  1. Well in all fairness he has 235000 or so on his engine also :-) Does a lot of driving for work, although he did have the tranny rebuilt about about 200k if memory serves. Far As I know the pathy's still on its original engine/tranny
  2. THe thing that irks me is my dads 97 2 door Tahoe gets about 17-22 depending on where hes driving. He has some light mods like a jacobs ignition, k&n filter and a larger exhaust. The engine is a Vortech 5.7 350 Meanwhile My poor sixbanger is giving me a consistent 13.7. Motor swap time!
  3. I might try the O2 sensor mode tonight, as I have theories thats gone bad (poor milege) also will try replacing my fuel filter and what not for the rough running. What exactly does a code 44 mean?
  4. Thanks JJ! I just wanted to check up, with a $50 core I can get a new caliper for my VW for about 54 +shipping, compared to the local partshouse price of $140 with no core. Don't even want to know what the local $tealer$hip wants for one. Hows their customer service/shipping times? The parts # listing is nice, plus I really like the java applet they have for searching parts. :cool2:
  5. Anyone have any experience with www.rockauto.com? They seem to have a very complete list of parts at better prices than I've been able to find. Wanted to know if anyone had used them before.
  6. I hope to someday think that way :-)
  7. Did you ever re-install the steering stablizer? Any need for it after the L&P install?
  8. I tried searching for this, but to no avail. I finally got around to checking my mode 3 codes, and all I was throwing is 44, ECCS Normal Operation. Does that mean don't worry be happy now? Or is it something else?
  9. How much would you want for the JGC coils? -A few minutes later- -alcohol- Didn't see the e-mail addy till just now- e-mail sent!
  10. Some of us would consider not having 4 wheel drive a larger concern I second the SAS though, if anyone on here needs to do that, its 88 :-)
  11. My 87 has been averaging about 13.7, and that was mostly distance driving to 4x4 areas. I haven't ran the codes yet but I'm pretty sure I need a new O2 sensor and a few other little goodies. But with 270,000 on the clock, I'm not sure if I can complain :-) With my VW being down I've been driving the Pathy around town, and now with little more than 1/4 tank left I have about 185 miles on the tank. Not looking to pretty!
  12. So I installed the antannea on my spare tire carrier, basically right in the lower plate thats behind the spare tire. I figured I'd zip tie the co-ax cable to it once I get some. Am going to mount the actuall cb at an angle underneath the stereo as soon as I can get a mounting bracket for it. Any thing I should be aware of? Also, I noticed that the mic mount installed by the previous owner is grounded, even though the mic is plastic, is there a reason for this?
  13. Ok, an Update! I'm going to be picking up a new caliper as soon as money allows (figures, I need money to fix the car the same week the car payment is due). Is there anything I need to know before replacing it? I've never worked on brakes before. Is it as simple as taking the old one off, and replacing it? Will I have to bleed the brakes? How is that done? :help:
  14. Very Epic Scenery indeed! Mayhap I should get the hell out of the desert that is Southern ID and join you WA/OR people :-)
  15. My truck needs washed too! :-) Wish I was able to get out in the mountains as often as you guys do!
  16. Thanks for the update there Slick :-) What rims/tires are you running on the Pathy now? Do love seeing a work in progress, definately helps if your a chevy fan too PS. Don't you love those side mount gas tanks?
  17. That might be viable actually, theres already a slit in the carpet in that area from where the previous owner ran cabling and antannea leads. Mounting isn't so much an issue really, I'm more worried about properly mounting this antannea, I mean, where can I really put a 102" whip antannea, without it being a nusisance? I'm not even sure of where to put it so I could bend it down to go through drive throughs or park in my garage. Would a 4" Firestik be a worthwhile investment? What are the thoughts on amplified mics?
  18. *note -- Marijuana affects the memory
  19. I'm almost 23 and I still get carded for buying music & video games.
  20. He he, darn the night shifts, I won't be able to celebrate till lunch time tonight! Of course ironically enough its also Hitlers B-day, always have had mixed feelings about this unsung holiday.
  21. Must be a typo, a 87 4-door for 50K?
  22. Could be used for everytime I've ever wanted to see my pathy fly :-) Could put a few on the GTI too, Who needs brakes when you've got some pulse jets?
  23. Sounds like an awsome weekend all in all :-) I love the pic with the tow truck up on its rear wheels! Wonder how drunk the dude was when he thought he could plow through that lake in what looks to be a stock dodge. Props also to wheeling in the same area as a army truck, and that WWII era Jeep in your website photos! Maybe I just need to get out more :-)
  24. Should be pretty sick when you can git'er done. I'm a fan of the older chevys myself. Just hate the red interiors on them
