  1. I like to go WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLING. Incorporates the mud & the rocks.
  2. Yup, truck was full of water. Yeah, you should stick to the left on that crossing... it drops off pretty quick on the right. He just caught the edge, and started to slide. It was a pretty incredible recovery.
  3. I suppose it never hurts to ask... might find a magical garden of awesome buys that is hidden in the depths of the interwebs. I have yet to find it myself.
  4. I'm not familiar with the newer pathys, but I have a few thoughts... 4Lo, I typically only use for off road, or if I am really stuck, (driving over snow banks) really low speed stuff. Otherwise, on the road I use 4 hi. In my pathy, and the older ones, you have to make a complete stop and throw the truck in neutral to get into 4lo. 4 hi, I can do "on the fly" or while driving. Same goes for putting the truck back into 2. Sometimes it may take a while to go back into 2, (and for the light to go off), as the system is still binding, or feels traction. (I'm wording that part really poorly)... sometimes it takes a full stop, or even throwing it into reverse to get it out of 4. As I said, I don't know if, or how your truck differs. Oh, and welcome to NPORA!
  5. I was gonna say, give the guy a break, we cant see what is going on on the other side of the truck, or under the truck. That said wheeling with a good crew with the right recovery equipment will get you out of... pretty much anything. We've recovered a truck, in the water (passenger side mirror in the water) on the edge of rolling into a lake. He was high centered on a huge rock we couldnt move, and the truck only wanted to go towards the lake. One winch (broke the line 2x, and once earlier that day), some recovery straps, a highlift recovery kit used as a come along, a few guys, and a lot of organization saved us from having to call a truck in. This pic was taken while it was still light:

A friend of mine from grade school checked out the NPORA website, and sent me this message: aweee *heart* pathfinders!

Completely redesigned, and reorganized, this new site will be the home base for the Nissan Pathfinder Off Road Association. FEATURES: Front page: TRUCK OF THE MONTH WINNER! As before the Truck of the Month winner will be proudly displayed on the main home page. News Updates: The sidebar on most pages feature NPORA News. 10. Official NPORA Membership Phase 3: Open for Business! With the launch of the newly designed nissanpathfinders.net page, we are happy to announce that we are now in Phase 3 of the Official NPORA Membership Update. What's this about? For those who are new, and are wondering what this is all about, some of our members had personal pages up on the old .com site, when our founder Mr. Jim was running the show. With a $10 donation members got a space on the website to show off their trucks. The membership is currently free to new members, however there are some rules. (see "Who is Eligible?") What does being an "Official NPORA Member" mean to me? As an official NPORA member, you get your own member page on the nissanpathfinder.net webpage. This page will include up to 2 images of your Pathfinder and a brief description of your truck. It's a place to show off your rig, share your modifications and inspire other Pathfinder owners. Who is Eligible? Eligible members must be active members on the NPORA Forums. New members must be registered on this forum for a minimum of one year, and also have a minimum of 100 posts on the board. We want to encourage people who are truly excited about their pathfinder, and this online community to become members. Does this effect my membership on the forum? Although you need to be a member on the forum to have a membership page, it does not effect your membership as a registered user on the forum. How do I become an official NPORA Member? Check out the membership page on the nissanpathfinders.net website: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/membership.html Phase 1 & 2 member pages have been set up and uploaded for you to browse and share. Check em out! For more info on the website launch, check out this thread: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=21200
  11. Good eye, I changed that one this afternoon.
  12. ding! ding! ding! Right now it's all the 2007 & 2008 TOTM winners. Thanks for the compliments all. I do agree, it is a bit bright, I think it's because we're used to the dark grey block sitting up there. 88's truck at the top... he was playing with the settings a few months ago... I think it's somewhat unfinished business.
  13. Ohhh boy... we've had a few people selling stickers over the years. Unfortunately no one has sold them reliably for more than a few months at a time. I don't believe we have anyone doing this now, as the last guy who was selling them has gone MIA.
  14. More info here: http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/RockSliderZ.shtml#NPF
  15. The sliders I have also use the stock step rail mounts, and they have had the living hell beaten out of them. I've dragged my truck over plenty of rocks my lowrider doesn't belong on, and I've slammed the weight of my truck down on them many times. They have never failed me. The reason a stock step rail is going peel up and cause more destruction is that the entire rail is made out of a much lighter, and weaker metal. That said, the grand wizard of that company is a member on this board, his name is DaddyRim, if you would like to ask him some questions about his product.
  16. I think black & black can be pretty slick.
  17. READY WELDER: This is an older thread, so I dont know if the discount still applies, but the ready welder is great to have on the truck & on the trail: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=16853 I actually picked up a Ready Welder for Simon for his birthday last year. He's used it at home a couple times, and has had no complaints. It has also come in handy on the trail once. Simon's review on another board: Vid by TrailChaser: " wmode="transparent" style="width:400px; height:326px;" id="VideoPlayback" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashvars=""> and HEY, didnt you already ask this? http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=12317
  18. Yikes, good luck man. Looking forward to some pics.
  19. Well, if you happen to order that relo kit, and install it, I'll be very interested to know it works.
  20. I dunno about that one... we bought the Transdapt oil filter relocation kit and tried to install it twice. Failed entirely the first time, second time Simon got it in, but it leaked like a mofo as soon as I started the truck. Sure Drain: I dont have the # off hand, but I have the package in the truck, I should be able to get that for you.
  21. Draining oil isn't an issue, I have a Fram Sure Drain. It comes with a replacement drain plug & cap... you take the cap off, and connect the supplied hose to the plug, and it will drain thru the hose... This can be fit thru any of the holes that are in the skidplate. The difficult part is the oil filter, as the front skid need to be removed, or at least moved, to get to.
  22. As far as I know, the skids that Marcel makes fit any year R50. He set them up so no drilling is required, and the pieces all use stock holes. The T-case skid may be a bit more difficult. I believe the one I have (From Blackpanther) could use some work, as the mounting points are not optimal.
  23. Looking forward to hearing (and seeing!) more.
