I too am looking at Ironman springs. Hopefully I will be buying these with in the next 2 weeks or so...From what I have looked at Ironman has been around for since 1958 in AU and ARB-old man emu since about 1975...Both ironman and OME have worlwide sales and uses...the only ironman distribution i know of is up in NJ, through a company called www.camel4x4.com... I talked to the owner Eli at length about the Ironman springs for the R50's...they only have one set for front (up to 110lbs over stock) and rear (up to 440lbs over stock)...plenty of strength for later upgrades...
-
yea they said max lift would be between 1 and 1.5 inches....which is what im looking for...not going for a full 2 inch lift here...just more of a cost effective load carrying cappability ect..... the price is the best i have seen

In looking and talking to the guys at rocky road....they also suggested Ironman 4x4 springs... www.ironman4x4.com to which only has one company in the states that sell there products.... www.camel4x4.com Ironman only has one spring set for R50's... front spring can cadle stock to 110 lbs and rear to handle up to 440 lbs... and sell these in pairs for $120. Ironman has been around since 1953 in AU and has world wide sales... Has anyone delt with either of these companies?

ok i read and re-read the pinned topic in the FAQ.....has nothing about part numbers wich was why i also asked on the forum like i did...what part number?? 922 923 921?? some sites say heavy some say meduim duty...what is what... i want med. duty in the front and heavy duty in the rear... thanx for ur time.
-
Ok.....I am running stock alloy wheels with bridgestone at revos 30X9.5 R15 on stock suspension. I plan on buying OME springs...922 I beleave is the correct part? Or is there diffrent ones for front and rear ( 921 front, 922 rear)? Or is that just the diffrent weight capacities? Now i have read somehting about backspacing. Are the stock wheels and tire going to fit this application of springs or does spacers or new wheels need to be bought? Manual hubs are in the project and new cv if needed. Thanx for your time.

just curious where are you at in NC...should get together and have a pathy meet here in NC. -
Yea, dark pix it was taken around 01:30hrs NC time.... well i have hit 2 deer and the plastic is all bent to hell in places plus being deformed...Wanting to make it look newer again and get rid of the chrome parts. My FD does not allow roof (trust me I would...hehe) mounted RED lights or any lights that are used in a response to a scene only interior and grill lights. So I cant argue with them. Lights up top are in the works after I get my roof rack made.(no money right now)....I have had silverstar's in the truck and the blow out after a few months...there getting tierd of me returning the burnt out lights. I may just relay the head lights with larger gauge wires...

Dont want to use HID kits....too much flare spots with out acutally buying the headlights made for them... heres what i have now. Anyone have anyplaces I can get replacement parts on the cheap?(bumper)
-
I did see the post about the removal of front grill, haha stupid rice burners...lol .....Im not wanting to blind people. Was going to leave the stock bulb wattage just try to squeez a little more juice out of it. I travle some nice dark country back roads and need the extra lighting....Those mother effing deer are always out especially now its warmer.

As in my profile I have a 97 SE R50.....Just passing 220K and still running strong. Had the toqure converter replaced and tranny was in beautiful shape as the mech. said. Got some 30X9.5 15's AT REVO's on her sittin all nice and pretty. A set of IPF 986's in lower bumper which I'll load pix of... Anyways....need new bumper as the origional has taken a beating since being in the family. How hard is it to replace the front bumpers and where is a good place to get replacements for cheap? Also I like the look of the SE grilles from 2001 and how open they are, and me being a volly firefighter it would be great for me to have my emergency lights be seen easier than cutting up a new 97 grille to fit them in there. So will a 2001 front end fit on a 97, just curious? ( i kno the headlights are diffrent and would have to be changed...idk just a crazy idea) I saw a website (http://www.danielsternlighting.com) talking about beefing up headlights and such. Good idea/bad idea. whats your opinions on it. I would like to get more light out of the factory headlights. Dont like the silverstar lights because all they do is a color shift. Thanx for your time mates.

not wanting to lift it.....keep it as close to stock hight as much as possible.... parts numbers and where to find them thanx mates
-
I am in need of new springs for my truck bad.....need heay duty since I carry and tow a bunch of tools and equipment not to mention all of my fire/rescue stuff...... So i need the best bang for the buck in a heavy duty spring...any online sites that have them...factory hight to 1 inch lift ONLY.....part numbers if you have them. What struts would you reccomend...
-
Good to know. The primay I have now is brand new bought back in early Nov. I'm wanting to run all factory on the primary and everything else on the Aux.....from what i have looked at the alty on my truck now is old and prolly the origional....with 150-200K miles on it I think I could use the upgrade... and the higher output of a larger alty...120-180 would be ideal... what kind of options are there that are true and tested?
-
Well heres what is now the plan.....one battery is good other is dead...will not hold charge after being on a charger all night....so a dual auxiliary right now is out but will keep the idea and plans to do dual auxilary batts in the future... so right now looking at the best possible solution to a single auxilary batt set up.... need dual battery system kit....if installed what do you use on your rigs? need more info on a alternator swap...looked in the how-to part need more info... stock amps, idle amps, ect. year model engine size to get donor alternator from...prolly get a refurb....or buy after market idk yet... thanx mates for all your time and thoughts
-
Yes, would you please make a drawing for me to see what it should look like. I have put something om paper and would like to see if what im thinking will work...lol....but yes I would like to use both of these batteries. Would you parallel the battieries or have them in a series to keep them 12 volt, I know one way makes them 12 and the other makes them 24 <---of which I dont want 24 volt. I'm not that familiar with that much electrical stuff. I'm going to run all of the lights off of some federal signal (public safety ie police fire ems) switch boxes that I have access to
-
Well one of the batteries was completely dead... the other had 5.3 volts on it....so I had them piggy back charged up to about 10 volts... now are on a all night charge at the local autopart store(where my buddy works should be fully charged tomorrow).... Right now the load is 95% stock on the current battery system. The IPF lights have not been installed yet...nor has the roof rack been built(making costom from scratch). I want to leave all factory stuff on the primary battery. radio, regular lights and such....I want the 2 blue top....if both are good....to power all my accesory emergency lights and off-road lights once there installed. Would like to have a good diagram of how to do it and quality parts(isolator?, dual system?) to use while doing it...and a way to charge everything so i dont over tax my alternator thats on it of which i have no idea what condition it is in since its a junk yard engine....i will prolly buy a aftermarket or refurb....was told that other alternators will bolt on other than pathy?
-
So I got a hell of a steal....went to a yard sale before the rain started today and saw 2 blue top batteries in the garage on a shelf...got to talking to the wife and said i could use those batteries for a project I'll give ya $50 for em....she said $100... I said ok... Now my question is how am i going to get these installed and workin with my current system...As yall know Im a Emergency First Responder. My thoughts are to run all of my Emergency Lights (leds) and off-road lights<--- scene lights as I like to call them...lol and have the batteries kept charged....I know there are dual battery systems out there that keep your primay battery charged first then charges the aux batteries once the primary is charged.....and how big of a alternator do i have to put in to go above the regular draw of normal vehicle use? Could I use both blue tops as auxilary 2 auxiliary(bluetop) and 1 primary(regular batt)? My battery now is brand new.... For those of you that have experiance using dual battery systems please teach the grass hopper....lol
