Power control module?

I was browsing around 4x4parts.com and found this power control module http://www.4x4parts.com/public_html/shop/i...186541b4e0e1f94 My question is, has anyone tried one or know if they work well and are worth the $190? I would guess it decreases gas milage, but it says it has an on/off override switch. If anyone could give me a heads up on these, it would be appreciated.

I don't know about that specific module but I think the consesous on the board is to send your ecu to Wolf Engineering for reprogramming if you're thinking out electronic enhancements for engine performance. Do search there have been a few threads mentioning this modification.

The only reason I might not do the ecu upgrade is that I would have to sacrifice my already questionable milage for a power gain. That's why I liked the idea of the module I can turn on and off. Plus it's about half the price. But you do get what you pay for most of the time, so I'll have to weigh my options.

Usually such piggy back computers are worthwhile only when performing major mods with the computer not being capable of of figuring out what to do. Also blindly using this box without proper (dyno) tuning and more gauges (EGR/AFR) to tell you what your engine is doing is not a good idea.

All this is is a basic box that intercepts and modifies reading from the oxygen sensor to trick the computer into either supplying more fuel or less.

Also Precise... what in the god's name are you trying to say? :hide:
