95 XE switch?

Xmas

My 95 XE has a switch that says sport and auto. Over by the cruise control switch. It feels like when I switch it to 'auto' it shifts soft.

Then when I switch to SPORT it's like the pathy changes gears harder and later into the gear. Kind of like taking it out of OD.

What's what that??

Basically you want to stay in the auto setting unless you are hauling stuff or offroading. The power setting does (as you noticed) shift at higher RPMs which puts less strain on the motor when you have a load, but it also eats gas like mad in the process.

BTW, when in auto mode, if you want to pop it into power without hitting the switch just double pump the gas pedal. To switch back out just let off the pedal for a moment.

Actually if you press the gas hard enough once it'll come on in my truck, or if you're climbing a steep incline and you give it more gas, it'll engage.

Don't make me :stickwack: you.

It is probably happening (and I have noticed this while I'm driving) like that because you are ever so slightly letting up on the pedal before mashing it to the floor.

Actually Ryan, he's right. If you mash the pedal, regardless of double pumping, it'll go into power mode automatically.

Don't worry though, leave the :stickwack: there.....he'll deserve it, most likely, on his next post.

Oh.....sorry about your luck....trying to show that you know something, you've failed again! :stickwack:

The hill has nothing to do with it. Mash the pedal, and the power light will illuminate.

Not on mine Mr. know it all. I've floored mine many times with no pop into power mode.
