  1. my 95 was stubborn sometimes about going into 4th on a quick shift and sometimes about going into 1st...but after about 2-3 weeks of driving I figured out how she liked it and gave it to her that way...just like 2nd gear on my 87 in the winter time...have to go towards 4th and then into 2nd or she just wont go but once shes warm no problems at all
  2. if small amounts of water not water vapor get into the intake It will evaporate before it gets into the cylinders...I dont think you need to worry about SST exhaust maybe just check to see if your muffler (and maybe the cat) has a weep hole in it and that the exhaust is all down hill to there so any buildup of condensation when you stop in the cooler months will drain out of the system and not sit there to rust that low point in the system... I dont think i'd go SST just b/c of the price and the way you wheel...a nice $600+ system gets smashed up on the trail and someone isnt going to be happy...
  3. actually the 4 door is heavier...I think its almost 300 or 400 lbs I know it was enough to say I could tow the 2 door on a trailer and not the 4 door
  4. make sure you wire up that relay correctly so she doesnt get a dint in the hood...she might would not be happy about that...
  5. paypal is cool...I'll try and pull it out of its rubbermaid tonight and get it weighed up and let ya know...if you dont hear anything in a couple days just shoot me a reminder PM
  6. AZ scott I have a compressor laying around off of my 87...it was starting to "get weak" when I pulled it but when I had it charged with 134a it blew a cool 46 deg constant at truck idle...I found out that the hose on the bulkhead on the firewall had loosened up and thats where my leak was...if you want to pay shipping I can send it to ya and if you feel inclined to throw a couple extra $ on top that'd be cool for packing and what not if you want a temporary fix for the compressor
  7. Yes overfilling a transmission is bad but I don't know how much over is bad...now I don't remember what the volume for nissans is (i know they misplaced the fill plug and you have to fill it from the top side to get the correct level)...so you may be at the right level but if you overfill it increases friction/heat and I guess you could end up blowing some seals out too from reading around...I think its worse on an auto but not as severe on a MT...I know when I was working at FTL we had a lot of transmissions burn up from overfilled transmissions, most were auto but there were a few MTs in there but I am not aware of the mileage they had on them either.
  8. timing? maybe the dizzy is like 90deg out...check that...i put mine back together once 180 out...
  9. I guess it depends on how smooth you can operate it...I've seen some bad things happen with fork trucks being used to pull engines and it not being able to be lifted smoothly like 1" at a time b/c by the time you bumped the vertical lift it went like 3"s
  10. good job...so is the engine just going to hang from the swingset until then? i've seen that happen for weeks at at time in NC but they were always hanging from oak trees....don't kill yourself putting it back in... may I suggest separating the transmission anyways to replace the RMS...
  11. I'd recommend pulling the dash... it shouldn't take more than 30 mins to get it out...that way you can route all your wires/relays and chicken band/tie wrap them in good locations... to remove IIRC you remove the bottom panel on the drivers side and remove the glove box and back plate then remove the cluster and the defog vents and theres some screws up there...then I believe you can just pull it out...you'll have to pull the radio and ash tray too to pull the black trim around all of that...but its not really that big of a job and then you can ensure you don't cut any wires or anything else...
  12. and not for me...esp at that price
  13. I still dont see it working if you dont shorten the shaft...
  14. manual all the way...automatics suck i hate driving my car every single day...found a MT the other week but they watned to give me nothing for my year old car...bastards
  15. the spline count is probably different...If theres a good shop in town you could have the camaro 1 shortened...a couple of inches is a good bit of axle length to make up...
  16. haha if its in gear and you hit it and turn the key you will go in that direction...
  17. Thats y I was asking what kind of loads the bolts would see...for me the close hole pattern would worry me until I ran out the calcs to verify it wasn't going to break but thats just me...i was just stating that the holes are pretty close together and if you have a shear out into the next hire hole i has potential to be ugly
  18. Try searching...but its to start the truck without the clutch engaged
  19. i'll hit ya up if i ever get back up and running...
  20. HAHA ...whoops I confused you with someone else (http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=18580)... I retarded & just got PWND
  21. yep...sorry fingers weren't going as fast as the mind was...my 87 (CA Emissions) now has 95 (federal emissions)
  22. b/c you owned a R50 B4 a WD21... I'd be willing to put $20 its a bad battery and/or connection from battery to starter..try a jumper like simon said...
  23. blue? i thought they were all green? and counted up as you went north and down as you went south..until you cross state lines and then they reset to X distance...either way theres a margin of error...the gps' is the resolution and the mile markers are up to the DOT crew and you're timing at approach...
  24. hince my 87 with 95 (that stil needs some work) will never get smogged...b/c they'll give me @!*% for increasing the emissions standards by 8 years
