Hey guys,

I'm new to this place and you have no Idea how happy I am to find it. I am looking at lifting my 95' pathfinder so I'll be on here quit a bit checking out the topics and the do's and dont's. Any advice is appreciated. I am looking to go up so I can fit 35" mudders but i am not sure how hard it will be on my Diff so I'll roam around here until I figure things out.

Right now my Pathy has 31" X 10.5 and it does a good job but I still get contact on the diff once and a while and my hitch is pretty much a pain in the ass.

So i guess i should tell a bit about myself here ... I'm 31 from Sudbury ON. I've had my pathfinder for 3 years and I love everything accept the rust. I have a cabin that was built 1k in the bush and the only way to get there is through a serious trail that was pushed through by a skidder. The road is where fords and chevs go to die ... so far it's killed one of each (neither of them mine heheh ). The road has mashed in the nerf bars of an xterra ( props to the driver for making it in though) and has caused one dodge dakota sport serious grief.

I know alot of you have more exp than I do so dont be afraid to give me a heads up on anything.

Welcome. Best of luck fitting 35" tires on without putting a solid axle in the front. Using a 3" Body lift, and 3" Suspension lift, most people fit 33" tires, myself included. Though, Saturday was my first time off road with the new body lift, and 33's, and I rubbed a lot. Nothing major.....but enough to let me know that running tires any bigger wouldn't happen.

Get yourself a set of skidplates, and a decent set of mudders after the lifts and you'll do fine.

i agree with simon...... without SAS it'd be difficult. king has a 4 +3 lift, and my new 33" STT's rub my fender flares when turning....... 35's would probably rip my fenders off

and :welcome: to NPORA!

  • 2 weeks later...

welcome to the board. I was just in sudbury last weekend to pick up my boat from a friend. There looks like lots of good places to go wheeling around there, too bad I was trailering my boat otherwise I would have gone exploring for a bit. Post up a picture when you get the chance. But yeah, mud tires are probably the best upgrade to do first. I know it's rocky up there so a set of skid plates might come in handy too. Search the forum for 'Black Panther' or 'skid plates' and you will find some threads about them.
