Congrats, looking good.

Yeah I had a mechanic friend of mine to help me in replacing the inner boot, but it was a pita. it took a couple of hours, and guess what? I have to replace the drivers side too
-
Inner rubber fender/wheelwell gone

Yup, mine is gone on the passenger side, and driver side is almost gone. I'm going to replace it pretty soon though. -
I don't have problem with the dimmer, what happens is that what's in green in the pic does not light up when the lights are on. Could it be the same problem, I checked the bulbs and they aren't burned out.

I don't know what to tell you Wheel. I mean youve gone to a lawyer, the police have been involved....what else can you do? I mean you can bust a few cars with a sledge hammer, maybe make some cocktails and throw them at his house, etc etc. But this counter claim he wants to take to court is totally retarded. I mean, he has your car for more than a couple of months, you pay him to do a service, he doesn't keep his promises, what else can you throw at him at court. Just don't pay him a single dime for it. -
You might as well, it doesn't hurt to do that whiel you are upgrading uca's
-
same reason why i removed mine, I can't afford a new one.
-
I was looking into buying a 4runner also, before buying my pathy. The sales price, even for a salvaged resotored was pretty expensive, then I saw the pathy and I feel in love
-
I would love to get the clear tail lights, the only change I've made to my lights are the front turning signals, from orange to clear.

What is the difference B/W Pennzoil VS. Valvoline
solid snake replied to findmypath's topic in The Garage
That's cheap, the cheapest semi-synth around here is almost 4 bucks. I usually use the high milage stuff though. -
It idles at 2,000! Mine idles at 1,000 or 900. I would check the MAF sensor (mass airflow sensor). Before I replaced mine it was idling at high rev's also, sometimes when I would make a stop the revs will drop all the way to zero then climb up to 2,000, shortly afterward if I wouldn't accelerate it would choke. I don't know if this is the case with you, but I would check that. Regarding your rediator, check the coolant resivoir to see if it isn't damaged or if the line that is coming from the radiator isn't damaged or something. I would highly recommend the electric fan swap.

Hey wheelman, I think that running a dual exhaust is cool. I don't have the cat converter on my pathy, and running a flowmaster on it. While it doesn't make it sound a lot louder, it kind of gives it a throatier sound when accelerating, when it's on idle you can even hear the exhaust. We don't have any emission test to do here in Arizona. I plan on running a dual exhaust my self and I'm thinking of how and where to run my pipes thru. I have my single exhaust running straight next to my hitch.

1) when was it's last oil change/spark plug change? Check those, you may need to change the motor oil, add a smoe treatment additive, and a oil stabilizer, prefferable Lucas. Since you did not say what year your pathy is, I'm thinking that you probably have a fuel injected pathy. Try to use a fuel treatment, try to stay away from those cheap brands though, again use the lucas fuel treatment. 2) I would go with an electric fan swap for the readiator, or take it to a radiator shop to get the radiator serviced, can be expensive though. Here's the link on how to do the swap: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=5701 3) Leaking oil should be pretty obvious, but from what the nissan owners manual reads is that it should be a lighter color...may need to be changed also, again use an additive

The type of sand we have in Arizona is the very loose, soft kind. But my Pathy manages to tackle it no problem with the auto's what's up with that damn warning level?!
-
The 4 wheelin I do is in sand.....don't have mud, or much rain for that matter, here in arizona. I have experienced what you mean Geordie when climbing a steep sand dune. I get stuck and pull it in reverse and it seems that the auto's don't lock when im going down. So i think it's just the weight of my truck pulling it self down the incline.

Wheel, don't pay him crap, man I would have been pissed if the mechanic kept my truck for more than a week. :furious: -
I'll take your advice, I'm going to order some 15x8 and 31x10.5 bfg m/t or a/t's. from my research, it looks like m/t's are better on sand, which there is a lot here.
-
I think I'll stick with the auto's and buy the manuals once I have some cash. Sounds like a better investment.
-
Thanks for the info, I haven't had problems with my auto hubs yet, but it does seem as a worth while investment.
-
What's the difference between the automatic and manual hubs, besides that you have to get out of your truck to engage them, are, manuals better than the auto's. I personally like that i don't have to get out of the pathy to engage 4wd. I was considering Mile Markers hubs, would this be a good investment, or just stick with the auto's?
-
I was thinking of installing some 15x10's on my pathy with 31's or 32's, but did not know if I would run into any problems with my rig. I want to run 15x10's 'cause I like my stuff sitcking out, if you knwo what I mean. sly

Hey wheel, MAN this freakin sucks a$$. Take his a$$ to court, don't pay him a single dime and get your pathy back. I know you're desperate to take it for a spin...especially off-roading Don't put up with his crap and try to get your truck fixed. -
Naw, they'll just take his pathy to cover the costs!!! sly
-
congrats on your new pathy!

question for 98silverpathy, how about a write up on how you did the swap? Or did you just went to http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2003/02...fan/index.shtml and followed the instructions there? This is really sweet and I want to do this swap :cool2: It's freakin hot here in Yuma Arizona and my temp is always on the half way mark in the summer with the a/c on.
