How hard is the o2 sensor to change? I let it idle last night while i packed it full o' my junk (I heart moving!) Noticed that it also wanted to Die when idleing, stutter run, stutter run, etc. Also noticed that the exhaust smelled like it was rich in fuel. Could this be the 02 sensor screwing up and making my engine run rich? I'm going to try and see if I'm throwing any codes tonight (haven't done that yet anyways :-) ) See if anything weird pops up.

My 4x4 indicator light isn't working, I'm confidant that the 4 wheel IS working however, just due to my "testing" in the desert. Is there a bulb to change? Is this the voltage regulator issue?

He he, sometimes I forget Pathy's come with four doors j/p

Mwa Ha ha, our armies are growing...... *laughs manically and disapears in a cloud of smoke*

I had the Hella air horns on my last truck (the diesel gmc) They were super loud but high pitched, not that deep sound we want at all.
-
Eh, figured it worked for awhile with the previous owner :-) And hey, in 30 minutes *poof* no light through the sun roof, less its popped up of course :-)
-
Eh, No Need, I sanded it down and gave it a couple coats of primer/spray paint over the weekend. No need to dump more money into this truck when I have paint sitting around
-
Well I like the look with it on better than it off. Don't have a cover though, didn't get one with the truck. But I figure having it back there is better than having it on the hood, all safari style :-) I've thought about trying to find a way to mount a snowboard holder to the rack also, and put the spare up in a roof rack with a hi lift, shovel and other useful toys. (eventually!) I don't think my snowboard will fit up top with the light bar there....

Do these sunroofs come with a cover of somesort? I see the hardware on the glass to install some sort of snap in cover, but I didn't recieve this with the truck, the previous owner opted instead to spraypaint it., which is now chipping and falling in tiny pieces all over my seats :-) Plus its really annoying to flip on everything on your light bar, only to be blinded by your own lights.
-
Good Idea ;-) Although I can already imagine the comments about a single round object in the rear of my truck.... Perhaps I should hang a color-coded bag with two tennis balls in it from my hitch at the same time *kidding*

Where can I find POR-15?

I'm looking at doing a little bit more with my tire rack. I was hoping to relocate my license plate to the rack, and add a Jerry can. Maybe a CB anantanea mount as well. Are their kits for doing these type of things? Or do I need to learn how to weld? Anyone else have anything unique they've done to theirs?

How would I start repairing the spots of rust on my rig? Theres a spot under my rear seats that I need to take care of, and a few other spots over the length of the truck.

Did the JGC coil spring lift today...
Harbinger replied to TrailChaser's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Did you crank the t-bars also? Looking to do the same thing myself soon.... -
I will have to look into this further, last tank I only got about 13.5mpg, I know not to expect the world from these little sixers, but should it really be that low?
-
I'm not sure when she was last tuned, (only had her for three-ish weeks) But yeah My gas milege doesn't seem to be the greatest, I was blaming it on mudding/4 wheeling. What am I getting into if its the o2 sensor?
-
Ok, The more I drive my 2nd Baby around the more lil quirks i notice. The latest one is as I approach 45mph, the engine stutters like its about to die, push the speed past 45 and shes back to normal. Any ideas?

Ok, After another weekend went by I came up with some more newbie-ish questions. It seems to me that my steering is kind of sloppy, and I can almost literally "feel" the road/trail through the steering wheel. Is this also typical to our swiss army knife trucks? My engine seems to run rather on the cool side of my temp gauge. The guy I bought it from said something about a problem on these trucks where the Thermostat gets stuck open? I'm certain my Pathy is suffering from the Exhaust Manifold issue, want to save up for headers, but could this be causing anything in the mean time?

Help with home grown lift - JGC springs...
Harbinger replied to Harbinger's topic in 86.5-89 WD21 Pathfinders
I'll get this yet! How do I tell if my BJs & Tie Rods are in good shape or not? -

So find some JGC springs, new shocks all the way round (with longer in the back), crank the T-bars, get it aligned, and I'm set? Just make sure the BJ's & tie rods are in good shape? -

Alright, Well what is usually done with the front suspension when lifting the back as such? -
Its me again :-) Was persuing the board and found the page about using JGC springs w/longer shocks to lift the rear of your pathy. My Question is, does adjusting the torsion bars up front provide enough lift to match the 3-ish inches you get from the JGC springs? If so is the $40 ball joint spacer enough to keep my suspension from prematurely biting the bullet? How hard is it to install this spacer? Would this type of lift make my 31x10.50's look small? or is it not enough to worry about a tire upgrade? Ahhh, 4 wheeling on a budget

Thanks for the tip! *off to grab two butter knives and some duct tape*

Well that makes sense, Well at least she starts every time, my worries extend more to the tranny, How hard do these auto's usually shift? Sometimes the first shift seems more like hitting a wall. (Mass RPMS followed by that good ole clunky shift) Depends on how pedal happy I am as well. I dunno, maybe I'm to used to my GTI How would one check for evidence of a tranny oil cooler?
-
Ok, I might scrap the auto ---> manual swap (will forever be searching for the clutch at start up though :-) ) But I am still guessing I'll need to change both the engine and tranny before to long. I bought this truck for $450 with 262,000 Miles on original engine and tranny, the guy was a business owner and therefore just had a local shop "fix anything that needed fixed", not entirely sure what that means, but hey, it does still run :-) Basically, How much can I expect to pay for a new engine/tranny, or even a rebuild? I'm not near a mechanic but I do know some wrenchers I might be able to bring in to help me.....*hits the drawing board*
