93 Pathfinder leaning to 1 side.

Hi Everyone;

I am new to the forum. I have a couple of questions.

1. It seems my 93 Pathfinder is leaning to one side. It seem as though the drivers side front is lower than the rest os the vehicle. Could it be the torsion bar? Can it be adjusted? And if so How?

2. I went to a stero shop today to have a new deck installed. The installer said that he has to run a couple of wires from the rear amp. Does anyone know what wires he is talking about?

Thanks

Brett

Great forum by the way.

Well the amps in the rear of the pathy are notorious for failing and they are for the front speakers, go figure. Yes you can adjust your torsion bar to level the drivers side front. Welcome aboard!

You have a flat tire...

Just kidding. :D

As headpeas said, it is most likely just the tortion bar is sagging more on that side. The adjusting nuts are on the top side of the rear tranny cross member (2 counter locking nuts). Just back the first one off, then tighten the bottom one. Be sure to measure fender heights first (tape measure) and count the number of turns of the nut you went. Do this with the truck on the ground, DO NOT jack up the truck. The bars settle slowly so it interferes with getting things leveled out.

Hey Guys;

You were right it was a low tire. LOL!!

Actually the tires are fine and I will adjust the torsion bar. Thanks for the input!

Any input on how to install an aftermarket stereo would be great. I am ok with everything other than the wiring.

yeah for the stereo you shouldnt have a problem with just installing the wire harnesses. Thats all i did on my 93 and mine works great, same with my buddys 91. I did notice it was louder because is it running through the factory amps like my radio goes to 75 and its really &^%*ing loud at 20 while my freind who has the same deck in his Pontiac grand prix gtp its about the same for loudness around 60

just wondering If others have had this problem, I'm guessing its common for pathys that don't have a passenger all the time. my driver t-bar ajuster is noticeably higher than the passenger to keep the vehicle level. I guess 15-20 years of driverside only weight will fatige it faster than the other side.
