Trogdor636
My pathy does not spend much time in the garage with the door closed when I am not working on it, but after changing spark plugs the other day it sat in there for a good 6+ hours while I did some stuff around town. After coming back, I noticed a smell of gas, not strong, but enough to make me think there is a fuel leak somewhere. I glanced underneath, but cant say I saw much, but its 100+ degrees where I live so I cant say I spent much time really looking. Is there a common place where the fuel lines leak, maybe even the tank.
Tungsten
The fuel lines sometimes leak at the engine. Just tighten up the clamps and good to go!
Slartibartfast
Mine always smells like gas... I figured they just did that!
JamesRich
Also check the hoses at the fill neck to the top of the tank. James
sewebster
Check the short hoses between the two injector rails (front and back).
Precise1
Also make sure your gas cap is holding pressure. 100 degrees creates vapor pressure... B
OlBlue
X2 on Precise comment re: the expansion I had a a gas smell when I brought my 95 inside in the winter from -40 outside to the heated garage (+10C).
Trogdor636
Excellent, thanks for all the advice. I know I read somewhere that the fuel lines could rust, so I was thinking there might be a common area. I'll start checking the above mentioned areas. adamzan
Normally if nothing is rotted out these trucks will leak from 2 places. Either under the hood (tighten hose clamps) or the o-ring that seals the sending unit to the tank.
Precise1
^ That's a good break down. B

Trogdor636
I know the hoses for the fuel filter are good, one of the first things I did when I bought it back in April was change it. I will check the injector rail when its not the surface of the sun outside.

Precise1
I'm guessing Redding, Chico or somewhere like that... B
Trogdor636
I'm guessing Redding, Chico or somewhere like that... B Redding. Or "Death Valley North" as I like to call it. Its actually been sorta mild, its in the 100's a lot, but it hasnt been 110-115 yet. I hate it when its 90 outside, so anything over that I just stay inside
