  1. Such a simple thing cup holders are... my old truck didnt have any, I used to jam my cups in between the seat & the transmission hump. That was great until the one day there was something down there that pierced the bottom of the paper cup from micky d's. The coke stayed in the cup while it was there, as what ever pierced it, kept it in. But when I went to have a sip, chaos sent in! Pop gushing out the bottom, so I go to toss the entire thing out the window... gush gush gush... WINDOW CLOSED!! gush gush gush... ok out the door... gush gush gush... DOOR LOCKED!!! meanwhile more than half the pop is now in my lap. Yes, that was a lovely puddle to sit in on the way home! haha...
  2. We had an eventful weekend offroad... SATURDAY: We took out some of the newer members of SOXC for a Rookie Run, to show em the ropes, and have some fun. While there we found a Dodge Ram abandoned in a huge water hole, running. Turns out it had been running all morning, and no one was claiming it. We called the cops, and it had been reported stolen. We had the cops come in (my hubby had to go to the trail head to bring him in) and we were then given the go-ahead to pull the truck out of the hole... one jeep - no go two jeeps - no go two jeeps, doubled up - nope, it's not even budging Then the tow truck comes in, and give her a pull... no go. The tow truck was on two wheels, and it didn't even flinch. Then the winch cable snapped - I was well out of the way, but it certainly snapped with some force! (no one was hurt). A second tow truck came in and also snapped a winch line. Some time after we left, they got two tow trucks on it, and finally yanked it out. Word on the street (trail?) is that it was the owner that left it there, they got it stuck the night before, pooched either the t-case or the transmission, and decided to open the doors, smash the back window, and call it in stolen. I hope the jerk gets caught. all the pics are here: http://www.muddynissan.com/photos/dunerookie0405/ SUNDAY: We went back to the same place, took the long way in... found some nice sticky mud. Once in there, it was a zoo, hillbilly city, idiots drinking and what not. So we headed to the other side, where it was quiet to have lunch. We were ready to head out when we noticed some commotion on the other side of the bowl. Seems the Ford 150 we saw crest the hill we were on, and go back down, tried it across the way, and got a bit close to the edge, and rolled! Driver and Passenger were ok, although we escorted the passenger out in a Jeep, and she had a ride in the magic bus to the hospital. Although she seemed fine, and obviously quite shook up, we were afraid there was more to it, and she seemed to be going into shock. With the help from a Mercedes Army truck, we winched the truck back on its wheels, and then back out of the gully... all the pics here: http://www.muddynissan.com/photos/dune041705/
  3. If you're mechanically inclined at all, or have friends who are, I would suggest doing them yourself. I did mine last fall, and as XPLORx4 said, it's pretty easy, just a bit messy. I have heard it recommended if you wheel your truck (mud & water Xings) to do them more often. When I did mine, they still had the original grease in them (at maybe 80,000 kms) and they were still in good shape.
  4. *ears perk up like a dogs* Slick, looks like you wont be bored for some time!
  5. I refuse to vote, I dont care to jinx anything I havent had mine come on. As for the O2 Sensor, my old truck was set up that the light came on after so many KM's... you were supposed to change the sensor, and then switch up two wires... sometimes to make the light go away I would just change up the wires. (I treat my pathy better than I did the old truck)
  6. Nice shots! What awesome scenery out there! We were off road all weekend, and finished the weekend in the hot tub, so I'm sure that pathy enjoyed the hot springs just as much
  7. Welcome to the club! Youre right - the search function will do wonders, but if all else fails, ask. You will probably find a lot of info in the Garage Section, and also the section for your year pathy. My hubby used to have a firestikon his X, and had no problems with it, got pretty decent range. The only reason we changed it, was to upsize it to a bigger antenna.
  8. Nice shots! How nice is it to see green!! OUr trees are only starting to bug here - so everything is brown. I like the white fronty and the '05 (pezzy has a crush on frontiers)
  9. yes siree! Problem is, to push the second one all the way forward, I have to disconnect my cb antenna, as it is in front of it, which means tearing apart the inside of the truck to disconnect from the CB. It's a magna mount, and doesnt fit under the bar. So, the bars stay on!
  10. maybe the file is too big? maybe the file is CMYK instead of RGB (sorry if that is graphic jargon to you) .... dunno...
  11. not sure if yours are like mine... (sorry I dont have a pic,, not something ive ever concidered snapping a pic of) but mine have a rubber piece that runs across the length of the bar - along the top, if you peel it back from the corners, there are screws there to tighten... I believe it's some fandangled hex though - I was told I should have a tool for it - came with the truck - but I dont... I actually want to get the factory bars off of my truck, as we put the thule bars on it... but we couldnt get them off...
  12. Oh it's been done... the Xterra has some nice sliders...
  13. Ive had my eye on those for a while now... esp since there is a pair for sale here on the board... shipping is always a b*tch for me... esp being in Canada.
  14. lookin good... that's the next thing I have to start researching... I few people made their own last year, I have to see what it cost them. (edited my dyslexic garble)
  15. look on ebay for trunk release solenoids, i said 2 because you can install 2 one for the glass window and one for the actual trunk door So what kind of a brain surgeon do you need to be to do this? I think it would be a great thing to install...
  16. Congrats - welcome to the 'newly lifted club'! Looks good!
  17. Yup, it's on my pathy... we got them off of ebay, she had the sticker listed as "Life is short drive a Nissan naked" but we asked to change it to Pathfinder (and Xterra for his truck)
  18. Yes, they were great - I got a bit nervous when I hit any muddy spots, but they did fine... That pic was my first stuck, got caught on the ice as you can tell... Snow & Ice were my problems yesterday!
  19. alrighty pics are up... STOCK: LIFTED: ADD WHEELS & TIRES: POSER SHOT:
  20. In light of all the mods, my shiny new truck needed to get muddy this weekend!! A beautiful spring day, perfect for wheeling so a few of us hit the trail! You can tell by the new matte brown paint job my pathy has - we had fun! Pics are here!
  21. 'fraid not seeing as the R-50's are a unibody - we can't do a body lift... I just got the AC 2" lift, and yes it is a stiffer ride, but after a week of driving with it - I barely notice. It's a truck, not a cadillac.
  22. Lots of pics to follow - we got home late last night & I didnt have a chance to sort thru them all... I have to say... my rookie run KICKED A$$!
