I have been checking my millage over the past months and was averageing 17 to 18 MPG. Now all of the sudden it has droped to 10 to 12 MPG. My pathfinder is a 97 4wd with 120K miles. I have never replaced the front two 02 sensors. Could that be the problem?

Absolutely Not. The timing belt gives no warnings before it breaks. Your odometer (and maintenance history) is the only sign that your timing belt needs to be replaced. It is due every 105k miles.

However, if the timing is off, you will get poor fuel economy.

I just wanted to mention that I'm at like a record personally... I've gone 240 miles and still have 1/4 a tank of gas! And I was doing 85 MPH on I-76 with the full tank a few days ago! And I drive the thing like a sports car...
