dkpath96
Hi all, just curious to see if anyone here has an interest in the presidential candidate Ron Paul? What are your thoughts/opinions on him and any other candidate? Here's mine: Dr. Paul has my vote due to his unique stand and his great leadership potential - something this country is in desperate need of right now. Harbinger
I really like Ron Paul, but his stance on Abortion is enough for him to not get my vote.

I'm in no way Libertarian, but "social" has no place in our government, you want socialism, go north. It's all the screwed up social programs that are sucking the life out of our country. Oh, on topic, Ron Paul is an idiot. Edited November 7, 2007 by GrimGreg

You might wanna waste your time and money taking care of people who don't know how to prepare and or care for their own lifes' troubles, but don't tell me have to do it. I worked construction, I've been out of work due to injuries, I had disability. I have no pity for people who put themselves in their own piss poor position in life. MikeV
Don't forget the 3 billion we give to Israel to build in the Occupied Territories... Bush sure did a good job in controlling world population... But it's time to focus on Home now. Glad gas is approaching $4 and we are taxing the hell out of cigarettes (even though we pay for our own healthcare) Go Bush Go!!! To bad he can't run for a 3rd term and finish destroying the economy; maybe invade Mexico to stop the immigrant issue. (If we annex Mexico; they are no longer immigrants!) Who could afford to live on that? It goes back to the woman that was having a go at Bush... She was working 3 jobs, still couldn't make ends meet and all he could say was, good on you. Vsicks Pathy
True, but then where will all the factories go? Did you miss the part of the post that said annex GG? For your benefit GG in case you just don't understand it. And ignore the part about the Geneva Conventions. Your Government does so there is no need for you to take notice either. dkpath96
I have a feeling there is something else sucking the life out of your country. It starts with W and ends with R NO DOUBT. That's the thing, Paul is the only Republican that wants to END the war, not extend it into Iran. All the other Repubs seem to be fear-mongering war advocates that spit 9/11 out as a battle cry. As Paul said, it wasn't a country that attacked us, so how can you argue for invading soverign nations? Obviously our current group of morons got it very wrong in Iraq. On the social programs side, Paul wants to get the feds' hands out of alot of domestic programs and turn over control to the state and local governments. This would cut wasteful spending and eliminate political lobbying and special interests that are sucking the life out of these programs that would actually get off the ground otherwise. On the other hand, of course, candidates are all talk anyways... who's to say they'll be able to do anything when they get into office. Corruption and quagmire run too deep nowadays for anything good to get done. No one that works for the government wants to lose their cushy jobs. Sorry about the rant. She was working 3 jobs, still couldn't make ends meet and all he could say was, good on you. well, that's just an example.. if you have a butt load of experience and are lucky enough to land a job at one of few large companies you can make good living in contruction. it also depends on ones trade... $20-30/h definitely can be made but that surely sin't the majority. if you think that's nothing.. the min wage is 5.85/h... by the time taxes are taken out.. there isn't poop left.. 3 jobs.. good on her, allright. Sorry about the rant. many social (help) programs are already state based.. even so when you push off more resppnsibilities onto the state one would think that there would have to be a major shift in the taxation racket.. not many are talking about it.. notice i said "shift" and not shaft as that's what we're getting here. property tax doubled in last 4y and county income tax just went up 65%

Vsicks Pathy
No, but do I take any of the quasi-political BS spewed here by you and others seriously, no. You didn't miss 'annex'. So going by your factory comment you just didn't understand it. Sad that you feel you can partake in a conversation even though you do not understand a word that is said. It does explain a lot. GrimGreg
You didn't miss 'annex'. So going by your factory comment you just didn't understand it. No, it is sad that you can't understand what I mean because you don't live here and yet you think you know what it is like here and want to tell us how to act here. You want the version a 5 year old can figure out, since I seem to be over your head all the time and you can't make a simple connection? In the 80s and 90s a lot of companies closed their factories here and moved to Mexico to open new ones so they could get away from US labor laws and OSHA regs. So I ment, if we were to annex Mexico (yeah, like that is a viable reality, which is why I ignore your BS) where would all the factories that used to be in the US and moved to Mexico go? Because, if we annexed Mexico, it would have to follow all of our minimum wage and other labor laws so the factories would have to go to some other "third world" country to avoid them. Why bother elaborating on the legality of something in international law that is not going to happen anyway when I'm only trying to make a snide comment on all the companies that fled the US for Mexico?
