Guest newtwo Posted November 29, 2005 Share Posted November 29, 2005 New here ,been looking for answer for problem I have hope you guys/gals can help .Have 89 4wd v6 automatic .vehical in safe mode no check engine light that comes on ,no light comes on at the at/switch and no power for overdrive switch . Guest newtwo Posted November 30, 2005 Share Posted November 30, 2005 I say its in safe mode because it wont shift into overdrive and feels like your taking off in high gear real sluggish taking off,and that is also my issue I cant get find any fuse blowin .Have disconnect bat.,put new at/power switch in. I just dont know anymore. Just fixed this same problem tonight on my '91 PFinder. I figured it had to be a relay, but none seemed to have a problem. No tach, no shift indicator lights, no voltmeter, no gas gauge, no temp gauge. Felt like I was starting off in 3rd gear (I was!). In frustration, I checked the fusebox.
