okanagan
Just purchased some Nissan locking hubs. Now I'm trying to find installation instructions, but cannot find anything. Any suggestions?
cntryboy_88
Did you get manual locking hubs? What do you mean by Nissan locking hubs Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
hawairish
Which brand did you get? The actual instructions vary a little bit by brand, but the concept is exactly the same. A simple search (here or Google) should have returned several results, including a video. Have you seen this? Basic concept is you need to pull off the OE hub, figure out if you'll need to remove/replace the studs that hold it in place (depends on brand), install the splined collar and ring-clip on the CV shaft end, then put the new hub on using the hardware that comes with it. NovaPath
if you bought warn, you don't even need to lift the truck or take off the wheel. Super easy 15 minutes install...
kdj
Nissan has manual-lock free-running hubs and auto-lock free-running hubs for the R50. Warns are a 15 min. job like Nova stated( I have these). The Nissan manual-locks have a crap load of parts to do the same thing as the Warns. The auto-locks(I replaced these) are as simple as the Warn hubs. So ya, which did you buy? okanagan
Mine are the Nissan manual lock hubs. I plan to clean them up and regrease them first. Thank you for the tips.
hawairish
They came from an R50, or just another suitable Nissan? Mind snapping a pic?
okanagan
Came off a V6 pickup. Spline count is the same. I'll try to get some pictures. Will probably be a week or two before I install them.
okanagan
Got the hubs installed. Getting the old studs out was a nightmare! Had to double nut so tightly that some threads were damaged and I had to use a stud puller. I took some pictures, but there doesn't seem to be any icon for uploading them. Remus92
To upload photos you can put them on a hosting site such as photobucket and then copy and paste the img link into your post
Slartibartfast
IMG used to work, now you use the photo icon above the posting box (sort of below the smiley) and post a direct link there.
