Is this normal?

I was changing my spark plugs the other day and I found this rubber line coming off of the back of my engine (near the #6 spark plug) that isnt connected to anything. I'm wondering if this is normal? Or should it be connected to something? Maybe a vaccuum line? Many thanks to anyone who can help.

It might be a breather tube also. If you take a photo we might be able to be more helpful

There's a vac line back there that goes from the intake to the fuel pressure regulator. IIRC the drain for the air conditioner's back there too. A picture of what you're looking at would definitely narrow it down!

That sounds like the FPR vacuum line. You should reconnect it if you haven't already. there is a barb fitting for it on the back of the intake.

It might be helpful if you can post a picture or several pictures from different angles so we can get a better understanding of what you are seeing

if it's a small diameter line about 1/4" or slightly larger it is for the fuel pressure regulator as was said.

I just noticed something else too, you have this in the 86.5-89 (TBI) section, but your profile says you have a 93 (MPFI) ? Are we talking about that 93 or another truck in the TBI years, because this does matter when it comes to intake/vacuum related items? If it is the 93, then we can move this to the appropriate section for you.

Yeah my truck is a 93 with the vg30e mpfi. My mistake. First post lol.

Yep, looks like the fuel pressure regulator vac line. You'll probably have to feel around until you find the nipple on the regulator.

+1 on that.... taken mine off 4 times in two years. I decided that grease on the nipple was a good thing for all of the vac hoses.

I finally found the nipple/barb and re connected it. Thanks again for your help everyone!
