  1. :o nice way to put it!
  2. I dont see why not, unless youre afriad it might get grabbed by a treebranch when offroad. Luckily on the X it comes with the airdam, but thats where my hubby hid his, face down to keep water/rain out...
  3. Before getting my lift, I also asked around and heard about the strain on the CV's... To be honest, I havent really had a look at the angles, and compared them to before... I suppose I will deal with that when the time comes... I wanted a lift so thats the price I may have to pay some day if they wear... besides getting less lift - I do believe getting manual hubs will help lessen wear... In general, I can't say anything bad about the kit... The truck rides a lot more like a truck now, not so cushy as it was stock, but it only took a week or two to get used to that. Mostly I noticed the bumps in the road more... and I have to take speed bumps a bit easier, and watch out for pot holes (what am I, in a lowrider or what?) as the struts tend to top out sometimes when I forget and hit them a bit too fast. I dont really have an accurate idea of how my fuel consumption has changed, before i got it - i was getting about 400km/tank. But now I get about the same - but the weather has warmed up a lot - I know I got a lot closer to 500km's last summer when the truck was stock. My tires are actually 31's (31.2 to be exact!) There are a few guys here with a lot more knowlege here... GET POSTING GUYS HELP US OUT!! haha.. I'm pretty new to all of this too!
  4. Well, first off, youre right - there is no such thing as a bodylift for our pathfinders... we have a unibody truck, as opposed to a seperate frame & body. as for the lift, I have 2" lift coils from AC, which are stiffer coils than the stock ones, so the truck sits higher... you also want to look at upgrading the shocks & struts to handle the lift... Do a search on here, and other boards, you will find lots of info... That's what I did before purchasing mine And WELCOME!
  5. I have heard that... although back in the day I was going out with a guy that had an '81 Firebird, with really wide back tires... people had warned us just the same, but no one really knew for sure... so we went down to the cop shop to ask, and they looked at us like huh, wtf? Although, it might be worth looking into again... times may have changed, or the cops I meet today might have a clue.
  6. my thoughts - I dont care for the look of the homemade snorkel. But hey, it's not my truck, it's yours - so go wild! No need to get all riled up about it all.
  7. I suppose which lift you get is entirely up to you, and we all have our own opinions... after researching here, and on other boards to see what other people have and suggest, I went with the 2" AC lift with bilstein shocks & KYB struts... I am very happy with the results - I've had it in just over a month. I do quite a bit of highway driving to & from work... I find I've slowed down a bit on the highways, and you can kiss any "fuel economy' you thought you had goodbye... (although, I also installed a roof basket at the same time, and I know that causes A LOT of drag) I've had it off road a couple times, been happy in the mud, on the snow, and on rocks... I'm not too sure about tires sizes - I'm sure others will chime in here... I was going to get the same tires you are looking at, but I got an awesome deal on the Bridgestone Duellers, that I wasnt about to pass up. I was able to fit 275/70R16 on the truck with the lift, but I also got the AR757 Wheels, so they wouldnt rub the strut... my install pics are here
  8. I'm not a fan of the homemade snorkel, but that looks pretty clean... nice job!
  9. I'm trying to make that same decision for my 99.5 I like the look without, and when I'm out playing in the mud I can get the truck right dirty, as my tires stick out... but on the otherhand, the tires also toss rocks up at the paint, and rocks are not as forgiving as mud to the paint job....
  10. I dont have any pics... but there's not much to see... I mounted it between the rad & the front grill... not sure if your pathy has the room in there like mine does... but I am pretty happy with it there. My hubby had his hidden in his roof rack on the X so it was really easy to hear, unlike mine which does lose some sound, as it's under the hood...
  11. If I was at work I could fill this page in about 15 minutes...

  17. Up hill both ways, in 4 feet of snow with no shoes? hehe It does blow my mind the lack of respect a lot of kids have these days. Although, I get on the road and drive to work, and am apauled by the lack of respect adults have for one another. Sad times.
  18. Are we closing our eyes and imagining, or are ya gonna post a picture! Is it done, that depends entirely on you and your wish list!
  19. Welcome... or is it Welcome back?
  20. I think I'm in love! They're starting to get a few aftermarket toys for the 05's... and more to follow I am sure... as for a first year truck, our Xterra is a first year (2000), and I have heard it was the best year out there - and not just from my husband... heh!
