Are you getting pounded by all these storms?

Whats going on everybody in the PNW? So, I am down here in Olympia and most of these storms that have pushed through hardly bother us. I know some to the north get it a lot worse. So, I think everyone should post something(pic or description) about what its been like for them. This winter is for the record books.

Personally, here at my place, we only saw a little snow and ice back in November. The windstorm knocked out power for not even 24 hrs. No other damage at the house or my work. I am hoping there will be something to photograph with this new storm, but then again, maybe not.

I rather enjoyed watching the 120-foot doug firs next door wave in the wind like streamers of ribbon out a car window. We got snow twice but it lasted about 2 hours both times. Yay?

We may even get snow tomorrow! YAY! Oh wait, I can't drive the Pathy. :(

We have had some interesting wind storms, no major damage around my home... one of the boys left the plastic sled out in the wind and it went bye bye :P Got woke up one night to something banging on the house. Turned out to be one of the BBQ Tools....

Its been interesting for sure. I'm in Bonney Lake, about 15 miles east of Tacoma, 40 miles SW of Seattle. So far, we've had...

Floods

These are from over and near the freeway by my office.

Wind

These are from my block. I didn't have the stomach to take a pic of the neighbor across the street who took one to the roof. The wind brought us 5 days without power, which would have been much longer if the neighbors didn't break out a monster chainsaw and a tow truck to clear the roads and lines.

Then there's a little snow. This was the first bit early in the evening. Nothing much at all, although the ice it brought the next morning was the real problem for most people.

So yeah, I'm ready for summer. That, or our trip to Hawaii next Dec. :contract:

Yah i am in Tacoma and we got about an inch. Unfortanetly the sun is out and melting it all but i have already missed 4 days of school this year and we usually dont miss any. After the wind storm we didn't have power for maybe a day, but we have a generator so it didn't matter that much. During the floods we had one street that was about 8 inches deep and maybe 30 feet long of just water and some other deep puddles. So we havent been too bad, but yah we are getting snow, wind, and all the rain.

Right now it's lightly snowing and we have about .25" on the ground at 32 degrees. Winter storm, my ass.

Move somewhere better, you wuss!!!! :D Its a balmy 22.5 F on my fabulous xmas gift of a remote external thermometer. Not much to our midwest folks, but it does qualify as freezing and its F'ing cold in my book. Carry on...

Yeah my drive into work on Thrusday was a fun one.. I stayed clear of I5 the whole way to Seattle because of the jack-knifed semi's, wrecked, stuck or otherwise abandoned cars all over the place. (bunch of sissies  )

I drove Pacific Ave to downtown Tacoma then road Pacific Hwy the rest of the way to So Seattle/Tukwilla (where it turns into East Marginal Way) then on to work across from Boeing Feild.

In Tacoma I had a guy in a Ranger turn completely sideways in front of me, because he stood on his brakes going down the hill at the train station in Tacoma... then he just sat there and did nothing, I ended up going around him (partially using the side walk) as did the guy in the X behind me.

Going up the hills in Federal Way and through the Des Moines area, every body decided to run right up on cars stopped at red lights... stopping themselves. Then they wondered why it was so hard to start moving again

We got hit hard with the snow and ice.. I live near the airport on a rather high elevation.

I measured 6.5" at the peak... Our road got shut down because of the ice. And our power was out for about 6 hours.

The ice just won't go away.. oh and I just found out that the windshield wiper fluid in my pathy was only rated for 30F degrees . so now it's frozen solid :P

All of us must hit the trails. Even Redpath, one of us can give him a ride. Rumor has it he owns a Pathfinder, although I've yet to see it...

What a biotch!!! P...

It's not the truck preventing me... it's the timing of past trips :contract:

Agreed, just not next Saturday... or every other after then. Unless it's close and I can leave home a couple after noon ;)

The only thing I did last week when the snow was here, was to go out in to a empty field near home and do some donuts and figure 8's. I almost took out a stop sign when I was leaving :D
