DCgabel
K so i finally got sick of seeing those nasty rusted window trims every time i go for a drive in my pathy. So first things first, is popping the interior door panel off. Its only held in by several snap clips on the inside and three Philips screws, one of which is hidden under the window switch. Remove the switch by simply tugging on the piece gently till it finally pops up. After taking the three screws out and popping the snaps. Disconnect the switch and panel lift right off. You should only need two long shank flat head screw drivers and a Philips screw driver to do this. After doing this raise the window just above the lowest position it can go to access the screws that hold the window pane in. There are two screws holding it on. (I have a clear plastic cover on my door i know some pathys dont but i just made a little cut in it to get at the screws Oh and you should take off your window visors before you start, you cant take the window out without wrecking things if you dont. kdj
When I found out the replacement cost for the trim pieces...they don't bug me so much anymore. I priced my three that need replacing at almost the price as a new pair of front fenders.

kdj
Rediculous isn't it? The place I checked wanted $84.00 each for the fronts and $82.00 each for rears. $332.00 without shipping or taxes? My rusted ones look better all the time.
snow4me
I assumed these just pushed on and were held by some sort of clips, no?

DCgabel
I assumed these just pushed on and were held by some sort of clips, no? They just clip right on the door itself. You need to unmount the window pane to pop the piece on. Trickiest part was getting the window back on the mount.

DCgabel
x2 thats my usual solution... Nope not really unless they r not rusted badly. mine where right through so water was getting inside my door which is not ideal so replacing was the route that i took unless you have a mechanical engineer friend that can machine or cnc you custom made ones.. my mech eng friend told me that after i bought and install my new ones. Oh well, lesson learned on being hastey.
