Well, more R50 fun this break! I took a family trip to the phoenix area, and of course had to hit up a few of the locals..... It was great having @hawairish and @R50JR show me some Arizona trails Views from the top Patrick was very kind to let me take his beast up some of the obstacles. His special "All mode" locker switch is awesome, and this thing absolutely walks anything you point it at. R50JR had no trouble keeping up (minus a few high clearance obstacles ) with his Lokka / super LSD combo either. We got some video as well, so we'll see how that turns out!

It's probably a fine idea, but I can see it getting very expensive very quick for very little advantage over a traditional spring and shock setup in general. Setup right with custom links and all the rest a rear end with coilovers would of course perform awesome, but I'd much sooner put that effort and expense into the front end or other mods; rear reliability and performance can be made really good with simpler mods. @PathyDude17's setup and @TowndawgR50's shocks and links in particular spring to mind. I'd much sooner emulate one of those setups before making coilovers fit.

Quick update. The Wilco dual rotopax bracket, license plate relocation bracket, and rotopax pack mounts, fuel cans, and a water can came in a couple of weeks ago. Finally had time and good weather today to mount them up to the Wilco Hitchgate: The next project will be to figure out a way to wire in some LED bolt lights I got to use as license plate lights. Anyone know a good way to get some wires inside the cargo area from underneath? May have to drill but we’ll see... Also got a chance to head up to Mount Hood for a little snowshoeing last weekend. First chance to try everything out in the snow. There wasn’t a ton of snow until the last 1/4 mile or so on dirt roads but these tires seemed to hook up very well and there was almost no slipping. So far very pleased with the build and looking forward to more winter outings in the next couple of months!

Trail Lunch!

Pathy got me into some powder this week trying for a last minute solo elk hunt. Sea of orange meant I had to look for super remote forest roads to get lost and then hike in. No luck this time but had fun anyway. I’m still amazed how these trucks can just fire right up with no complaints after being parked for days at 11,000 feet in 5 degree weather. But she does need a good bath now.
