Hey guys! Let me just start off by saying that this is my first legitimate post on this site. I have, however, mooched off of you guys for at least a year now, so I figured it was time to post. I used to own an 88 Pathfinder that I bought for about a grand and it ran like a champ. When she finally gave up on me, I knew my only option was to buy another one. I acquired a 91 5 speed with 170k on the odometer from Denver shortly after and we've been in love ever since.

Anyway, now she has about 215k on her. She's runnin well, as I have always done all the maintenance on time. My friend had a 95 auto tranny with a bit less mileage that he just wrecked, and I bought it from him for $400. The damage was mainly to the front suspension parts, including one of the hubs. Engine and drivetrain are strong, and most cosmetic parts are in good shape.

My question is, what would you take if you were in my shoes? I know not all cosmetic parts will carry over to mine, plus its an automatic. I have already taken the door handles and the tailgate lift supports, but I am only getting started. Thanks!

I have a 6x5 storage that I could use about half of for parts storage. I also have a little bit more space at another location for smaller stuff (nothing too big/messy). Basically, engine and tranny sized parts must be left behind. As for what must be left... as long as it is able to roll, all is good.

Electrical units (ECM, ignition parts, etc) might come in handy later, especially if you find yourself trying to track down an intermittent issue. Couldn't hurt to pull a few interior bits (looks like arm rests sell fast on here). You could even swap the interior over if you liked the 95 dash/etc better. Other than that, depends on what your truck needs and how much space you have!

Every sensor, relay and brain on it. If you don't use it, someone else will.

All engine parts you can like MAF, fuel rails/pressure regulator/injectors, starter, alternator, etc.

Some interior like arm rests, center console, switches, and definitely the dash cluster and signal/lights switch assembly.

Welcome to NPORA, home of the scavengers... :D

washer motors, spoiler w/ hinges (if it has one), pwr antenna (if it has one), rear lift glass supports, all bulbs, pwr window motors... etc. Take a look through the forums and see what people are looking for (or have been looking for) and scavenger what you can. You can either sell them or keep them for when yours fail.

How about the rims and tires? Front seats, rear seats If they are nicer than the 91 model's, check the rear diff on the 95, it might be lsd, roof rack if it has one...hmm what kind of speakers and stereo? Maybe it's better than the older model. Power steering pump, alternator, battery, you could include the extra trans cooler use for engine oil cooler. Headlights, fog lights.....uhhhh that's all I got holmes. spoiler?
