I deleted my pre-cat with a custom bent pipe and half gutted my big cat. I've unbolted my muffler before and it's pretty loud. I actually bolted the muffler back on because the noise was bugging me on the long drive to work.

My tachometer does the same thing that your speedo does (slowly rising the longer I drive) and a nissan tech guy in AZ told me it was a bad ground to the ecu, he said he sees them a lot. He said I could fix it myself, but I just never got around to it. But everything else in my dash works (except my dimmer control, still can't figure that one out.) so I don't know if your problem would be related to that or not.

Well, I'm finally in the "break-in" stage. I just rolled over 100,000 in my baby and she's running like a champ. Really need to change that timing belt and water pump though so it'll stay that way.

I have a pretty huge tranny cooler on mine mounted to the back of the radiator (which has cardboard in front of it right now) and it's been down in the negatives a few times here and I didn't see a problem, seemed to drive/shift just fine.

got the email, love the forums, hope they stay artound a long time.

I go down a big hill every day coming home from work and always throw the pathy into 2nd with the AT. It keeps me right around the speed limit (25-30) and I don't have to ride my brakes. That's about the only time mine's not in drive.

just watch out for kma. I ordered one on the 17th of june and still haven't seen it. they said it would take 6-8 weeks and its been 3 1/2 months. when i asked, they said "We've got a couple of orders ahead of you yet. Should be coming up shortly" wtf? sorry, not trying to thread jack you. is there that much of a difference between the 97 and 00 bumpers? i'm not real sure, but if they have different part numbers, I would imagine there is some difference. otherwise they should just be called "96-03" bumper and caps or whatever you know?

I think I'm at like 83k now or something (I'm driving the 240 everyday while it's still nice out). My pathy's just a baby compared to most of your guys rigs! haha She'll be getting about 3-4k more real soon cause I'm driving her to AZ again. It's a long haul but it's nice to have my own vehicle when I'm home. Plus there's lots of wheeling to do there not so much up here in ND.

My pathy has always revved high when starting in the cold, don't know the rpms because my tach's been out for quite a while. It always seemed pretty normal to me. Although cold here is like 0 degrees down to negative insane!

They said they were going to work on getting a VG30E setup, but I haven't heard anything. All I see on there is the VG30I.

Maybe my hood is squeaking. I always thought it was in the dash, now I'm curious...
-
I noticed that my hood shimmy's a bit at highway speeds, no noise though. I just figured it was the ghetto rigged spring I put in it so the hood would pop up when I pull the release inside.

I drive an XE wih some pretty nice options like power windows/locks, alarm, chrome wheels, etc. But it seems like the se has even nicer stuff like the adjustable suspension, fog lights, etc. So I voted SE.

mine doesn't get mistaken too much. but it has been called a rodeo and a passport. i must admit the older rodeos do look a little like wd21's from a distance or certain angles. but for the most part people either know it's a pathy or ask what is that?

My dad and I wired up a hitch from reese and just wired it into the tail lights with brake and bliker and all that and it seemed to work fine on the multi-meter, haven't actually plugged it into a trailer though.

24, had the path for 2 1/2 years now, close to 90,000 miles on it. It's a 95, and only had 56,000 on it when I bought it in jan 03!

anyone put in a tuffy lockbox?

Ya, that box is really nice. Good idea incorporating the speakers too! -
Well, I ordered the multi-carrier rear bumper from KMA today. Thanks for the links FLApathy! I didn't get the tire carrier, just the bumper with the hitch. I'll post some pics in 6-8 weeks when it gets here.
-
Wow. :o Those bumpers are pretty insane. You can customize the hell out of them too! Hmmm... choices...

I think I might pick up one of the ones I found on ebay, they seem pretty nice and I could live without the headlight guards or maybe get some made later. It would be more cosmetic for me anyway since I don't get to 'wheel alot up here. Stupid north dakota. There isn't much public land, it's all private farm land, not to mention it's super flat, no mountains. All you can really do is the occaisional mudding when it rains.

No welder for me yet. That sucks that those are stock nissan guards, that means if I could even find one it's probably mad expensive. Thanks for the replies and stuff though guys! I found one similar on ebay with no headlight guards for $160 plus $20 shipping, not too bad right? Comes in black and chrome. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BLACK-GRILL...sspagenameZWDVW

I've had a kind of dull squealing noise coming from my front end for a while, mostly just ignore it. But I listened up close and it seems like it could be coming from the a/c compressor. The a/c seems to work fine, could it be going out? The sound is always there, i.e. as long as the engine is on, I hear it whether rolling or not or with the a/c on or not. Like I said, it's more of a small annoyance so spending big money to fix it isn't real high on my list, but if it was something simple you guys may know about, I'd be inclined to try and fix it.

I was wondering what brand / where to find the brush/grille guard bumpers that are on rigs like K9sar and TheInstaller's. I really like the way they look, simple and functional. A point in the right direction would be appreciated!

A friend of mine that used to work at a nissan stealership told me that they are required by law to fix any problems with your seatbelts, i.e. not retracting properly, for free (?) wether you have a warranty or not. Is this not true?

ditto on the beefy construction of these things. the beefy steel truck frame, steel bumpers (i would've broken plastic ones several times by now), 6 lug hubs... these things are practically indestructible! i also like the factory fender flares. i think my only real complaint is the under powered engine, but it's not that bad.
