  1. Those ones won't work on the WDs, only R50s and newer. Those are actual intake kits, not cone adapters.
  2. Try pulling the key out and flipping it over.....try turning the key then slidding it out a mm or so, then try turning again and so on. With my 88 you have to put the key all the way in then pull it back out slightly to make it work in the tail gate lock.
  3. The washer tank is the same for front and back, there is just a second pump and a long tube for the rear. It will take about 15-20seconds to pump back there if it hasn't been used in a while and has dried up everything in the tube. As for Pathfinder & Hardbody stuff, pretty much all the same from the front doors forward. Only main change is Hardbody T-bars are 1" shorter. FYI on the fenders; 2wd Hardbodys had different front fenders that didn't bulge as much.
  4. Actually technically illegal in CA, since you can't alter the engine or it's systems. Pretty much all that means is if you a) go to a strict smog shop; put it back to stock for the test, or if they don't care and it passes you're fine. VA it might be illegal also, a guy from NOAS is an inspector and he fails vehicles for all kinds of little alterations. I have a cone on my 93 and love it, as with others, I don't plan to go swimming with it any deeper than the frame.
  5. Busted off, as in came apart? Pictures would help, or a detailed description of what part seperated from what.
  6. Yeah, most that do it move the lower links up to the top and build a new frame mount further forward, then make new longer bottoms mounted further forward under the frame. Most of the ones I have seen were done by guys on N4W.
  7. The Haynes manuals also have that reference. I just thought maybe they sold a Cargo Van type body on the D-21 chassis or something in Japan.
  8. I've seen 1 person do it with just the 3"BL, but yeah, they hacked the sheetmetal to hell and back to do it. They went to 35s after a little SL too IIRC.
  9. I'd pull the door, 2 pins and it's free. If you have a helper and a couple jack stands then you can pull the door and not worry about undoing the wiring.
  10. I always buy the Trico winter blades, usually last about 1 year on a pair. I almost bought Bosch Icons last time, but had never heard if they were good, or just a gimick. I won't buy standard blade frames, they ice up here and are worthless.
  11. The only ones I had on either of mine were from some rust spots on my 88 along the top of the windsheild. Used to drip right on the steering wheel. With your's where it is I would double check your gromit for the wires that go to the door and see if it has any gaps.
  12. Stupid question first, you do have a belt running to the pump pully right? If it isn't the thermostat, then maybe you used the wrong head gaskets or somehow otherwise blocked a water passage in the heads when you had them off?
  13. Actually if the engine won't warm up enough, the T-stat is stuck open not closed. Our stock temp guage isn't the most precise instrument, so you are probably just fine.
  14. I fiberglassed my rocker, lasted 2 years then cracked out and rusted larger. Second time around I cut and formed new sheet metal and welded it in place then smoothed the area with normal body filler.
  15. Both are reliable trannys. Only issue on autos is they don't like to much heat, and the stock cooler in the radiator is known to clog. But, an aftermarket cooler fixes that cheap and easy. Like anything they will only work as well as they were maintained.
  16. You should be fine, when I removed the used one I installed from a truck at the J-yard I had limited tools, you could probably do the whole job with nothing more than a good flat blade screw driver and a hammer.
  17. The government is more apt to check you for dyed diesel than if you are running an OE diesel.
  18. Wow Ghost, did you strap that aluminum foil hat on to tight again?
  19. For offroad, if you have hills or rocks to climb, go auto (unless you like burnt clutches and trying to steer, apply/let off the brake, clutch and gas all at the same time).
  20. Like a thief would care anyway.
  21. Need to get Tex on the hunt in NZ.....
  22. I hate white, slowly killing it (very slowly) on my 88.
  23. You mean BACK to in my case, and no never-a-ef-again!
