  1. Seems to me that 400 - 500 is a very reasonable price for a supercharger kit (even without supercharger included), especially if you can get the M90 cheap on ebay. Most kits that include the supercharger are at least 2K, and can go up to huge amounts. Too bad I have the VG33E...
  2. one word: search It has been discussed before
  3. Thats a well designed site, nice work . The shield coated in black looks awesome, looking forward to mine
  4. 1. thats your call 2. no, the largest tire that will fit with AC's 2" lift is a 32", regardless of the rim used 3. You can get 16x7's if you get new tires that fit 16" rims. but you have an early R50, right? So you don't need 16 inch rims to clear the brake caliper, 15" will be fine, cheaper, and tires for that size rim will also generally be cheaper. 4. american racing is a reputable brand with good products, but it you want black steel rims, just about any vendor will work. 5. If you look at your wheel, you wil see that you have 6 bolts, therefore a rim with a 5 bolt pattern will not fit. The correct pattern is 6x5.5
  5. the rims in the first pic are factory, while Mr.Jim's are aftermarket. They will both fit, (same bolt pattern and all), but I wouldn't expect to find rims like mr. Jims at a wreckers.
  6. pretty much the only big deterrent for me getting a rear locker (besides the rather huge price...) is the fact that I have the LSD back there, and would have to get a new carrier (still not sure exactly what that part consists of). The price of the locker, installation, air compressor, and new carrier is a lot to swallow, considering the many other mods that could be done at that price. However, a locker is still a huge desire of mine
  7. 31's on the stock rim fit fine with the strut. If you're looking to go to 32's, a 7 or 8 inch wide rim with approximately 4" of backspacing will give you enough clearance on the strut. And this stuff doesn't only happen to pathfinders. Most jeeps have to get at least a 2" lift to even think about 31's. Every car has its oddities, I if you want a car like the "others" then go get a jeep or ford. See how you're doing at 100K then . But new rims wouldn't be too expensive if you got some black steelies, like squam1 here for example.
  8. dang, for that price I might as well get an air locker. I'll go talk to a differential shop though, get the low down
  9. I think I'd have a real tough time getting used to that configuration if it was a manual transmission. Shifting with the left hand... what?
  10. yes, all R50's are V6's. 16" should work fine, there is a member on AC's board who installed a 16" Permacool Fan and it works great. However, he goes to Baja on a regular basis and says he would have liked it if he had gotten an 18" fan instead.
  11. Fluid, huh? I'll have to look into that one, I don't know if its ever been changed (bought the car used w/ 48K, haven't had it changed in my ownership).
  12. Positive I have the LSD, I have the "LSD oil only" orange sticker back there on the pumpkin. And I'm 95% positive its worn out, only one rear tire was spinning whenever I lost traction on the most recent trip . So where would I go about getting/having installed these clutches?
  13. I also think that new struts right now would be a good idea. I figure that more money spent now = less money spent later. As for the install, its your call. giving it to a shop would be ten times easier, but also more expensive, on top of all the other money already spent.
  14. I'm not sure what they are supposed to be exactly, but I wouldn't worry about your speeds if I were you, anything under 1000 at idle w/ or w/out AC doesn't seem to be a cause for concern. I think mine also idles a bit high with AC on, butI haven't really paid attention. Anyways, my car idles at about 1300 when its cold in the mornings
  15. I recently dicovered (the hard way) that my LSD is worn out pretty much completely. I would have one tire on the ground and the other barely lifting (checkout the flex in the attachment! All stock except for shocks!), but only the one without traction would spin. It sucked . But anyways, a Locker is really pricey for my 33 spline H233B, (along with other problems concerning that mod), so I was wondering what can be done to give some life to my LSD. Totally new unit? Or can the existing one be tightened up? Thanks
  16. If you have the right tools and a manual, you should be able to figure it out. The rear shouldn't be bad at all, but the front is more complicated. You'll need a spring compressor, among other things. When I got my shocks and struts, I did the shocks myself but had pep boys put in the struts for a good price. I didn't want to mess with all of the things up there.
  17. Yeah, I don't see any of the links to their products on there. Maybe they are restructuring their site with updated pics/prices or things like that. Hopefully
  18. yeah, sleeves, shims, whatever. Same things I was talking about. Thats a bummer about the strut though, hopefully it all gets worked out
  19. I'm actually interested in the shield, the superskid is a bit out of the budget range right now. Could you give me a ballpark estimate on shipping costs from your warehouse to Zip Code 80126 (colorado)? I know I'm supposed to email you, but I'm not final on the order right now Thanks
  20. I got mine at pep boys, it includes early frontiers, the 3.3 litre Pathfinder and the 3.5 litre Pathfinder And it is the Haynes
  21. I have got the AC Rancho shocks, not Blisteins though. However, I beleive there were metal shims that came with the shocks that had to be fitted into the bushings on either end. These therefore made the shocks fit tightly on the mounts. Did you just get the package and give it to your friend for install, or did you look through it first? Maybe yours had shims also, but he just forgot to put those shims in
  22. All of that stuff would help your rig perform better off road, but you should ask yourself how far you want to let the mods go. If you really want a four wheeler capable of doing anything, your best bet would be to get a 4wd vehicle (Pathfinder, of course ). But if you just want better all around performance to have a bit mure fun and just mess around with, then go for the lift kit. There are a few lifted 2wd's around here (actually, one of the TOTM's this month, correct?), and they are doing just fine
  23. Didn't some older pathys have discs? Or am I totally mistaken? I could have sworn I heard a reference to the discs on older pathys somewhere. I'm 99% positive that the 31 to 33 switch occurred at the same time as the unibody switch, so in 96. I would assume the mounts and widths are similar or identical, because both axles are still H233B's, but with slightly different internals. Maybe 88 or someone knows for sure
