  1. Just because you make Vrooom noises while you drive, doesn't make it a Ferrari! hahaha
  2. Buy SFD from krypton for sure! Hands down the best and WAAAAAY easier then doing it yourself. His Steering extension is a work of art, so buy two. One for the coffee table and one to install ;-)
  3. Take the rear off for sure! The front will do pretty much nothing. Stupid IFS doesn't allow for much movement up front. Keep in mind, you're not driving a race car. (Although some people on here will disagree)
  4. Truck looks awesome brother! I couldn't see the rust past the Swampers X-D
  5. I installed the pro comps on dududuckling's 2000 R50 with no modification. My '98, only needed a sleeve to take up the space between the shock mount and the bushing on the shock. Amen Brother!!!! hahahahahhaa
  6. I use ProComp ES9000 - 929500 from summit. I think they're like 30 bucks or something and work really well.
  7. I got this bad boy http://www.vortexdirect.com/vo10lbwiwatr.html It came with the wired remote, WIRELESS remote, fairlead and hook. Also, the solenoid/Motor/Gear box are all sealed. I've used it a few times to pull me through some big snowbanks and up some steep hills. No problems at all. And this thing was CHEAP AS HELL!!!
  8. GoPathy! Hows things going with the truck? I haven't gotten far (stupid Bathroom Reno) Anyone have ideas on Brand/Length/travel of coilover I should look for/Price-out?
  9. Ok I got my Waggy axle removed from its donor "Nissan" haha I'm going to move on to the three link set-up. Before I do, any tips to "refreshing" the axle I have? Bearings, seals, etc? If you have part numbers that would be awesome. But just a general part list would work :-)
  10. anyway you could post some pics of the steering box and link set-up? I stole the ones off of your actual build page. But I couldn't see how you mounted the box/pitman arm, etc. I'm not going full hydro for a couple reasons. I don't have the money, and I don't want the lag in the steering. It would be pretty funny to get hit with a cross wind and end up in oncoming traffic, run over a few "Canadians" before returning to my lane... Not worth it right now for me.
  11. Steevo from Rugged Rocks is working on a "Reasonably priced" locker for the 33 splined rear end. But I believe he's only doing it for the one with the LSD carrier. My '98 LE had 4.3 LSD.
  12. FINALLY! hahaha Ok, so I'm probably going to ask the most basic questions just so I can bring this project down from the clouds, into reality. So I have my 1988 Jeep Wogoneer (waggy) axle. What do I do about steering? I know the "Rack and Peanut" steering won't work. what did you do for it? Also, did you have to do anything with the R50 driveshaft or crossmember? Lengthen it to allow for the added movement of your front end? and this AWD problem you're having shouldn't effect my '98 LE should it? Jeez I have so many questions its not funny. I feel like I'm going to go with a 3 link up front. So if anyone knows what coilover's I should be looking at, don't be afraid to post up part numbers, etc. :-)
  13. Nice thanks guys! Looks like I'm going through 4x4parts. I wonder if I can't bastardize another vehicles parts to do this. Kinda like I've been doing with everything else on my truck :-)
  14. XPLORx4, where did you source the new bushings? You wouldn't still have part numbers would you?
  15. usually you have to replace the whole LCA.
  16. ?? I don't know how to answer that... The bushings on the lower control arms that are on the bolts mounted to the subframe. These: https://www.4x4parts.com/nissan/pathfinder-front-lower-control-arm-front-bushings-p-712.html just wondering if theres another source for them, or if AC is the only place.
  17. I don't know why I even post, I should just email you with questions directly... Oh thats right, its for the good of the "Herd" X-D Thats the rear trailing arms! I need the front control arm :-)
  18. I've got presses and whatnot. I just wanna know that I'm not buying bushings that will end up being more work then they're worth.
  19. Hey all, I've been searching the forum for a "How To" as far as finding/replacing the Lower control arm Bushings. I know AC has them, but theres gotta be somewhere else to buy the suckers. And when I get them, do I burn out the old ones (whats left of them) or is there another trick? Thanks, I'll make sure I do a write up on this thread if there isn't one yet. ~ Rod
  20. It definitely sounds like your steering rack bushings though. Have a look under the front of your truck at the steering rack... you'll see if theres big gaps in the bushings. Or even have someone get in a turn the steering wheel while you look. If the steering rack moves a bunch that's your issue. Cheap and easy ;-)
  21. Do inner and outer tie rods... I had that problem and it fixed it right up. A similar sound reappeared when my Steering rack bushings went. All of them are cheap and easy to fix
  22. Yeah sell it to your buddy in Grimsby!!! (ME!!!) X-D
  23. I changed the steering rack bushings as well, but it didn't help.
  24. Just do inner and outer all at the same time. What I did, was take the wheel off, turn the steering wheel all the way to the Pass. or Driver side, which-ever you're working on. Take the Tie Rod end off of the knuckle, then remove the steering dust boot from the steering rack, Use a large set of channel locks or adjustable wrench (or the correct size wrench if you have it) take the inner tie rod off with the outer attached, use a piece of masking take on a flat surface to make sure your new stuff goes back together the same way as the old stuff came off, and re-install. Simple!
  25. Just the "Made in Taiwan", Moog Knock-offs hahaha I couldn't find any "beefier" parts, and I'm going away this weekend. So I just put the regular dealies on... if they let go again, I'll take the 45 mins out of my day and replace them with better ones. At least now I know what the problem was.
