked this puppy (complete with the automotive mount, car lighter adapter, etc) for $300CDN... -bounce- If you're not a prior customer of radioworld then you can get it for $350. This thing is sick.. plays MP3s... is a full GPS with 32 MB of built in memory and an SD card slot (you can pick up a 1GB card for $75!) I love Garmin so much that I will name my firstborn after them.
  2. Many Nissans came with 4.375 diffs.
  3. I dunno bud. You're the one listing stuff that's not even part of the Calmini kit. I understand that SAS is very expensive as a whole, but my point is that they give you very very little and like to charge a whole lot. You still need a welder to install the 'bolt-on' kit from Calmini.
  4. Yea.. i tried to pull out the vent assembly but it started to disintegrate at the top as well. It's hard to see on pics but the damage was getting to a point where I decided to cut my losses and go the easier route.
  5. Nigel's tire carrier opened itself up as he descended into the pit (it's a super steep entrance)... the carrier has to modified not to do it again because it's a major pain. The gauge cluster doesn't get in the way, as it's actually very low (maybe 3 inches high at the most). As to wiring, unless I was gonna take the whole dashboard apart there was no way of making the cabling more hidden. The issue is that my truck is 13 years old and has been through extremely hot and cold climates as we moved around the continent quite a bit... the plastics are so brittle that if I started touching the dash to take it apart, stuff would be snapping. How do I know? I tried to take some more panels out but they were just disintegrating in my hands. The 1 cm or so of cables I can see is something I can live with. And yes, the truck was purchased in the States, hence the imperial measurements.
  6. OK testing revealed that the Inclinometer indeed works: this one was accidental.... oops! This one wasn't So some wierdos in Xterras show up and we decide to make it a run sly: -bounce-
  7. Check out Uniden 520 or Cobra 19.
  8. Unless you got a top mounted intercooler I doubt that it's going to do anything.
  9. Fawkin' LOL I got the little bastard is installed today: I spliced the wiring for backlighting into the cigarette lighter backlight. Cable was routed behind the dash panels so it's nice and hidden. This is the only portion of wiring visible. It's only about 1/2 inch so it doesn't really bother me. And in the dark.. this is what it looks like. The brightness setting for interior illumination also changes the brightness of the inclinometer backlighting. Testing will take place later tonight. sly
  10. In all honesty just sit tight and monitor this board, Nissan4wheelers.com, and nissanoffroad.net for used lift components. You will need at least different shocks for greater travel. Rear springs (from a Jeep Grand Cherokee or Ford F100), upgraded steering system or at least a custom/aftermarket centerlink and proper a-arms to keep the alignment in check. This should give you 3" of suspension lift. I would really recommend against making your own a-arms unless you have a full fledged machine shop at your disposal. That's pretty much the only component that would require custom fabrication.
  11. It was $100 shipped. Actually my GPS gives me the correct altitude if I need to know it for sure. I'll check how much this one varies due to weather changes. Appearantly it's not that much from what I read on different boards. This should be enough for reference purposes though if you had to rely on it.
  12. OH LOOK... an AUTHENTIC MAD TYTE ASIAN LOOKING box arrived today I wonder what amazing goodies it holds... ? Time to make the Pathy JDM STYLEZ MAD TYTE YO DRIFTUUU.... LOL I may get started on installing it tomorrow. -bounce- and then I am going to ricer meets to show off the JDM TYTENESS LOL
  13. The bar that runs diagonally behind your rear axle is called the Panhard Bar, and it prevents the axle from shifting side to side.
  14. Well it's the stater solenoid then.
  15. Hmm....... did you check for spark?
  16. It's all good. I'll still probably go coilovers for mine, as there is no way i'd run leafs front, coils rear on my truck.
  17. NOBODY is gonna buy it then. That's about $50 bucks out of junkyard parts for hangers, $100 of DOM tubing and few balljoints from NAPA.
  18. How so... Unless Calmini will include springs, all you get is spring hangers, steering linkages, and one maybe two custom crossmembers. That's not a whole lot for what you said wouldn't be much less expensive than Xterra kit.
  19. Well they've been "working" on it forever. I am not happy that it looks like it's leafs. If they release a coilover kit i may think about it though... I think some things are good and some things are bad about it. We'll see though. It better be massively cheaper than the $1800 they want for the Xterra/Fronty kit if it's on leafs.
  20. I think the only sensible course of action is to trace the wiring to it's source.
  21. LOL... my spastic brain couldn't figure it out at first... it's like reverse dyslexia.
