  4. So after a quick test drive last night over various roads and a really rutty and bumpy road the springs feel a lot better than the OME's in terms of ride quality. Yes they are stiffer but not spine compressing and they handle the ruts really well. I felt that my OME's even though they were old and had lots of miles they felt like they "floated" over ruts and bumps. The new springs feel like they keep the axle on the ground at all times. Also I noticed that my body roll was a lot less too. Next step is to go up in the hills and test the flex capability of the springs and to see if I need to reinstall my bumpstops.   6. Alright installed the LR 9449's on the rig. Tires: 265/70r17 Suspension (before): OME MD coils with 1 inch spacer *also I have trimmed my fender flares about half an inch so take that into account Before measurements rear: both sides at 36.5 inches After measurements rear: both sides 38.25 inches 1.75 inch difference with fresh install I'll post before and after pics of the truck tomorrow but here's a comparison of the LR 9449 coils and OME MD coils with just the coil, 1 inch spacer and 2 inch spacer.   7. Something that @Astrorami noticed is that the newer carrier is also aluminum, instead of steel on the older ones. It's also slightly different than the Terrano version, which was a little shorter and didn't center the tire on the liftgate.

  10. If it's only intercepting one sensor's signal, how would it get feedback for whatever it was "tuning?" +1 for it being a plastic box with a resistor inside, if that.

  12. I’d be pretty skeptical about putting something like that on when there’s no shop you can go back to if it causes you issues. You have no idea who performed the tune or what they tuned it to

  15. Alright so the LR 9449's were a success. Tires are 265/70r17 Before measurements were 36.5 inches from ground to fender with OME MD coils and 1 inch spacer (I did trim my fender flares about half an inch so I'll take that into account) After measurements are 38.25 inches from ground to fender with LR 9449's so a difference of 1.75 inches. Also too these are freshly installed with no break in as well as I don't have my spare tire on underneath the vehicle. So approximately for people with stock flares it would be 36 before and 37.75 after. I'll post what the rig looks like tomorrow when I have day light. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

  16. AFAIK the strawberry milkshake of death problem was only an issue with the original radiators, so a decent aftermarket rad would probably be alright. Having seen what happens when the stock cooler fails, I'd want to get that junk out of there.

  17. Yeah that's the plan, if I add the 1 inch spacers then I would definitely need to drop my PH bar down with a bracket.   19. Got my new coils today straight from England, these things got here fast! They shipped yesterday and got here this morning. These are the LR 9449 coils, I'll post before and after measurements although I'm not sure if I'll be able to install these today but probably tomorrow Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

  22. Same with the SuperPro bushings I bought from them. Just came in plastic bags. Agreed, I've been pleased with their durability, even after the years of use. My take offs are still in the garage for a rainy day, I guess. AFAIK, the $167 price for any OME springs is pretty normal. The other thing is that OME marketed them for 15mm (0.59") of lift, but many have noted more...closer to 1.5"-2", and it totally depends on what all you're loaded up with. Straight from OME catalogs:

  23. Did the timing belt, water pump, tensioner pulley, thermostat and one camshaft seal. Everything went off without a hitch and I can't thank NPORA enough. Especially "5523pathfinder" and everyone else here and the www. My son and I got after it around 2:00 pm yesterday and finished around 11:00 pm, with one parts run and a snack break. Oh and about 3 or 4 beers. The stock timing belt with 148,000 mi. was still in good shape, a little soft but no cracks or serious wear signs. But when you get that far and getting good sleep at night is important, we jumped in. Stock water pump felt decent but the tensiner bearing felt lose and rough as compared to the new one. Everything came out and off really easy and lining up the timing marks seemed easier than I expected. Wasn't totally sure about the TDC timing part but checked the rotor position, the alignment marks and then rotated crank, checked again and again, then just went for it. The tensioner and spring still confuses me. If you adjust tension then tighten down the nut, what is the spring for? The camshaft and sprockets were initially worrisome because the camshafts moved when I took the sprockets off to get to the seal but just put them back and used the screwdriver trick to hold in place and worked perfect. Did just the leaking RH camshaft seal, the other one and the crankshaft seal were fine. The AC line was in the way and was probably the only pain. How to make a couple of attempts putting the belt tensioner brackets back on in correct order at the end of the job must have been tired. Got in the truck and turned the key and it started and purred like a kitten. Overall a very easy job.
