MY1PATH
atleast 2 new accounts have been made today on NPORA strictly for the purpose of creating pornographic-SPAM-topics. Be careful (esp You pervy people) the links will automatically download viruses and false security alerts that download more viruses when you "click here to sove this problem" Pezzy has already delt with the first one (thanks pezzy) and the current offender is "kaffofame" I don't know how NPORA became a target for this and I'm sure there will be more to come so everone be careful! Precise1
Thanks for publicizing this. People should know not to click on questionable links, but given the normally trustworthy people here, I can see many people falling for it. We Mods do try to deal with these issues, but may not catch them right away. Don't hesitate to report them... B
Pezzy
We had another spammer this week, that was less brutal... asking off topic questions about a certain type of software I didnt dare google... if anyone comes across odd, very off topic posts like that from newbs, be very wary. Pezzy
We try, and I do apologize for the crap that gets through... I really do wish I could do more to stop it. As B mentioned, using the REPORT function is the best way to get our attention ASAP, as it will send a PM to all the mods.

88pathoffroad
I think the reason behind the recent activities by spammers is this: http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20081...il-hotmail.html The CAPTCHA system in place to prevent bots from signing up to forums, websites and games has been cracked. Pezzy
Dayum... Once it successfully registers, XRumer may take steps to avoid human detection by first posting an innocuous question regarding a specific product or service. The point of all the subterfuge is to boost the Google page rank of a site by bombarding multiple forums with product/service mentions and discussions. We had one of those last week. RedPath88
Dayum...We had one of those last week. And someone responded to it too \/ Users that can be tricked into posting their own links (perhaps in an attempt to demonstrate where a product may be found) only help the program perform its primary function. RedPath88
Just to let people know, when you do reply to a SPAM post, your just replying to a bot, not a real person. And some of them apperently check for replies and if any are found, they increase the amount their efforts. So please do not reply, just report them to us
