2004 = still under warranty :contract: . Take it to the dealer (with one of the trailers) and get them to fix it. My two cents (1/2 cent in Canada ).

A little more detail: No off road, about 90% over 60kph, rest in stop n' go city or stopped for highway improvements. Some very steep hills (8%) but mostly rolling terrain at 100kph. Used the cruise as much as possible, that seems to help a lot on my truck. No lift or super large tires. Based on this trip, I could get a little over 700 km per tank (435 miles)

Just did a trip of 1,385 km. Averaged 25.1 mpg (imperial gallons) for the entire trip.

Sort of along the same vein, we did a move of about 400 km (with 2 months storage in between selling and buying houses). We had a tent trailer that the movers put in the back of the moving van (actually, we used my Bronco II to back it up the ramp and in). All part of the moving bill that the wife’s employer paid for. Check with the mover to see what they recommend, maybe they can do it all at once.

Good Job! On my 02, it is part of the rad, check for hoses coming from the trannie to the rad and back. Just did a bypass on mine with a high flow plate type.

Glad to help. This is a new tire (as a result of a sidewall cut) so this is the closest it will get. Sorry, could not get my pinky in there and take the picture at the same time! I have run these tires for about 15,000 km in snow, ice and gravel without any problems, no rubbing. But this size tire will not fit under where the spare is, at least not with my hitch :sniff: , this is the only downside.

Not sure if you got your answer but I run Hankook RF04's in size LT 245/75R16 without any lift and without any problems. Can't quite squeeze my pinky between the tire and the bottom of the front spring carrier. Can post a picture if you want.

1996 Mercury Mystique, V6, AT, all options except leather, fog lights and sunroof. Had 4 wheel disk brakes with ABS, traction control, 170 hp. Got 36-40 mpg (imperial gallons) and was fast and quick. A few BMW 3 series had some nasty surprises from a lowly Mercury! Was sold in Europe and was named European Car of The Year 1994. But had the nickname of Mercury Mistake, was very tough to work on and reliability :X :furious: (still has its winter tires/rims on in this picture)

Just be ready for the same error code. My 02 Bose 6cd is giving that right now. Check with the dealer for cost on a replacement, in Canada they are offering them at a pretty good deal to try and keep customers happy. The stock Bose unit has a long history of not working very well.

I work in forestry in BC, was “downsized” and decided to start my own company. Needed a 4WD that could do double duty with the family, especially in winter. Looked at 4Runners (a 92 4cyl w/o air for $13,000 ) and then Pathys, as noted by Simon 4Runners are about $5,000 cdn more for similar equipment/mileage. Pathys have the same reliability, fuel consumption and do what I need for off-road. Was originally looking at 98-2000 but for only a bit more was able to get my 2002. Was originally looking at 5 spd, but this 02 with auto/All Mode 4WD came up, 62,000 km, for $22,000 cdn so picked it up (wife prefers the auto as well). This was about $3,000 less than other 02 Pathys but it needed new tires, windshield and has a fair amount of rock chips on the front of the hood (but it is a bush truck, so I did not care). It was a lease return available “as is” from an auto broker subject to any safety issues being dealt with, so it got a complete break job as part of the price ($900). Am very happy with the All Mode transfer case , it will be hard replacing that feature in my next truck. Any modifications are governed by business needs, so am not looking at lifts or performance increases. Long term reliability is important, can not leave clients waiting if the truck breaks down (it happened with the car before this :furious: ). If it proves to be not reliable enough (if I lose work), it will be gone in a heartbeat. Will

Mine is making same sort of noise, but only when backing up, never heard while braking. It is going in for a service on Thursday, I will ask them to look and will post results back here.

What Precise1 says . I did not buy my truck for looks but for the way it works and its reliability. My wife has a hard time telling Pathys (all years) from other SUV's and she is pretty good at id'ing vehicles.

I took a look and its price seems to be about average of the private sales. Good luck. PS Never heard of that edition, only the Chilkoot/CHilkoot Trail ones but who knows? BC dealers are known for BC special editions and with the greta ski hills nearby would not be surprised.

$14.52 CDN. I imagine you should be able to get them anywhere that forest fire fighting tools are sold. Should be easy to find in Washington State and Oregon. I got mine from Century Vallen. When working in the woods in BC, it is one of the required tools we have to carry so I have used them a lot.
