Do not forget he is reporting in imperial MPG, not US. So as he noted it is more like 24 mpg US, not 29. Our Sienna gets 36 MPG imperial and the Pathfinder gets 24 MPG imperial on a regular basis, with single tank (over long distance) of 27 MPG imperial. So I can see 29 as a single tank, with what he has said, to be plausible but probably not sustainable over multiple fills. As I use my truck for work, I have to keep a log for tax purposes and can tell the MPG for any one tank or over a long period. As an aside, it costs me $0.48 per kilometer to operate my truck, all costs in. So that is what I charge my clients for vehicle use.

pictures of my R50's mangled suspension

Not bad for the amount of damage. Now you can thumb your nose at those wimpy Jeepster rides -
No, I have no hole too

Man, the inside of your truck is CLEAN :o How do you do it? come on, share some secrets

That's what I use and I get decent reception (although it is not a CB )

Get a long wire and just take the lead that you had attached to the lighter and jump it directly to the battery (temporarily) and see if it works. You may have a bad ground or the radio itself is non-functional. This would at least eliminate these two possibilities.

This is so true. My Hankooks are rated as a 10 ply, but actually only have 5 (this is stamped on the side wall, so look for it on any tires you are shopping). And the tread ply rating does not apply to the sidewall rating, that is separate, so you need to look for that as well.

I go away for a few days and WOW, look what happens. Welcome back!

But how do you deal with distributing the weight on the roof? Any issues? (I assume you are going well over the 150 lbs stock limit, yes?)

I use this set up: Was $100 CDN from Canadian Tire (now $140). There are holes in the plywood for the legs to go into, it uses force to push up into the headliner (there seems to be a natural trench the top fits into, just luck in where I put it I guess) and in addition I tie it to the J hooks on the side. Has worked well so far but have not flipped the truck yet!

I have been looking at buying it as well and I had all (well most all ) of my questions answered by the manual. There is a link a few posts up to the manual, just download it and read away :contract:

Thanks, that is what I was wondering if it was sent by OBDII or not.

On Pathys, does the SCII read AT temps? How about transfer case (AllMode anyway) temps?

I would never have thought of that as I have never heard or experienced a cracked rotor. Good find.

Welcome! Recent tires? Same time frame as the pulsing? Possible a wheel not put on quite right? Did you get the lug nuts re-tourqed at 50 miles or so? Other than a rotor, I can not think of anything else, although mine does it as well. I find a good, hard stomp on the brakes gets rid of it (I tend to be a rather light brake user, rather than heavy all the time. My pads last forever). Good luck.

For my 02, the chip looks like it is located at the base of the plastic bit (where the metal comes out) so it is close to the reader. Look at yours to see if that is the same. All the keys I have seen with chips have some sort of access hatch, then you will know about where it is if you have one.

   As usual, she comes through in a big way.

Sounds like it needs lube on the slides, pretty common issue. Do a search, there is a lengthy post on it here somewhere, complete with pictures and the lube you need. I just used a silicone spray down each track and it cured it up really well.

Good post, well done. Nice, informative reply, must new in government

Thanks for thinking of us. Got it and see you all over there.

Glad we are back and well done whoever did it but what about 88's site? Will this be migrated over or is his in limbo until this one dies again?
-
Based on my own experiences working in the woods, I already knew that. It is getting a narrow tire at a reasonable price with a reasonable load rating with a suitable tread pattern that is the problem for my Pathy (all the narrow ones I looked at this fall had a very high load range, hence a high price. More designed for carrying very heavy loads as you may find with a 1 ton P/U).

Ouch!
