    Head removal

I did the same thing on both sides... extensions and u-joints, Have someone reach from the top to hold the socket on the nuts. First things first... get some penetrating oil on them and get it hot. I couldn't torch mine so I slapped oil on them and ran it up to operating temp. Hit with some more oil as it was cooling down. Good luck
  2. You knock Casey.T on the floor a few times to make sure he is unconscious, then open his wallet, snatch $226, and run home
  3. I suspected a clogged heater core but I hear it's abitch to replace/repair. I'll go thermo first just to be sure (my water pump is starting to make funny sounds) and see if it fixes it. Now... if it would just get above freezing here so I could do the work...
  4. the thermo is simply a mechanism that allows the coolant to flow through the radiator. If it were failed closed, the engine would overheat. Failed open and it would take a long time to get the entire system up to temp. I can also open the rad cap and watch the fluid to see when the flow begins as the thermo opens.
  5. so my 95 has been showing barely over 'cold' on the temp needle when at operating temp. Of course, it's been frigging cold here but I believe it used to read just shy of 1/2. Anyway, the heater blows luke warm. Gone are the days where you could turn the pathy into a sauna. I know the thermostat is ok and am assuming the temp sensor is fouled and not reading correctly but I'm getting concerned that my ass is gonna freeze before too long if the heater doesn't start blowingg hot air. Any suggestions as to what would cause the lack of heat?
  6. hmmm... so many options....
  7. yep. If I don't have them, I can get them within a day. I just can't host them all so I put one up at a time as requested or I can burn a CD and snail-mail if someone covers the costs (mailer and postage).
  8. I have the 01 manuals as well as others. Not sure if the US manuals appll fully to overseas vehicles but I can provide them if you want.
  9. ... wait for it..... the one that fits. :-) had to be done.
  10. I seem to recall that taking the starter out isn't enough. There's a plate there that, when removed, will allow better access. Disconnect your coil and turn the engine/converter by hand on the crankshaft pully (big socket)
  11. 176 to 190 in a single hit. gotta go work in the gym some more now. 190 to 198 with a second. should I mention that they were online hits against the VP of a well established gang?
  12. a visual check will work if you look just after you start the engine. If leaking, the raw fuel that leaked wouldn't have time to evap off yet. Hose will be wet with gas. Easier to see if you have a dirty engine.
  13. mine barely moves into the lined area. Blows warm air but considering the temp it's starting with, it's probably heating it up pretty good.
  14. so... any of you new folks around want to get in on the game, feel free to visit HERE to signup. it's quick and free.
  15. [4340] and not willing to help out at all. I'm done with him. He takes this game way more seriously than I care to.
  16. actually, I could care less about the oil. I'm trying to use the situation to get ahead in the game and get a foot in the door.
  17. so now this asshat sends me an email telling me to respond or I'll get to know the hospital very well. Then there are a couple of guys hitting me all day today (not that I care since I only really get onto the game once or twice every couple days) get a frigging life
  18. The seals around the glass are fine. I would expect to be able to change the sound by pulling the door tighter if the door seals were going bad or if it were loose but I will check them when it's light out. Never thought of the grommet for the wires.
  19. 95 pathy 4dr. Lately, I have noticed a wind noise from my passenger door. I have pulled on it, pushed on it, felt around it, etc but can't figure out why it has become so noisy. It's difficult to diagnose while I'm driving but it seems to be noisiest near the front of the door under the panel (below the door handle). Anyone else have this issue before? What was the root of the problem?
  20. no cash out of pocket for me. and I just scored... Someone was trying to list 500 oil at 1000000 each. they listed at $1 each. I got 500 oil for $500 Guy wants to trade back for $1000. decisions decisions...
  21. yea, remove the nut and make sure everythings loose, turn on the radio and grab the antenna mast and as it comes up, continue to pull. You will have to pull about 6" of the toothed nylon out of the gear when you get to fulle xtension. Putting one back is just the reverse. Turn on the radio, feed the nylon into the home (the right way) and push down gently as you have someone turn the radio off. It should grab and pull in. Alternately (at least on the WD21's), you can get at the assembly by taking off the fender off.
  22. wasn't me. I'm just picking on Thomas a little bit
  23. and I just dumped 1K of oil at 3.5k each
