But your not worried that they will rub now? I think the hubs will be fine. Your not running massive tires on them so they'll be fine (remember when tyler had 35's on his?). But i think you might end up needing a spacer to clear the strut or prevent rubbing.
-
Ohhhh...well that makes sense that they would rub. Those are pretty tall (and skinny!). So...get cam bolts. Bottom line. End of discussion and baby babbering.
-
You should just ask a reapair shop.

Yea i wanted to know this same thing. My bad boy is in dire need of a fluid flush (160k and I don't think any fluids besides oil and coolant have been changed before-ive had this since it had 145k)
-
I have a question. You have 235's and positive camber, and it rubs??? Whats going on with your vehicle?

Nice tires. I have goodyear AT/S's on mine right now and I like the way they ride on the road. Let us know how they ride. They have some sipes so they look like they will handle good too and not have so much road noise (but I like the road noise!!).

Now, since you need a front axle, wouldn't you have to change out the rear axle also? The waggy gears ar 3.10 arent they? I don't know. But I was looking at a Bronco front axle. I wonder if that track is close? Also, a buddy of mine just got his JGC in an accident and it's scrap. Would the axle off that be good? I know it8s a little dinky D30, but I don't plan on doing any serious off roading. I just wonder how the track width is on this. Hmmm....

for real. Do like they do on the chevy's with IFS. Longer control arms with longer axle shafts with drop brackets for a 7"lift!! Can we get some love?
-
But you also have the 96-99 R50. We have more bumper clearance because we don't have those pretty boy flares coming so far into the wheel well.
-
Bad ass. Plan on selling any?

alright. See, if people start sas'ing our rigs, maybe companies will look up and say hey, let's make a kit! Calmini maybe?

Insurance...did you telle them about your modifs..
180sx replied to fleurys's topic in General Forums
stfu and plpd? This is what this world is coming to in the land of technology. Soon, text books will have this, the bible will have 'OMG" in it and no one will laugh, they'll just say 'LOL'. Dead world!! (sorry, off topic) On my RX-7 (I know, not a pathy, but same principle) i got covered. Then i dropped about 3.5k in it. Told the insurance company, and they said they would cover it. I faxed them reciepts, and they acknowleged they got them. Got into an accident (dumb mistake on my part - but i don't race on the street!!) and the insurance company dropped me! HEY! What the hell? They paid for damages and all that, then dropped me. Said that because my car had mods, they put it in the equation that these mods had a part in the accident (which is not possible since it was mainly suspension on the car) and that it was in the best intrest in the company to not cover me. Tell me that doesn't blow? But at leas they covered everything before dropping me that time. Sorry if its a bit long, but thats my story. Now when i do mods, i will not tell the insurance company. There is way that i have heard of. A buddy told me that if you tel the insurance company that you can have an ASE certified mechanic inspect it and declare that non of the mods contribute to any un-safetyness (is that even a word?!?!) that the insurerer should have no problem insuring you. Just hear say, but i never asked before. Jose -
Laxman's 2001 R50 LSD Modification and Install
180sx replied to vengeful's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Wow...impressive. Sooooo...do plan on commiting services for this? Like, build the LSD for someone (of course payment would be in order) or is this too much of a task to do? jose -
Ever think that it 'lifted' so much because the stock springs were just sagging that much? I don't about yours, but it is only 2 years older than mine (and 11 years old) and mine is like an inch and a half lower than stock. Just a thought. Jose

Max tire size VS Lift Kit Used VS Custom or OE Wheels
180sx replied to fleurys's topic in R50 FAQ's & Pinned Topics
That tie size is stock my friend, so yes it ewould work. -
If you don't mind me asking, how much did it end up being from the local shop?

OR! you can get a head unit that has separate RCA jacks for the sub, that way the bass for the sub is separate from the bass to the speakers. But if you don't have money, then that might not be an option for you. Turning the loud off. Hmm...when I do that all my bass goes away. And using a 4 channel amp on L5's...Good luck with that. Hopefully the amp has an internal low-pass crossover built in to take the highs away from the subs. Or you could even risk burning your amp up from being under powered by the needs of the subs. Jose

well, go to the auto store and pick up some brake lube grease stuff. Take your caliper off and grease the slide bolts and any metal-metal areas. Should help. Jose
-
Well, get your check engine light scanned first and see what it says. Jose

Now I have a question. What kind of fan clutch do we have? Is the VG and VQ the same or different? I could have sworn the fan clutch was like all others (you know, rpm sensitive, when you hit a cetrtain point the fan stops spinning). Jose
-
Like they said, its more likely to be wheel balance. Although you could have a bent rim? Or even have water inside your tire (bad air, or if you had a flat and use that green ooze crap). Or your alignment came off. Or it's a gremlin (my money is on this! ) Jose

biggest tire that can stuff into the rear fender?
180sx replied to alexrex20's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
bro-ho, bro-ho, its lifted trucks you know! -
I wasn't talking about lifting it 4" that way. All I was saying was that if you get the AC springs it extends the shock at rest more than stock. If you add the stud extender, it pushes the shaft down more so it's not so extended, thus bringing the shaft to a more stock-like posistion. using this would hopefully stop the topping out. the only issue I saw here was over-extending since in a way it would increase the overall length the strut can extend. But reading your post also made me think about when it is compressed if it would actually lose up travel because of it. Hmm... Jose
-
Stupid CV's...What about installing longer control arms, extending the CV shafts, and lifting 4"? Would the longer axle provide less of an angle? Man, wonder how much it would cost to do all of that! Haha. Jose
-
OK, so I've been doing all kinds of research to get ready to lift my bad boy. Now, an issue I always read is topping out the struts. So I was talking to a friend who just lifted his tundra. He has a spacer in between the spring and top mount. Now, thats now what I cared about. To achieve the actual lift his strut has a 'stud extender' at the end of it to add length to the shaft. Wow. Now, if we could use a stud extender on ours, say like a 1.5" extender, wouldn't that be enough to prevent the topping out issue? Or would this just cause more headache with over extending the CV's? Jose
